Just been fitted for mine & they were more consistent dispersion & longer than my Apex 21 DCBs - they felt amazing - order’s in!
With losing about 10 yards over the past few yers, decided to get fitted for the Paradyms and shocked at how great the X’s felt. Currently using the callaway epics and the X’s are easily 10-15 yards longer and very straight. These were also crazy easy for me to hit. Just super solid all around and loads of confidence
They look sooo Callaway. I thought the same as you Mark. Looked just like my old X16 set. Which were brilliant and responsible for me to getting to mid single digit handicaps
I appreciate your content always. You asked about tech details in your content, I for one do appreciate those details. For me it helps explain the performance to some degree of the clubs.

Thanks you for your comments. Noted.
I use Ping i210 irons. They are the best irons I have ever used. Have had Callaways,Titleist, TaylorMade etc etc including Mizuno forged. Still love my Pings. They feel soft and are built to last.
I love your content Mark. Part of that is you seem to bring the marketing crap down to earth and actually tell the truth. I don't really care what the manufacturers are saying. It's basically the same on every club every year. More distance, more forgiving. We need you to tell us what is actually happening!

I agree, its the same old stuff every year because they have to sell golf clubs. I have watched a couple other golf channels and they must be getting paid because al I hear is wow wow. I like marks testing much better and let the silly season continue and there are many people out there whom will be sucked in.
Just tried these indoors and agree with what ypu said...they are Callaway irons currently hVe Apex 19 and might be a good option to look at. Also hit the ParadymX and they performed really well too ..they are good looking clubs tbh. Great review Mark 👍👍
Love the review Mark! Thanks for the info and I agree tech is dry but I’m fine with in or out…up to you. I agree they all say the same thing! Haha. For me I’ve played Callaway (for years) Ping for a while and now I’ve moved over to Taylormade P790’s and I love them. It will take a heck of an iron to get me out of them. Great review! Forgot one thing, and maybe the most important item that separates you from everyone else….THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONESTY!!!
Your title is correct about the "HYPE." Every year is the same. All companies pay the KZreadrs and throw a parade for the latest product. I am not criticizing because companies need to sell their product. I understand. But seldom is there a change in the performance numbers that make any real difference. It does make for a good reason for another video though. Keep up the good work Mark. I like your instructional shorts.👍

Incremental improvements it always is. However when you look at year on year you do see improvements. The issue is that if you are someone looking to change sets each year it just isn't worth it. For those who game a set for 4-5 years there may be enough to tempt them.
@amunt3r
Жыл бұрын
@@MWalsh1992 My impression is that there isn't much room for REAL improvements at this point. Jacked lofts, hot faces... At the end of the day, if you've bought game improvement irons in the past 5 years that are reasonably well fitted to your game (i.e. the right shafts), you won't see anything that justifies the sticker price in an updated set. I've got JPX 921s and will probably simply reshaft these if and when my swing dynamics change. There's so much variability in my swing, though, that looking for tiny improvements is kinda pointless when (a) I'm playing off 12 and (b) I'm never going to have an elite swing. Any improvement in handicap will come from my short game, not from sticking irons close to the pin.

@@bluewaterbuddy seems like brain-dead consumerism to me, hopefully someone gets a bargain on a 12-month old set of used clubs. I completed my set of JPX 921s recently and saved up a bundle as they were a 'superceded' model. (Originally had a mixed set with JPX for mid to long irons.) Moral of the story: shop around for last year's models and save $hundreds.

100% accurate. well said. all the manufacturers have maxed out the Tech. get some golf lessons in you want to improve.
I love the tech! And your presentation on it as well keep it up.
Great review Mark and liked your general comments. Still getting used to the name they do look better in the metal and feel great. Will be testing these along with the Rogue, Ping and Taylormade all available at my club. Talking of brands I do wish there were more stockists and demo days for brands like Srixon- Cleveland and Wilson, Cobra, and even Mizuno. If you are not in the big four the brands I mentioned including Titleist then it’s hard to get a quality fitting .
They do look good. Mark, can you do some more course vlogs with Coach, Rory etc. They are such a good watch
Liam I want your clubs, keep doing what you're doing it's all good. And yes being there and seeing the kids grow up, you never get those days back so enjoy them.
These irons surprised me. I typically play a “players” iron. My previous irons were MP-18 MMC. I went in convinced I was getting T100s, the fitter put these in my hands. I just have gave him a weird look because he said just hit them. I got these 2 degrees flat and went 10 for 10 from 180 and couldn’t get my wallet out fast enough. Super forgiving and somewhat compact.
I enjoy the tech vs reality comparisons, I dint blame these companies for the tag lines. It’s a tough relatively niche market so fair okay to them. But I enjoy how you cut through it and make it make sense for us
I recently went and tried them out against my Ping i210’s and found them to be an excellent club with more distance then my Pings (about 5 yards) this was using the 7 iron. My Pings had a slightly better dispersion, perhaps due to my familiarity with them but the Paradym’s were not much different. I could not justify the $1399 to change clubs therefore will stick with my Ping’s however I was indeed very impressed with these irons and would certainly recommend them.
Honest review. Good stuff.
I’m a 7 handicap gaming the i59 irons. Used these callaway in the launch monitor and was well impressed. 7 iron 190 yards. 30 yards more carry. More important they have feel.
Your reviews of the 2023 Paradyme and Srixon irons are terrific and really well done and interesting and fascinating. I'm interested in both, being 75. I'm planning to try both in a fitting but do you have any other hints or suggestions concerning a comparison between these two? Love your work. Long time supporter. Thank you.
Dear Mr Muppet! I just recall a video from some years ago where you talked about the Ping Eye 2 as the IPhone of golf clubs. That club, at least through your description of it, could have been wearing the name Paradigm (or Paradym) with the club head held high. By the way, I bought a set of Eye 2 + based on that video. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing the information. If you still have the review demo irons and can get ahold of the Rogue ST Pro iron(s) I'd be interested in hearing how those compare to the Paradym irons for you.
Thanks Mark, they look gorgeous ..
Callaway irons in this class do have a paradigmatic formula to be fair… LOL. Great insights Mark! The hype is definitely hype.
Looking awesome. I’ll take Paradym anyday as to another release Rogue PMS 9 or Epic CLIMAX 5. Lol . At least it’s something NEW.
Great report mark
Mark, seems most manufacturers say the same basic things; I for one could live without hearing it all again 😅 Unless or until something truly new come along or is allowed… appreciate as always your candid insights! Cheers mate…

It’s so funny watching the KZread massive destroy testing. The numbers being delivered in reviews are comedy and blatantly misinformation around clear data. So sad to see pros be so dumb.
Great video. Thoughts on gapping? Throw a 54 & 60 degree wedge in your bag, you are down to putter, driver, 3w if you're carrying the 4-GW. Would you drop the 4 iron and add a 5w or hybrid? thanks.
Mark, Please start telling us what shafts you are using on test sets.
Look like my Steelhead XR with a different back! Great Irons TCB are on order now started with X12 Back in the day!
Mark, I really enjoy your content. How do clubs like this work for us lower ball hitters? I tried a strong lofted iron (new Srixon ZX4) and landing angle was severely low. I need more height so do I go for a ZX5, with higher loft? Thank you.
Good review.
Hi Mark superb review as always , could I ask please , we're you getting 5 mph more ball speed with each club and decent angle about 45 to 50 .. I know every one will be looking at distance and control , but for me I need to know that the gapping is right and because I'm getting less spin I need the decent angle to be near 48 to 50 degrees .. thank you Bruh .... jules
Imagine unregulated club break away league. Be so much innovation in clubs and then their would actually be a reason to buy new ones! Also I’d love to see what Bryson would come up with!
Thoughts Apex vs. Paradym ? I'm playing the Apex 19 year with the Steelfiber 95 fc shaft and I really like my irons. I treid the Paradym and they feel really close. Great channel been watching for awhile. Cheers...
went to the golf shop yesterday. i hate off set, (if I had the time to practice enough I'd play blades). I now play a set of Apex pros from a couple of yrs ago with almost no offset. I compared the Paradigm to the Apex and from the top the only way to tell the difference is the Apex had a more brushed finished, both had the same minimal offset, both look the SAME from the top. I hit both mine and the Paradigm into a net and I could not tell the difference in feel or sound sometimes I thought I might be able to tell a difference but after hit twenty with both I really didn't feel enough difference to tell. Sound was the same. The only difference will be the much hotter Paradigm. I'm extremely excited about getting fit for my new set of Paradigm irons 4-PW, with the extra difference I will ditch my 4 hybrid and carry the Paradigm in a 18 degree which I can make one degree stronger or 1-2 degrees weaker. The Paradym iron is truly a Players distance iron.
Mark - I get that you want to emphasize the clubhead in your reviews, but I feel it would also help greatly to know in these reviews what shaft you are using. Is it a stock shaft? A custom shaft or optional shaft?? Is it fitted for you?? Obviously, what works for you might not work for me/us, but shaft info gets us all one step closer to getting a full picture of the whole club. Thanks/MG
I like hearing about the NEW tech
I’m fully aware that I come from a different era of golf but it’s a bit concerning to see 8i being hit 180+ yds, just how many wedges are we going to buying to gap backwards ? Is the search of distance with irons going to go a step too far ? Thoughts ?
Do you have any recommendations for which irons older golfers (65+) should consider?
I like your studio simulator. Can you also describe how you set that up?
I still have my X16’s which I still hit extremely well. Time for a change though and I want to stick with Callaway. Will look into these.
Mark, are you going to look at the new Callaway GBB irons with the ginormous price tag? Interested in how those compare to these new Callaways.
Great content, as always. Really don’t admire the design of those heads though. That blue pop… wish they’d keep it old school with a chrome look :(.
reminds me of the x2 hot irons , albeit with a fancy back .. x2 hot where awesome irons ..
Tech is nice but I really enjoy the honest indoor/outdoor reviews. It's like reading the box on balls. All saying similar things.

How would you compare them with the jpx hot metals pro ? Same kind of club ? Thanks
Hey Mark what launch monitor do you use? What would you recommend for an amateur that doesn't cost 20k :D. Cheers James
I play Apex Pro 21. I was given a brand new full set of irons and woods as a hire set. They are forgiving and give a bit more distance to what I use. I disliked the thick top edge and I don’t really care if I get extra distance in irons as I play to what my distances with each club is. I started golf with Apex x14s many years ago and they reminded me of these…..I have moved on and prefer thinner top edge. Nice irons and absolutely loved the drivers which I am going to go for a fitting along with the fairway woods. They were lovely.
I hit these today and hit them really well against the 225's and the t200's. Going back Wednesday to hit them one more time before i make a decision. They look good standing over them and the blue actually looks sharp in person.

Please review the ping 430 irons versus paradym and rogue clubs. Also compare Paradym drivers vs Rogue and Ping 430 drivers.
i’ll stick to my I230’s with the retro/weak lofts because closest to the pin helps me shoot lower scores than be able to hit my 7 iron 185 yards. color me perplexed
Mark, Question. Always wondered why you stand on a mat to hit shots. Your feet are slightly above the ball, which means you have to go after it on the down swing, imho. Most ranges your feet are level with the ball. On the course, uphill or downhill lies, we all (should ) make adjustments. So, it seems you're slightly uphill to the ball below your feet. Not that it should adversely affect your numbers as you are used to it, as you've done it for the few years i've been watching your vids. But just wondered why you stand on a mat.
whats your thoughts on an older callaway iron..thats basically the same ..yet less expensive..is there an option for a similar set of callaways similar to paradym but with a different model name ..
looking good 👍
Top line is a bit too thick for me, but being a hollow bodied iron, there is a limit to how thin they can be. Subject to that one caveat, those are nice looking irons. But it is a while since anyone produced ugly irons (TM MCGB being the last ones I can remember). The lofts are strong but by no means the strongest currently on the market. The spin is a little low but broadly what you would expect for the loft. Not really convinced that it is a paradigm shift for irons
just been fitted, traded in my Apex irons. Extra 10+ yards on a 7 iron. better grouping and a nice straight flight.

@markcrossfield . Hi Mark , can you clarify something ? You mentioned your spin at 4990 rpm and then commented that outdoors that would equate to 6000-6300 rpm . Why?
Are you still using midsized grips for your gaming clubs?
Funny when I first saw these irons, first thing I thought of was Hippo Freemans catalogs
I love my Apex 21 Irons in satin finish. I am sure that the chrome finish on the new irons are a complete scratch magnet. I don’t want my irons looking like they are 5 years old after one season.
Forged blades last till you wear them out. I wonder if stuff like microspheres, speedfoam etc. ages? That is, deteriorates overtime or due to heat and cold.
I don’t have a problem with the looks or the name at all! Id game these! How much more tech can the manufacturer put into clubs! We want looks, sound, feel, forgiveness, performance and price! Who’s doing that? PXG, Cleveland, Tour Edge, the DTC Co. etc.

Tech talk. Only thing I would like to know when it comes to irons is what the loft is compared to "traditional loft".
I have a set of x2 hot pro in the cupboard- they look like them from address
29 degree 7 iron, 184 yards...5000 spin...its a 1999 Ben Hogan 5 iron with an inch shorter shaft
Is the price for another video? Feels to me like a club review would be the perfect place to mention the price 😆 love the video tho
Back of the clubs not great need to be more classic metal. I expect they are like all power lofted clubs …which are good IMO as I game T400’s and love the power/distance. The key is what shafts you get with them , I am sure i picked the T400’s and the Cobra Ltdx when i tried all the 2022 GI Irons because i got on better with their stock shafts. Had hot metals before and should have liked the new ones but didn’t probably because the shafts didn’t work for me.
Looks like the rogue, mavrik, epic.
I'll stick to srixon, mizuno or any other set this year. I don't want bomber irons. They should have called it the ugly stick. Name would have fit better.

Manufacturers aren't going crazy. In fact, they are all having record profitability! So it would seem that gold equipment has LONG been under-priced.
Over all a nice looking irons Am I blown away by those looks though? No. Would I buy those irons over anything else on that? No. Would I try them out of curiosity? Well of course. Do I like the Name? Well it’s different. And yes I do. I do start to wonder if tech is getting in the way of overall feel and feedback? Most certainly. Overall though, I think perhaps I’m maybe more interested in where their Paradym is going in the woods and Drivers, than I am in their irons.
I kinda wanna add these to my Mizuno blades and have a 7 iron that goes 155 and a 7 iron that goes 180 😂
The new range including the X will be great for wedge sales 😂
I personally don't care about the tech in a club unless it's really earth shatteringly different. I guess as a result I'm struggling a little with all these new irons releases from Callaway and Taylormade etc... what are the actual differences anymore? All the testing seems to end up so similar, I don't understand why we'd all buy the newer models. And in fairness, we don't really need a 7 iron to spin at 7000, that's an old model that didn't exactly understand the decent angles. Those days have been long gone.
The problem I find with the jacked lofts and hot faces is I absolutely cannot control the distances as well, and thats multiplied by 100 coming out of anything other than a perfect lie!
In the start of the video you said you had the X model as well? What the heck? Where is it? Wasn't interested in the standard model.
