CAMEROONIAN EGUSI OKRA SOUP // okra soup Cameroon // Cook With Me!
Egusi Okra Soup is such a treat with fufu, garri or whatever side dish you like! I wanted to make a really hearty pot of soup and this Cameroonian Egusi Okra Soup is so so good! Also, I show you how to make balls of egusi in the video. Hope you enjoy watching, friends!
Here is a similar Egusi Okra Soup recipe (this version doesn't include palm oil): www.preciouscore.com/cameroon...
You can use the measurements in the recipe I have linked above. For this video, I just wanted to invite you into my kitchen as I cook for my family. So no measurements but it's very similar to my okra egusi recipe. Just add palm oil!

Notification gang! Lol This looks delish! For some reason I always have a hard time getting my egusi come out in lumps like that and now I think I know why lol - I don’t take them out lol. I need that small mortar and pestle in my lifeeeee!!!! Chaiiiiii plenty animal obstacles in this soup!!! 😋 😋 Spinach is bae always 😆😆 I love my okra with garri or with cabbage and kale fufu 😋

Oh my God... am going to make it for my in-laws 😍 But with just one maggi. In Côte d’Ivoire we don’t use much maggi nowadays oh lol population is quitting seasoning cubes for natural flavouring stuffs only. I admit I am also like « eh aunty 🙆🏾♀️ » when you put all these maggis lool if I do it at home the kind of comments I will get eh 😂😂😂 . Thank you for the recipe Aunty Precious.

Hi Precious Beautiful video... It makes me remember my growing up as a kid. Currently married to a nigerian and although we have similar dishes, there are some special Cameroon dishes that just brings memories. I will eat mine with potato flakes mixed with plantain flour. Try this combo and you will enjoy it.
Is the “fix that fish for me”😂😂
Aww we call it towel in Ghana too… love how we Africans have similar names. Without knowing

Wow good to know!
Great recipe, you'd bring out more flavor if you started with a little oil , onions and black pepper then fry the protein for a bit and then add water to boil. the rest though is just perfectly done
I go eat ahm wit planti-o! De sweet 1
Thanks for the recipe, I just wanted to add that some Walmarts sell towel meat.
❤
Did i hear you say Nkong Ubong wow
Looks yummy...what's egusi...
wow look so nice and delicious,cn u give me the list of ingredients? thank u
It looks so good but I hate okra so I don’t think I will try it to make it lol. Think I will find an authentic restaurant and have them prepare it the right way and try it
In UAE I'll go with semolina 😊
can you make with any type of meat? like tenderloin and in my country it’s called mondogo soup we add that pork intestines cut up and vegetables corn potatoes carrots green bell pepper onion garlic some people like celery i don’t personally like celery we all have almost same foods in our country’s we have our own seasonings things we add we portoriquens are some parts african heritage in us
I eat that with my burgers 😋
Precious come back and cook some fufu and Njama during summer. ☺️☺️ you’ve been gone for quite a long while.
I would eat it with rice.
Es bueno tostar primero el egusi para potenciar el sabor
Very very miam miam
Coincidentally this video came out right after i finished making this dish😅

Haha that's a good coincidence.
Pounded yam
Looks good. If you really want your egusi to form balls, do not add any salt to the egusi. Just water and mix to your consistency. If you do that, your egusi will not scatter regardless of how long you cook or stir it.

Four seeds or squash seeds
When boiling the meat pls drain all the gunk from around the pot and start over with fresh water! Any beef pork or goat has to be boiled rinsed and boiled again. That’s not good stuff precious that’s nasty water
Precious are you married ? .....lol
You cannot watch the books before you use it to cook sorry you don't do that next time support
Garri
