Winning combination is to give your viewers the thing they want to see. Being a KZreadr is like a business, and business owners give people products/services that people need in their life. It's practically the same. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of Famester to help) will always pay off at the end. Just continue to do videos that they want and make sure you do one's that is interesting and entertainment like if it's Hollywood or something. Do it daily If it take doing videos back to back in one day it all depends on your time. People are hard to please that's one reason why it can take so long.

I just started youtube and the only thing i ask my few viewers is to share their thoughts. I really think if my content is good enough people will subscribe without me asking, at-least thats how my thought process is when I subscribe to people’s channels.

Subscribers do matter if you are not on the KZread Partner Program because you haven't met the criteria yet. But yes once you qualify views are more important because views from those who aren't subscribers are potential subscribers. Love 🥰 this video and love ❤Jade.

For those that are just starting on KZread - don’t give up! It’s true that gaining a following is harder than ever since there’s more competition. However, it’s never too late! Consistency is key. The more you post, the quicker the algorithm will pick up your videos. Focus on creating quality content. The world is your oyster!

KZread works by feeding your new video out to existing subscribers. It they react well it feeds it to unknown new viewers, so yes subscribers matter.

We should be focusing on good contents

Subscribers DO matter though. It’s like saying likes don’t matter or the number of comments don’t matter. New subs are another positive metric for the algorithm to pump out your videos more. And subscriber numbers are especially important when negotiating brand deals.

It feels off to me as well, in one of my KZread Journey updates, I had mentioned I don't think I'll be using it for now, even the subscribe button effects, I stopped using it at 75 subscribers and I'm over a 100 now, meaning it's your content that genuinely convince people to subscribe and not the saying it or popping it on the screen.

I felt like I sort of knew this but it’s good to see the receipts ! And the fact that your rate fluctuates when your channel grows in subscribers is so interesting! Thank you for this info!

Jade, you're always dropping the truth bombs! 💣 I've been trying to focus more on watch time vs. subscriber count, and finding ways to make my videos engaging from second one. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't--I'm still figuring it out, but I'm glad that I am a PROUD SUBSCRIBER of your channel so I can keep learning from you as we go!

What I’ve noticed is that I get more views “sometimes” on my shorts. It’s been challenging, but I’m sticking to it. This video was soooo informative . Thank you 😊

My advice: Get subscribers on YT shorts, and watchtime hours on long format video. Don't worry about copyright issues if you are getting started. It doesn't matter. You are still not monetized anyway. But you will get the hours you need. The most watched long form video is music compilation. Add interesting videos to it.

It's really disappointing though cause when KZread started in the early years, numbers made such an impact. Many of us worked years to build the numbers and generally most of our uploads would get to at least 10-20% of our subs. Now it's a post and pray algorithm across all social media. It's sad actually.

Really appreciate the open and transparent nature of this video. As someone who is looking to grow my channel it helps understand the prospect of being consistent in uploading videos. Unfortunately for me KZread is only a short term prospect given my current situation.

Being a struggling KZreadr I have learnt a thing or two to implement. Thanks so much for this timely video

But if you focus on the journey, learn and improve on every single new video, you will surely set yourself up for success.😊

What I realized is the only way to understand if you're giving the best current content quality with your videos to your audience is the time you watch your older videos and simply don't like them... that means you are in a good direction, and that means you are getting progress !! And like a wise man said, suck suck Suc cess (success)!

I agree and disagree. First off, you do need those 1000 subscribers for the YPP, as you mentioned... So when you're not at 1k yet, your subscriber count does matter a lot! (even though the watch hours is often a LOT more difficult... For instance I'm now at 2.5k subscribers, but nowhere near the 4k required watch hours!). At that point subscriber count is completely irrelevant for money, it can help to get more views and watch time though because people will take a channel with a lot of subs more seriously... Simple psychology 101. Next is things like collabs, sponsoring, product placement, etcetera, etcetera... With that subscriber count also does matter! To 99% of potential sponsors all they will look at is subs count... If they see you just have a couple of thousand subs, most sponsors will immediately skip and not even check your views, your watch time, your content... nothing. Once you have 10k-20k subscribers things get interesting... before that you're just another small channel. That being said: just focusing on subscribers is indeed ALWAYS a very, very bad idea! Making content with clickable thumbnail/title and audience retention is what really matters. But that is VERY hard and also requires quite a bit of luck... I've been in the youtube game for 4-5 years now (on and off) and my current channel is now running almost 2 years. I made over 100 videos and so far none of them really made a change. Some performed really well, good clickrates, sometimes even amazing clickrates, good audience retention, but the algorithm didn't pick it up and not all that many people got to see them. Most video's just didn't do that well with either low CTR, low audience retention or sometimes both. I've been experimenting with many things, changing things, learn things, create different thumbnails (I've literally spent days, or by now probably even weeks on thumbnails and thumbnail strategy... still haven't found what works for my channel!)... I've been spending 30-40 hours a week on the channel, so definitely put in the work. But no money, no YPP, no sponsors, nothing. Yet!

AMAZING...I've been saying to myself (this week oddly!) very sternly, that its beginning to get on my nerves when channels beg for a sub or TELL us to do it. Definitely a psychological choice not to. Also I noticed that MKBHD does not ask for subs or likes at this point. Its very refreshing. For me..a humble ask is what may get me to sub or a quick subtle ask...but trying to be cool, begging basically, or telling me how much it helps or being assertive about a sub is a definite no. I sub often oddly....but I do it because of my interest. OH....and the worst is asking at the beginning....before I view the content, thats insane. This comment is just me being honest..not angry or trolling, just what I quietly think...especially this week...so its strange this vid knew my current thoughts lol. Thx for the content, it EARNED my sub today. looking forward to your content.

Subscriber numbers are very important for sponsors. When subs are down sponsors go away, when sub are growing sponsors are there. It’s super predictable.

I have been vlogging and sharing my life for 2 years now on KZread and still working to get more subscribers, but I realize subscribers are useless if they don't click and watch your videos for more than 3-to 5 minutes but it help some to get notification from your subscribers to your new upload

Going to try starting a newsletter. Trying my luck on Twitter right now. One day I'll try making a video for KZread. I guess then fans are worth more than followers. Fans watch you to the end, followers are now and then.
