Absolutely delightful. Loved the park and all the trees. That was a lovely tribute to the pigeons that Julia read out. Animals and birds are so clever. Now and then i hug a tree. Never had done it before. Just done it since I watched Julia doing it. Great fun. Great video and chat. Thank you.

I'm a 63 yer old, had open heart surgery last November. Prior to that I would visit a tree on a regular basis 5 mile round walk, I was a quick walker, but sadly since the op (although successful) my pace has dropped significantly and still get out of breath. I revisited the tree in July and later in October, and thanked it for staying strong. I know it sounds weird, but when I put my forehead on the bark and close my eyes I feel its drawing me almost as if its a collidoscope being drawn in to a tunnel of peace and giving me some sort of wellbeing and peace. With an imagination, the fork of the tree represents an elephant. Hence I call it my elephant tree. Keep up the extraordinarily good work, both of you.❤

No, it doesn't sound weird, trees are a part of energy, which surrounds everything, & we are part of that energetic field also, so by definition, that 'elephant tree' with it's roots deeply veined in the earth, was giving you an energy boost, with a mutual exchange of recognition.Glad your op was a success.

Thank you both for a wonderful video! I really enjoyed seeing the roses and the sunshine - nevermind re your camera, Julia, there's always next time! Richard, I remember buying films for my camera and taking them to Boots in a little plastic container to get them developed and then the excitement of collecting the photos in a little wallet.... Then later on sending films off to Bonus Print as they were cheaper.... Seems like only yesterday!

I have been walking, hiking and exploring many different woods and forests for years, especially since the pandemic, and never hugged a tree or thought much about it until the beginning of this year. Now when i am hiking around, i notice myself hugging, touching and just appreciating being reconnected with nature. There is no doubt that trees, especially big old trees have some kind of energy that connects to people on a positive and spiritual level. I find this energy a great way to detach from the negative energy i feel within the city life and the stress of everyday struggles in life. Anyway, thanks for sharing this video Richard and Julia. 👍

Julia is definitely a Tree Hugger, 😃 I note she can't resist wrapping her arms around a beautiful tree when she sees one. I wonder if she thinks Richard has the same qualities. 😅There should be more people who truly love trees especially in urban areas as they are so important for the environment, which is why our public parks are so important but not always appreciated. Promenading within the local park, was an important practice on a Sunday afternoon in Victorian society. As well as exercise, it was a way of seeing and meeting others and provide community cohesion. something today we have lost in the days of the motor car.

Hello. I did one of my regular walks yesterday and was very sad to see that one of my favourite trees had blown down in the wind. I have photographed it several times against a backdrop of various skies. Moody dark clouds and glorious sunshine. Now it is no more. 😢 ilona xxx

Been there, done that!! Frustrating but at least you had not driven a long way on a day out and your just down the road.... a good place to practice at is the walk up to Halnaker Windmill, good mixed shade and light opportunities and another place nearer to you is Shorham Fort, plenty of abstract angles for pics and there is a boardwalk along there. Bowling season is closed, always busy there and at Marine Gardens from March onwards... yes we have had flooding in Bury!! Thr bench by the river was inaccessible at one point. Can I put in a request to see a woodland walk vlog, having a major op on Friday so I will be recovering over xmas at home, would be lovely to get out virtually in watching via your vlogs! Good to see u both. Xx

Council land being neglected everywhere Richard... watched changes since 1980s going from lovely tended flower beds to being replanted with shrubs which require little attention to eventually being grassed over and now they can't even cut the grass regularly... so sad to witness this x

Can I add that on a discussion in your other channel with that American guy who seemed patronising to everyone I was attacked in the comments , I suggested a coin! (this was four months ago ) which since has gone up 400% which I'm not suggested people to buy now but had they bought the year previously every £100 would be worth £64000 , .. js Gilbert from Gilbert & Sulivan fame always talked about topsy-turvydom which I'm learning from a Victorian man reminded from a video of yours I watched today, anyway I'm not a psy or fortune teller but next year when your talking about the cryptocurrency remember me ( omg I've re read this and sound like a complete.p! ) 😌 x
