In this video, we cruise from Southern California to the mountains of the high desert, in search for beautiful quartz crystals.
As we make our way up the decomposed granite slopes, we are met with the sight of milky white quartz float, scattered sporadically throughout the terrain. And the occasional previously worked veins.
Although the sight of the float is tempting, we continue up the slope to the ridges we know are both promising, and less explored.
The first pocket we found, which is shown in this video, had some awesome crystals. Some that are nice and translucent and some that have a very pretty luster. The second pocket, which will be a separate video (part 2), was found on our walk back to the truck. I found it about 10 minutes away from the first spot at the next ridge down and I was able to locate some cool Smokey Quartz.
