@@beautifullifesageg.3951 I started off with one about real estate because that was what I was doing at the time, then I tried one for life coaching but life happens and I always let it get me down and demotivated so I didn't feel qualified. I got shy being on camera too which was odd. My mom passed in 2020 and there is a lot of legal issues around it is still in process so mentally I lose focus and get very down about myself and life in general. I opened an Etsy shop to have an outlet for my creative side and LOVE creating designs for my products and have actually made a few sales which was encouraging. Now I am starting a channel with design tips, etc. I am working a rather mundane job so this has been oddly therapeutic for me. Thank you for the encouragement as well and I look forward to your future videos :)

I loved watching this video and your energy. I have diagnosed ADHD and I completely identified with your description of yourself starting and stopping things. Every detail you outlined is 100% accurate for me, or least it has been up until about 2 weeks ago. I decided that it is time to stop the self sabotage and create the change in my life that I want to see. Your video inspired me, thank you.

I so want to make money on my channel doing what I love! We can do it! You’re really putting the effort in. Me too, I go full force and then burn out on almost everything I do. I can’t believe I’ve been doing this almost a year now! Next week you will have 100🎉 make sure and celebrate! There is so much to learn! So much. It’s so rewarding! I also did my first edits strictly on my phone and moved to ipad. I can’t believe I was doing everything on my phone. Isn’t it crazy how we intuitively learn? I think I found this through the other Jen one too!! I’m in the same boat… five years to retire and exploring different territory but I have a theory that people find the videos about how small channels grow and then start to subscribe from there, then like the person so much they start watching the original content. I might challenge myself to post about my small channel process. This was my first week really pushing out more content but not much luck yet.

It does get hard. Especially when there’s the permanent challenge of balancing this with a full time job! But we are fabulous in our 50s and I believe that I’ve done much harder things in my life than this. I remind myself that I have value to give the world. So do YOU! 🙏💕🙏☀️

thanks for the feedback, Curtis. 🙏. Personally, after 25 years and going into my 26th, much of my planning remains in my head. I struggle to keep a teacher planner honestly. I think because by this time in my career, I know the standards and have a good idea of the expected time frames it will take to teach them..plus, much of the curriculum guides have time frames in them already. I try to set up my weeks so that lessons are chunked…helps me to spend less time with daily or weekly planning. I use TONS of sticky notes each day! It may not be pretty, but it’s how my brain works!🫨😉

I subscribed to your channel.. I hope it will help you.. When I started my channel I was too focused on getting monetized and I got discouraged, so I took 2023 off but I found I missed making and editing videos. Now my focus is on having fun and learning and creating better content as well.. I have three self published children's books. I haven't sold any because I don't really promote or advertise them enough. So I need to focus on those more as well because I am proud of them and the effort that I put into them and teaching myself how to self publish them all by myself.. Good luck to you and everyone.. 💙

It’s so wonderful seeing other women on here support one another. I’ve recently started to try and grow my KZread channel. I just enjoy it so much. I’d love to get it monetized but either way I’m having fun! 😊

I am 43 in August. I have ADHD. Diagnosed as adult. I have had the same issue my whole life. Have a hard time keeping things going. Good at a lot of things. But cant stay focused. Trying to jeep focus and grow my new channel. Want to monetise by Halloween

That is a well-planned goal, Ruby! I realized I had ADHD last summer…a few years after my son was diagnosed at 19. I am 54. Having this information now has given context to my life…which in many ways felt so much harder for me. I am able to hyper focus very well…but that means that while one things is going smoothly other things around me might be falling apart! It is definitely a balancing act in the truest sense!

Already at 76? Im going to guess 20 more by next week 😊

As someone considering starting a KZread channel- how long does it take you to 1. Prep & write a script and 2. Edit your videos? I have been trying to figure out how much time to block off for this as most of my day needs to focus on my primary job.. thanks in advance!

Hey there and thanks for watching and commenting with such a thoughtful question. I work full time too, as an elementary school teacher, so most of my filming is done on weekends. This series requires script writing and it takes a couple of hours currently. Editing is a WHOLE other story. It’s a new skill I’m learning so I allow myself plenty of time. I’d say right now I sit down for about 3 sessions of about an hour each. The first is to upload and trim all the shots. The second to work on sound and music, and the third for graphics. There’s also the time to consider for making your thumbnail and crafting a title. It’s definitely a process and honestly, I’m still developing my workflow. Improving 1% with each video!

Ok, I am going to be as Positive as possible. I am not quite over clicking on video´s that talk about their channel and statistics, but for whatever reason almost no one takes it seriously enough to Learn what they are doing BEFORE they push the start button. It's like driving on the freeway with a driver in the next lane who has not had any drivers' lessons or going into surgery when the doctor has not studied and trained to be a surgeon. WHY. Just wait until you are ready. We are already old, what's a few weeks more. The other part of this is the start again, stop again youtuber. If I actually cared how many subscribers, viewers you had wouldn't it be nice and more meaningful if you started and then did not go to Europe or some other life event to make it a non-continuous journey. How does it help me to know what you accomplished if you did not complete it continuously. How helpful is it to know you completed the 100-yard dash in the Olympics if you stopped along the way for breakfast. So, I just turned 64 and am familiar with Silver and Solo, so now I guess I have to get out of my assisted living bed to show you guys how it is done. 😎

That's so funny, I felt like you were talking about me. I also think I have ADHD and have always had it. I want to monetize my tiny channel, and I just turned 51 in June. Can we be friends? 😄 You can do it, and we'll be here to support you. Us Gen Xers need to help each other, and I am always happy to find another 50+ here on the internet. x

We CAN be friends! That’s what my channel is all about! Building community through shared experiences. I watched your video on menopause. Um…YES. UGH. I went through similar experiences until I started taking BHRT. Not perfect…but SO MUCH BETTER! I’m glad you’re here. In support of growing your channel, I’ve also subscribed to bridge our communities and allow GenX women (and some men…LOL) to create a space for ourselves on KZread and remain relevant. 🙏✨💕

@@JasenomadeTV for an expert opinion….follow Dr. Mary Claire Haver. She is a women’s hormone specialist and has a thriving YT channel. I found her AFTER I decided to take BHRT…yet she remains up to date in current research and advocates for women’s menopause experiences to be validated.
