Actually no, you’re not gonna die just cuz you can’t do that. It took me two months before I could do that, it’s actually about how balanced you are and if you lean forward it’s easier because you are putting all your weight in front of you. :)

When it comes down it, its measuring whether or not you fall over easily or lose your balance. Since a fall can snowball into complications that lead to death for older people.

The difficulty of this exercise has mostly to with your bodys anatomy. If you've got longer femurs (the bones in your thighs). You'll be feeling like this is impossible. Meanwhile, others with shorter femurs, can do this movement with ease. And question why anyone would struggle with it in the first place.

As far as i understood, this is about having a good balance and a good muscle tension. Which both are important to make sure you don't stumble, fall, and break your hip (which is pretty common for elderly people). So it is less about organ function, it is more about preventing accidents. :)

It's pretty common for us to sit and stand like that since we've been doing this since our childhood. The yoga classes in school really helped for strength ✌🏻

It depends on how flexible you are and your body composition. ...yes I can do it...but I've got disc issues and fibro, all kinds of stuff...so I believe it comes down to if you're used to flexibility, muscle memory, balance and just the way you're built

I’ve been doing this practically everyday for years. The mentality “trick” I use is to imagine an invisible string pulling you up to stand. Once you get comfortable doing that, try adding a spin-to-stand motion. It’s fun.

Hat glaube ich etwas mehr mit dem körperbau, Aufbau vom Skelett zu tun und mit dem körperschwerpunkt. Ich glaube es ist mit eher langen beinen im verhältnis zum oberkörper leichter. Und auch mit eher schmalen hüften und breiteren schultern, wie z.B. bei Julia Robers. Jemand wie Selma Hyak würde es nicht so gut hinbekommen.

As far as i understood, this is about having a good balance and a good muscle tension. Which both are important to make sure you don't stumble, fall, and break your hip (which is pretty common for elderly people). So it is less about organ function, it is more about preventing accidents. :)

It's pretty common for us to sit and stand like that since we've been doing this since our childhood. The yoga classes in school really helped for strength ✌🏻
I guess the 8 years of ballet really do pay off 😂

It depends on how flexible you are and your body composition. ...yes I can do it...but I've got disc issues and fibro, all kinds of stuff...so I believe it comes down to if you're used to flexibility, muscle memory, balance and just the way you're built

I did this and it was really really easy but I am a dancer and we work on shifting our weight to the tops of our toes and stuff so I think that’s why

i took gymnastics for several years and we werent allowed to use our hands to stand up from sitting exercises, over ten years later its still a habit of mine!
That has nothing to do with dying early 🤦🏻♀️. It just depends on how flexible and strong a person is and where their point of balance is 🤷🏻♀️.

I remember as a child growing up in Asia in late 70s/early 80s with a dad who's avid movie goer who loved western (cowboy) movies, I learned this from American Indians in one of the movies he took me with.
This is the only way I sit down and stand up from the floor 😅 I didn't know it was difficult for some

It has to do with balance. Poor balance leads to more accidents. More accidents equal more chance for deadly injuries.

I’ve been doing this practically everyday for years. The mentality “trick” I use is to imagine an invisible string pulling you up to stand. Once you get comfortable doing that, try adding a spin-to-stand motion. It’s fun.
Selbst ich mit paar Pfunden zu viel und zu wenig Sport schafe das mühelos. Wenn du als Sportskanone da so Schwierigkeiten hast, dann machst du etwas gewaltig falsch.

Hat glaube ich etwas mehr mit dem körperbau, Aufbau vom Skelett zu tun und mit dem körperschwerpunkt. Ich glaube es ist mit eher langen beinen im verhältnis zum oberkörper leichter. Und auch mit eher schmalen hüften und breiteren schultern, wie z.B. bei Julia Robers. Jemand wie Selma Hyak würde es nicht so gut hinbekommen.
