Thank you for a great demo of the new irons. Great to see how they perform in a realistic setting. Too many videos show endless perfect shots but you kept it real and they looked and behaved well. I'm in the market for new irons, my 15+ year old irons need replacing and these might just be the answer. Cost is a factor, but I'm lucky enough to maybe take the plunge if I can get on with them.
This is a great video. Andy's comments are informative and honest. The irons sound great, look real good and performed well.
I'm going to be 75 next month and play to an 11 handicap. I've been playing a set of Ping 'G' Series black dot irons with R flex graphite shafts for the past 6 years. As I've gotten older, I've lost a bit of swing speed. My typical driver swing is between 92-95 and my 6-iron carries about 140 plus a bit of roll. When my driver speed drops back to the mid-high 80s I'll probably make the decision to move to softer flex shafts. When that happens I'll probably pull the pin and get a new set of irons. Until then, I'll stick with my Pings. Thanks for the great videos! You're principally responsible for my selling my Ping 425 3-wood to a mate and replacing it with a 425 7-wood. Driver, 5 & 7 woods as a set are working well for me! And I swear less than I did when the 3-wood was in the bag! :)
Thanks for the great review. They certainly look very appealing. I bought takomo 101s mid of 2022 and still loving them. I've bought a hybrid and wood end of last year too, but they were demo models so the price was good. If I buy anything this year it would not be one of these new models (of the big brands) but rather something of 2 or so seasons ago..
Another good review! I was already planning on a new combination of hybrids and irons and was a little cautious of the new Callaway line up but after seeing and reading all the reviews I will be getting fitted for a new set up for my bag!

Good review as always. I appreciate your channel more and more Andy since your closer to my type of game than the other guys (except Sophie of course!). Keep up your great work and looking forward to hear more often of you in 2023

Much appreciated! 👍
Callaway had a fitting day at a local shop. I went to the Ping one the week before and hit the G430 irons. I think like most I was more interested in the driver. However, it became clear that the driver was casting a large shadow. The irons are really special too. I ended up getting fitted into the Paradym X and a stiff shaft. I've been playing a muscle back iron for a few years now, but my game is not to that level so knew I needed to swallow my pride and go back to a game improvement iron. I originally didn't want to pay that much for a set of irons, but they were the better club I tested. Looking forward to getting them on the course.
If I were to try/buy new irons these would be on my list. Topline has never been an issue with me as I look at the ball. I like the fact they are a compact game improvement and the improvement showed with afew of your early strikes on a Cold day.
Fitted for these the 1st week of January when i had no idea they existed (went in for T-100's or 225's but these stole the show). I've had them for 7 rounds now and started as an 8.9 and am down to an 8. I've played decent despite not striking the irons really well until this past round. Even my misses are handy, and that makes quite a difference.
Great review Andy. Santa brought me a new Odyssey Stroke Lab 7S putter. I'm good for new clubs this year. 👍
I’ve just been fitted for a set. Tried many different heads and these were the ones. I have P790’s and the look and feel so much better than them. Launch and spin numbers are a lot better and feel is fantastic for this type of club. Great video and it’s on the money 🤙
Great looking clubs. You hit them really well.
Enjoyed the review Andy. I'm not making any changes to the bag this year. They are nice looking irons and I'd be interested in comparing them to my Takomo 101s, which I think look nicer. I need to play a golf course with sheep roaming about. Bucket list for sure!!
Well done Andy!
Just had a fitting and these performed the best for me. Loved the height, flights, feel, and spin. Agreed it looks amazing behind the ball. Ordered them and now waiting for them to show up. Second choice was TaylorMade T100S and third was Wilson!

I was fitted for these as well. Swung Taylormade, Ping, Srixon, and these. Paradym was buttery smooth for me, even for a player's iron.
I am looking to update my bag with a complete new set of irons and woods. I like the look of the new callaway woods and driver. Have a lot of interest on the new Cobra signal length irons also. Will be getting everything custom fit also.
I bought the 0211 pxg because of your review. I completely love them. Got the 0811 driver also. Best I’ve ever hit. Still putt lije Helen Keller.
Great review, I got fitted for the x driver, hybrid and 5-P irons on Sunday. Going to be a long 4 weeks to be made.
They look nice on the camera, price of equipment this year and the cost of living means that pros might have a tough year selling clubs! Nice review as these clubs are aimed at players with a ‘varied’ swing 😮
I’ve just been fitted for a full set of the paradyms. I tried the ping g430 and the Taylor made stealth and felt the paradym were a bit meatier and felt allot more solid to me. I know everyone is different.
Andy, nice review. I bought a new set of Callaway Mavrik irons R- shaft last year - dispersion was terrible, distance was great. To be fair to Mavrik, it was probably the stock shaft. My Callaway Big Bertha irons (1996) with firm graphite shafts are like laser guidance accuracy compared to the Mavrik. I like older clubs so I found a full set of Tommy Armour Oversize irons (mid 90's era)in Goodwill for $27.00 including the bag. Regular flex steel stock shafts. Clubs and shafts were a 9/10 condition. Half cord grips are still good. They are long, accurate, and forgiving and without any doubt, they will match up with any modern day iron. In the case of the Mavrik, I think changing the shaft would have a big difference but it's too expensive to do that so I sold them. I'm a ten handicap and the last time I played with my old Callaway Big Bertha's, I shot 76. So no I won't be buying any new irons this year for $1200 to $1500 per set when I can go down to Goodwill and buy a set for under $30.00 that is just as good or on ebay for 30 percent of the original cost. Good irons will last a lifetime or several life times if they are taken care of. I have clubs that are 100 years old with hickory shafts and the original leather grips. I played them, too, but they don't hit near as far - maybe 2 clubs less distance. I have several sets of clubs from 1920 to 2010 and I bought them used. I like to compare clubs from different eras and brands and non-brands. The bottom line is, it all comes down to a good swing; the Mavrik iros were the only exception. When the price comes down, I will get another set with different shafts just to see if it was the stock R flex shaft.
Very nice review. These remind me of the TaylorMade Stealth. It would be of interest to see a head-to-head comparison between the Callaway Paradym irons and the TaylorMade Stealth irons.
I am going to buy these in the X's.. I just bought the Paradigm driver and lovvvvve it. Seriously a great driver
I was going to try them at a fit test this weekend. I'm a bogie golfer (18.7 Hndcp) Thanks for the review.
A very honest and personal review. Keep up the good work and may I agree with you on an earlier video the ‘Mez 1’ is the future 👍
I’m playing with 23 year old blades I got in 2002. I have bin looking at all kinds of irons. So after watching your video and others I’m now ordering these irons in 7.6,5,4. And I’m going to order the Apex MB in P,9,8 irons. I was a 3 handy cap 13 years ago now I’m around an 8. These should help me out in the long irons now that I’m 46 years old
Nice review and pars :). It's hard to give an opinion without seeing in person or using them. That said the styling of these irons seem like they are aimed more toward younger or newer golfers which is probably a good thing (assuming this demo is looking to spend money this year). The drivers seem interesting in technical design but only time will tell how they play out.
Just lovely content, thank you!
Irons are on my list of upgrades this year. My top contenders are PXG Gen 5 0311 P or 0311 T.
I've been playing with Callaway X14s for last 20+ years and planning to replace this year. My shortlist was Taylormade P790, Mizuno JPX 923, Callaway Apex 21/DCB. Following your video I'll be adding Paradym and perhaps Paradym X to the list. They are all pretty expensive however if they last me as long as my X14 then that's pretty good value.
Thanks for your videos on the new Paradym line up. I’ve tried them at a shop and compared them with other options. Found them a huge improvement over my 9 year old Pings. Ordered a set. By the way the word “paradigm” is trendy word for a new generation of seeing (a product, philosophy etc.). Here is a definition from the internet: a fundamental change in approach or underlying assumptions. "geophysical evidence supporting Wegener's theory led to a rapid paradigm shift in the earth sciences". So…. A very appropriate name, even though many won’t get it! 😮

@@brentwiley3330 I have really enjoyed them. Very satisfied with the purchase.
I've just bought the Paradym 3 wood and 4 hybrid. Incredible clubs
I’m not sure if you’re aware Andy, as I haven’t seen you review them, but Callaway released another family of clubs at the end of November. These were the Great Big Bertha. Driver, fairway woods, hybrids and irons. The irons have a huge amount of tech and tungsten weights screwed in the bottom of the head. This has made the irons about $790 per iron in Australian dollars. Now remember, the Bertha line of clubs are aimed at the high handicap player as a super game improvement iron. That’s a price tag of $5000 plus in Australian dollars for a set of irons aimed at a small market. Now if these paradym irons, and there is a larger head available called the Paradym X are going to be half the price for a set than the new Bertha range, then I would give them a try and see if they are as good as the higher priced irons. Cheers
I feel that for someone looking for game improvement irons, and the level that player will generally be at in their game, they are a big investment. There are a lot of good 2nd hand options out there. You can pick up a set of Mizuno JPX800's for around £200 which although a few years old now, look and feel great.
Irons are on my list in the next 3-5 years. So, it will be super nice to pick these up used and for way less then lol.
Great job Sir! As for the new lineup in the irons, kind of remind me of the Mavrik’s if that was orange instead of blue I’m not sure we could tell the difference.
I really like the looks of the new Callaway irons, Have not heard a bad review of them yet. Lost a lot of distance in the last few years, would be a big plus to gain a little back. I used to go around the coarse and just play my irons, I scored just as well, as I would have taking my woods. The only difference was the par fives.
Great review as per usual Andy...since I am such a Magpie for shiney things and Custom Leather Headcovers (just got RobertMarkGolf covers for my Driver-Fairway-Hybrid) these just arent quite ticking the box for me...looking at both the Apex 21 and the Mizuno 923 forged but being a bit of a Titleist Fan Boy myself I am wondering what they will be puting out in August to replace the current T200 irons, just not sure that I want to play my T300s for another season as my hcp has trended down and is currently at 5 and the fact that at 67 years old the seasons for more of a players/players distance iron are dwindleing but sure would like to relive some of my youth while I still can and hit a more forged feel type of club.
Really nice looking irons.
Am a 11 hcp currently playing Tylormade SLDRs irons , hybrids and a Callaway razr fit driver.. all about 10 years old ..so looking for a complete bag around March. I had set my mind toward the Ping G430 lineup....but now god knows lol. Great review.

I was just fitted into a set of Paradym irons. Tested the Mizuno Hot Metals, Taylor Made Stealth And Stealth HD. Also tried the new Srixons and the Paradyms was best for me.
Classy and elegant with much different look. Not on my radar I’ll keep the Mizuno JPX-921 Hot Metals in the bag. Paradym is just too pricey for me, but if you got the cash and will never miss it…will look great in any bag.
We know you love your PXG irons. How do the Paradyms compare to the PXGs in terms of feel and distance? Another good video. Thank you.
Great review!
They seem very interesting… but a new set of iron is not on the shopping list this year, maybe a putter… in the last year and a half, I got Cobra RadSpeed Driver and 3 wood, Wilson D9 hybrids and Irons and Cleveland Zipcore wedges… I beleive my set to be perfect for me at the moment. With the economic situation right now, I’m keeping my money for golf lessons and golf course fees. Again, good review! Keep up the good work!
Good review.
I'm new to the channel and enjoy your videos very much as for new equipment this year I'm ordering Callaway Rogue ST Max irons 4 - PW, GW, AW, SW, and Rogue ST Max driver For hybrid, I'm going with Epic Super hybrid 17 degree. The new paradym clubs look good but I can't afford them this year. Thank you for another great video.

Welcome aboard! and thanks for commenting!
No major changes in the bag this year. I have it set up how I like it now. If anything, maybe try a couple different balls, or maybe a new wedge... good review!
Keen to change my irons soon. P770’s are my current top of the wish list but I’ve not tested anything yet.
I'm liking 2023, I think I know whay equipment will cost (alot) seems like last 3 years it has just rocket shipped up. I hope they saw here for a long bit. Yes I'm digging the Paradym set from Driver to irons. Like the colorway based on it being different then most hollow body been stripped down to simple metal, which I like but this gives us golfers different options on looks in same style of clubs
Will be getting fitted in spring for new irons and was thinking Ping g430 or Mizuno JPX 923 would be the winner but am open to whatever performs best. Would like to see comparison with new Sub 70 that would be about 1/2 the cost of the Paradym,
I just hit a few of these today. A playing partner rented an entire set; woods and all. First thing is, i liked how they looked. They had a nice players iron look to them. Not a huge fan of the blue back on them but that’s just being picky. When i hit them they were fairly long. I’m 56 and i normally hit an 8 iron about 145. I had a shot that was 152 and uphill, probably playing about 160. I hit a shot right over the flag to the back of the green. Probably hit it close to 170. I’m just not used to that kind of distance change. Granted, i normally play a more standard loft. But these irons hit high and long. I didn’t even really hit the sweet spot either. It sounded like a snap when i hit the ball. Like a twig snapping. These are certainly a set that i would consider. They seem very easy to hit. However, i don’t have an extra $1400 laying around so, i don’t think I’ll be getting them. But they are really nice and seem like they would make life easy for a few folks. I don’t think there’s a spot on the club face where you couldn’t hit the ball. Maybe the entire face is the sweet spot?
Still loving my apex pro 21s. Driver looks interesting but I’m more worried about the 180 and 200 yd shots. Working with the 19 ut wood and flash 3 wood
Andy- my TM M4s are a couple years old. It will depend on “ the power source” aka the golfer. At 62 if technology can help I’ll consider new irons. However I often buy second hand so might be 2021 or 2922 models not Paradym
Another quality instalment from The Average Golfer. For me, the looks let this set of irons down. Specifically, the insert. I am not a fan and think it will date very quickly. I played the X18s and always hated that thick top line. I think Callaway could have disguised that visually on this model and made it look thinner. There are plenty of examples of that from other manufacturers. Not for me, but great review, Andy. All the best!
I think folks are calling the Paradym's a players distance iron and the Paradym x irons are the game improvement irons.
It would be nice to see a review of the Paradym vs the Apex 21.
Just had a fitting, never thought about these. But oh my gosh , 30 yards increase on my 7 iron plus very Straight, so I bought 5 to gw
I really need to replace my entire set. I am back into golf after 6 years and could only afford a second-hand set with nothing really suited to my game regular shafts for a fast swing 🙈. Golf clubs in South Africa are ridiculously expensive, and I can't afford to replace anything. But I am impressed with the paradym drivers as well. I wish I could get it in my bag
This year I think I have to settle with a new set of grips… (and probably some dozen golf balls) 😅
Well structured & interesting review Andy. I keep a watch but don't tend to try out irons. I tend to dabble at the top end of the bag. I'll probably look at a new Hybrid when the TSR's come out. What I'd really like is a small headed 9 degree driver on a short shaft, but that's probably akin to a unicorn hunt.

These irons shocked me. I play off 5 and typically play “players” irons. My previous irons were MP-18 MMCs. I was convinced I was getting t100s. Fitter gave me these and I initially gave them no shot. Then I went 10 for 10 from 180. They aren’t typically what I would go for in looks but they are pretty compact with very little offset. Couldn’t get my wallet out soon enough.
Great review again. I am looking to upgrade my irons. 7 years old. Not new and no I do not like the looks of the paradigm I will likely look for Pings like 425 or 525. I will give these a go but way too much money for brand new with little to no advantage.
They look like a package set. Sophie over at golfalot reviewed them against the p790 and the Taylor mades performed better for her in every department.
Just went to my local shop and tried them out I was going to demo 4 other irons and we threw these into the mix it was scary how straight they shot I just kept hitting them down the middle price tag definitely sucks but man they shoot incredible
It is interesting that you classify them as Game Improvement irons (targeted at mid/high handicappers) with some Players irons properties (compact head size) while Callaway has been classifying them as Players Irons (targeted more mid/low handicappers - Rogue ST Pro territory) with some Game Improvement properties (increased distance, higher ball flight, and less dispersion).
I absolutely don’t like the look of the backplate, but the rest of the irons in terms of shape and size I do love. Wish they would bring a blacked out version though.
Hey Andy, as in if we are thinking about purchasing this year , I just bought the Ping G430 max yesterday, such a better sounding driver compared to the 425 😊

Didn't the 425 sound terrible!? Lol. The 430 looks great, but I'm not taking my ltdx out of the bag for a few years. It's doing me justice
I’d be interested if I had the money- I’m a massive callaway fan and these look nice and new but also traditional callaway shaped. However there is no way I can justify modern iron money for new clubs. My 2018 rogue irons will do me for another few years
Getting fitted for a full bag on the 14th. My old clubs are Mizuno JPX EZ Forged from 2013. With Ping G30 woods. Time for new sticks.

Paradyme is a play on the properly spelled paradigm, meaning a typical example or pattern; a model. So the change is in the balance: a wider, bulkier top line coupled with the look, feel, and sound of a player’s club. So Callaway has pulled off a “paradyme shift” for the masses. Marketing genius.

Stick to PXG, the price to value is the highest in golf now. The big manufacturers have gone completely of control with their prices! 600 for a driver? Come on when PXG can sell theirs for 299? You can’t tell me that the extra 300 will make THAT much of an improvement! IMO you’d be better getting PXG clubs for half price and use the rest of the money for lessons! THAT will improve your game, buying a 600 driver ABSOLUTELY will not, unless you play on tour of course!

I'm waiting to see what the new costco irons review like
Good review of some nice clubs. As far as buying new clubs , I bought enough last year & with Covid rearing it's ugly head again this year, won't be play'n as much.
Not a fan of the thick top line, but there is a limit to what they could do with a hollow bodied iron. Apart from the top line I like the look of the irons. The lofts are too strong for me (29 in 7i), basically a club stronger than I am used to, but equally not as strong as many game improvement irons. I suspect most people buying them only need 6i-PW in them
For the money, the pxg 0211 irons are a steal.⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳
I was looking at the st pros, but might just get these instead
Great review. I'm definitely replacing my old AP2's before the next season. After what I've been seeing, I really want to try out these Paradym's.
Does it compare more to the P790 or the Stealth? I would be a little concerned about dispersion? Especially front to back. Ric
I would really like to see a review of the Paradym X
I play graphite shafts in my Apex 21 irons by Callaway and I was fitted for the KBS 85 g steal shafts in Paradym X. I’m a 13 handicap, senior golfer. 12:15
Be interesting how they compare to the TaylorMade P790
Jack Nicklaus used to say he only hit 20% of his irons true. So on that basis I would judge a club more on the not so good strikes.
Suggestion for head to head test. Paradym 7 iron against New Apex Pro 6 iron. They are the same loft. Play the 7 iron at 37" & 6 iron at 37.5".
As a guy who has only just started hitting 105 on championship courses wherei livehere in the Philippines, I had my eye on a mixed set of Clevelands. 4,5,6 halo, 7,8,9,P, G launcher. I'll be around Chester on the 20th weekend (hoping to come in and do the deal) and 28th weekend( pick up the clubs and anything else that catches my eye). Can you guys sort that for me, sadly it has to be cash and carry as I'm back to Asia and delivery is not an option. Not looking for super customised, my game isn't that finessed yet!
Just a thought, why do we still keep commenting on a bulky top line on irons? This is the way 95 % (?) of all clubs look like? Since 15 years or more. We're not commenting on how big a composite tennis racket is compared to Bjorn Borg's old Donnay wooden rackets? :) I've gamed both blades and "modern" clubs. I would be mostly interested in trajectory & lofts, if they're easy to aim to the target and if they produce spin or not. PS. Love to watch your reviews of new clubs. Looking forward to next video.
The performance seems really good and while the price is high for these I don't mind paying for max performance, however I can't get over the name and looks. Truly a hideous monster Callaway has created.
Andy, I do have a tight budget. Due to some foot surgery last year, I postponed buying new irons last year. I might wait and see the irons Costco will be releasing this year and the price point they will set. I really don't want to spend more than 700.00 US dollars.
Visually, these are just the exact opposite of what I look for in irons. The back has color and it's extremely crowded and busy-looking. And they're chrome. I like the shape of the heads, but if they'd gone for satin and a cleaner-looking back I'd be trying them out. Of course, I probably WILL try them anyway, I'll hit them really well, and they'll end up in the bag for 3 years. 😆
Hi there! As a man who has tinkered with countless sets of clubs, drivers , putters and fairway woods in the past. I am not particularly happy with my current set up but with all the new releases coming in at such a high price I just can’t justify spending such vast amounts on new clubs. I have an even considered the best recommendations for training aids instead but they too have shot up in price. Some of these items look like they would cost only a few pounds to manufacture but are all coming in at well over the £100 mark. I think it could be a bad year for the big brand golf producers and maybe that’s not a bad thing . Are they all getting a little greedy? 🤷♂️
I noticed the lawn mowers are environmentally friendly. 😂😂
Looks like you’re playing golf in February in the United Kingdom. I thought it would be too cold. I’m from Minnesota and we can’t play at all until middle or end of April. When does the season go from in the United Kingdom? Thanks.
I am 100% buy new irons this year, I wish I liked the looks of these more... at the moment I'm leaning towards the new srixon mkII when it comes out. I also like the look of mizunos, all really depends on how the fitting, and distance dispersion goes

Andy I am honoured to be considered a clown by your good self. Throughout time from Shakespeare onwards the clown, or Harlequin, has been the teller of the truth. In this case you pretend to struggle with pronouncing paradigm. Happy New Year
I don’t plan on buying anything new. Had my PXG’s for about a year now. Bought the gen 3’s after the gen 4’s launched at a much better price. Could upgrade but don’t see the point as my yardages are at the max of what I’d want them to be. Driver, 3 wood and 5 wood are all gen 4. With the new rules and allowing more clubs, I’d be tempted to add a 7 wood or a 4 iron. Perhaps a chipper lol
