@@kevwilliams1 Really? I bet you weren't saying that after the F.A. Cup 2020 final, hypocrite. Arsenal beat Man United home and away, and finished 29 points ahead of them. I don't think it'll be hard for Arsenal to win a trophy next season, whether it's the F.A. Cup or more.

Arsenal missed the league by 2 pojnts, Man U with a negative goal difference. They won the FA Cup, where you only need to stay unbeaten for 7 games. Arsenal were put out of the CL quarters, but only just. Bayern were only just beaten by Real. The margins between success and failure are far finer for Arsenal than Man U despite them fighting at a much higher level. Utd were very good on the day though and have some very good players.

If United didnt win the cup they missed out on Europe and the whole squad would have got mandatory paycuts as per thier contracts, 25%.

I will be willing to accept that United had a better season than Arsenal when United fans confirm that Arsenal had a better season than them when Arteta signed. Cause last I checked you lots said it was only an FA Cup when we won it that season and you made top 4. As far as I am concerned we have had the better season. I had hope till the very last day while you lot gave up on most competitions cause you knew you were never going anywhere. Hope that FA Cup feel nice next season when you lots are playing against teams with passwords for names.

Since United's FA Cup final victory against City, I have heard nothing but Arsenal trending - who weren't even involved. It proves that Arsenal are living in their heads rent free. In 2020 when United won nothing and finished 3rd but Arsenal won the FA Cup and finished 8th, I heard nobody talking about them having a better season. This season United finished 8th with a negative goal difference, with Arsenal having a better goal difference than United's entire points total.

Man Utd, the greatest club in England and one of the greatest clubs in the world arguing if 8th place with an FA Cup is better than Arsenal's 20 years without a PL title. Both are unacceptable, Man Utd and Arsenal should be winning titles, it's embarrassing how the standards have fallen

You can't compare both clubs' seasons. Arsenal, with one of the youngest teams in the PL, lost by 2 points to a team that has now won 4 leagues in a row and has one of the biggest budgets in the world. When you lose by a hair, you can't be too disappointed.

It all depends what you characterise as successful. For me, Man Utd's season was more successful due to the fact they won a trophy and we didn't - and I *personally* have the viewpoint that trophies are the primary reason to justify a successful season. But cup runs are what they are. The league is where teams are measured and Arsenal are streets ahead of Utd currently, which is why out manager is safer than ever after finishing 2nd and Ten Hag may be sacked shortly. Congrats to Utd genuinely (and I hope they keep Ten Hag), but I'd rather be in Arsenals' shoes right now.

If Man United were more successful this season, why would you rather be in Arsenal's shoes? And why is there speculation that ETH will get sacked? Could it be that they finished 31 points behind the champions? Could it be because they finished bottom of their UCL group? Could it be that most of their major signings have been flops, and arguably, their best player was from the academy? On paper yes, but that’s it. Arsenal won the FA Cup in the year Bayern beat them 10-2. They also won it when they finished 8th (like Utd this season) and then came 8th the following season. It’s a nice way to paper over cracks. In terms of the directions of the clubs, Arsenals season puts them in a much better place despite no trophy

Not to mention United did not get out of the CL group stages. Did they get 4th in Cl? Got 30 less points than Arsenal. Minus goal difference. On and on so one 90 min performance is supposed to erase all that. In fact I think they faced no one in the Fa up to the final. Forest was the best team they played in FA cup to make final.

@@davec3974Which is impressive as he’s so out of his depth at the PL level. Yes he may have one a couple of trophies but Arteta will be a coach for years to come at Arsenal and ETH will be sacked before Christmas.
