52° is a gap wedge. It’s only because the game improvement clubs are so strong lofted that instead of his pitching wedge being 46°, it’s probably about 44° or 42° and the gap wedge in the game improvement set is probably about 48°, so it fill that 8-10° gap.

@@jway717 his set gap wedge is probably 49, doesn't not make it a gap wedge. If you want to be technical about it, his setup would be pw, gw, gw, sw. But like I said, the stamp at the loft doesn't matter. Whatever gets him his targeted distance is what matters. His set 56 wasn't flying as far as he's used to, likely because it launches higher than a regular 56 he probably used to have.

These clubs are loft jacked like crazy lol. When you need a gap wedge between your gap wedge and pitching wedge cause you’re pitching wedge is actually a 9 iron. But hey when you tell all your buddies you hit your 8 iron 190 it feels pretty cool lol.

Hey Bubbie, just a little thing: maybe you shouldn´t look at your total numbers with your Irons and focus more on the carry number. Just cause on the course you´ll probably need them more to attack flags and stuff. For example yo have 150 to the flag, depending on the greens you want to know where your ball lands with your clubs. Other than that, great video. Greetings from germany :)

It boggles my mind that Callaway fit Bubbie with powerbat irons. Should have put him on some rogue pro's or the apex tours . No way in hell does Bubbie need a set of clubs that have a pw that goes 160. Hes definitely struggling to adjust to these. His tacomo set was just starting to take off in a good way, Bubs is a really solid striker of the ball, he needs to get that address setup fixed and these draw bias irons are only exaggerating that super closed address position. By next year his feet will be aiming behind him lol

I'll preface this by saying Bubbie is a beast... but honestly its probably an ego thing. You can tell he low key loves flying greens and exclaiming what club he hit. Probably the same reason why he aims so far right and shuts the clubface down and slings big pull draws in. Everything is set up for more distance. If he got fitted into a set that fit him properly with more spin and control, and sorted out his setup/dynamic loft, he would be at nice controllable distances with his irons. It would clean up his pitching and chipping too.

Thing is you said that you wanted to be more consistent and get stock yardages, it’s not all about being able to hit a 4 iron 250 yards, you hit the ball further than 95% of people, you don’t need to hit even further than that. Why not have an easier swing and not ‘step on it’ every time, would definitely improve your consistency…. The swings you were giving your wedges and short irons were great, if you could replicate that through the bag I’m sure you’d be at a higher level. Anyway, just my thoughts, but love your content brother 🤜

I think this points the club left to the target. I also saw that the track man data shows your club to face path at -9.5. Which explains why you’re hitting sweeping draws. Good idea may be to check your lie angle and see if there’s an opportunity to flatten the club to give you a straighter ball fight. Keep rocking bro!

As soon as he got to the 8 iron, his swing speed went up ~9mph. 7i went up ~12. Swinging hard as you get into more aggressive lofts will make your gaps inconsistent. Plus, just to mention, the gap between 3 wood and 4 iron could "potentially" be fixed if it was stock 15* instead of bent to 13*. I love the energy Bubbie and love that you like to smash the ball always, but just observing this video, if you swung clean and stock every time, you'd be very consistent and it would translate to your play on the course. Sweet vid though, as always :)

You are already a great putter so practice your putting and keep that up as well.

A short game coach and a few lessons would get you closer to a lower handicap or even scratch golfer faster then you think.

Remember bubbie, these irons they gave you are loft jacked, and are very hot off the face, low spin high launch. They will fly different yardages on you once and a while. I’d ask callaway for a iron set more suited to you. Rouge pro or the apex pros.

Super interesting video Bub, always curious about yardages and data and stuff haha. I'll say this, it sounds like you've only got 13 in the bag. I know the gap between 4i and 3w isn't a problem for you, but since you've got the spot available, I'd be curious if you went back to Callaway if they'd find a hybrid or a 7w that might fill that spot for you, just so that you've got it. Maybe you only use it 1-2 times a round, but it could save you at times. Just a thought for ya, much love brother!

7w are super underrated, but I think his irons are super aggressive in angle, so it wouldn't help all that much. He should just hit a 15 degree wood standard, instead of it being bent even more aggressively.

I just wish I had any kind of consistency to be able to find my yardages. It's crazy how you hit a ball and immediately guess within a few yards how far it's going. Can't wait to see the rise of Bubbie golf in GoodGood. You might not think it sometimes, but the way you've been swinging you CAN compete with Kwon and Garret. Hoping to see you make a comeback in the Dubai Major tomorrow. Keep up the hard work. It definitely shows!

So good to see your swing improving Bubs. Still getting inside in your takeaway but hopefully you can see it is much more on plane now than it has been for the last year. Your ball flight is looking reasonably consistent, and taking the right miss out of play is huge. If you can get your short game dialed in, you could start going low and competing with G.

READ THIS! Take painters tape, write your CARRY DISTANCE ONLY on it and tape it in a circle around the top of the shaft just under the bottom of the grip. And use the trackman average rounded down to the whole number. So 117.4 would be 117 carry and that’s what number you use to know your iron yardages.
