    Hi. It’s Ann from geltyme. When you mix the Parafin and soy. Which wick do you use. Cotton or zinc ?

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    Depends on the blend but cotton would work better in most cases :)

    I've been trying to find out what paraffin and bee's wax mixtures look like

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    @CandlesandSupplies

    3 жыл бұрын

    This is definitely an experimenting and testing type of thing. Beeswax is naturally a hard burner so you'll most likely want to look for a paraffin wax that burns easier.

    @@CandlesandSupplies last week I was able to dip a few. 2/3 paraffin 1/3 beeswax the resulting candles at 7 inches burn between 6 and 7 hours and are a parchment color of course that's on a thicker cotton wick. Thinner wicks might improve burn time.

    I've been a candle carver for years and now I'm doing pillars. What's the best soy and palm wax blend with the strongest sent throw?

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    @CandlesandSupplies

    3 жыл бұрын

    You're most likely going to have a better scent throw with the palm pillar wax. If you want to blend I'd use the Advanced Soy Pillar wax and start with a 25% ratio to see how you like it. Testing is key!

    Hi there thanks for the video helped a lot. Can you make a video mixing gel wax with paraffin wax or soy wax or both. I am trying to make a marble effect.

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    Hi Rudy! Gel wax won't blend with any other wax because of its consistency. It would interested to see a marble/swirl type of effect. Would take some testing for sure!

    Can you mix coco apricot wax with paraffin? If so what would be a good ratio?

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    @CandlesandSupplies

    Жыл бұрын

    You definitely could mix them! Ratio would depend on the paraffin wax and what you want to achieve by mixing them. Starting at a 50/50 ratio is a good place to begin then adjust depending on performance.

    Does the temperature to add fragrance change when you blend?

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    @CandlesandSupplies

    Жыл бұрын

    The temperature can change when you are mixing two waxes. The easiest thing to do is to take the average of the two temperatures.

    Hi Agata! We actually do not sell coco apricot wax so I'm not sure what the ratios might be with the ones on the market. Were you planning on using apricot kernel oil and mixing with a soy or paraffin or adding anything else?

    Don't different types of wax have different melting points and therefore better to mix them when they're both liquid?

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    @CandlesandSupplies

    What courses candlewax to smoke, and it seems to make all my white furniture black

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    @CandlesandSupplies

    4 ай бұрын

    Black smoke is usually caused by either the candle wick being too big or the fragrance oil in the wax. Wax itself burns cleanly, its the wicks and scents that cause the smoke.

    What does single pour mean?

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    @CandlesandSupplies

    Жыл бұрын

    A single pour wax is a wax that only requires one pour. Some waxes sink when cooling so you have to re-pour more wax on top to have an even top layer. Many waxes nowadays are single pour, this was much more common 15-20 years ago.
