    Nice demonstration , I had taken an apprenticeship with Cady's Candles in Wisconsin Dells some 22 years back and ran my business successfully for 10 years before taking a job that gave me a pension. I still have all my equipment and supplies in my home and look forward to getting back into it when I retire, so relaxing and best job I ever had.

I found that microcrystalline wax has different grades.. laminating, coating and hardening...which one is best for carving? How do u mix the pigment to wax....is it direct or mixed with oil? Thanking you in advance and eagerly awaiting for your reply!!!!!

    The microcrystalline that we use is one designed to make the carving paraffin less brittle and more flexible. I'm not sure what other industries this microcrystalline is used in - we love it for carving! Just mix the pigment directly with the wax and it will blend nicely.

    Hi Alla! Stearic acid hardens a wax and micro wax actually helps make the wax more pliable so they do different jobs. No need to add stearic to carving wax. You don't want the carving wax too hard otherwise it won't carve well. The micro adds some stretch so to speak into the wax so can carve and maneuver it.

    Hello, I have questions I've been trying for days to carve candles just as a hobby but... My mold is made out of soy wax My dipping wax is Paraffine wax and I added the microcrystalline The colors add great to the candle but... when I try to carve the layers crumble please help

  • @CandlesandSupplies

    @CandlesandSupplies

    Жыл бұрын

    We have not been successful using soy wax for carved candles because it is so brittle and crumbles when carved. It's best to make your core candles from paraffin with microcrystalline.
