I was pretty surprised to find that black tourmaline, maybe I'll find some whole crystals next time. Those garnets were definitely worth the trip alone🙂

Those garnets are so sweet. The facets are awesome. Show those wicked coastal mountains more, I love that cloud shrouded look.

for sure!! I love the rainy weather we get here, it was like 30+ degrees for a few days here but we only got a high of 17 today. I hope to explore that area for more crystals very soon🙂

This was such an awesome video buddy, you have some amazing hounding grounds. Those biotite plates and the terminated feldspar was super cool stuff and seeing the garnets made me want to explore a place Ive heard of around here. Great vid man and talk with ya soon!

for sure!! garnets are my favorite mineral just because there can be so much variety, so far I've only found two varieties but there's a few others that have been found here in BC.

Really neat and pretty finds. I kept wanting to reach through the screen and give you gloves though.

@@thatmeanpersononlineoffend9376 Thanks!! I think I'm going to try and check the stores around here but if I can't find anything I'll probably try buying online, those gloves look really nice for the rainy and cold days.

You had a great day rockhounding! Beautiful garnets, tourmaline and feldspar! I will need to look at exposed rock areas in my area a lot closer to see if there are any nice rocks waiting to be found.

Oh and a grout brush works great for what you were doing in this vid and are really lightweight/cheap; plastic, stiff bristle. Later buddy 😀

I'll have to try that out sometime, thanks for the tip!! At the moment I just use a soft bristle brush and some soap but it would be nice to get into some deeper crevices🙂

Small strong magnet on a string for retrieving your lost chisel.

@@danielbarrows7144 Yea I was thinking about that, it's a good idea but the chisel went way deep into a crevice, I'll probably still try it though.

This is awesome! You make me want to go to my closest boulders with a hammer and start looking for shiny rocks !

You never know what you'll come across if you look. There can be some amazing finds in the strangest spots and in the places people would least expect, have fun out there😃

For sure!! I forgot my flathead at home so i decided to just try it with a Philips. A flathead definitely does a better job😅

I think I'm going to keep these ones but in the future I hope to sell some of the gems I find. I'll probably make a video when the time comes but for now I might just do some giveaways🙂

Man, I’ve broken se many points trying to get them out of matrix,.. that garnet is huge compared to ones that I have found

the crystals that are attached to matrix can be quite hard to extract. The best thing you can do is make sure the shock from the chisel doesn't reach the base of the crystal. I can't wait to go back to this spot to see what else I can find😃

For sure!! a good pair of gloves and a flat head screwdriver works well. I honestly wasn't expecting to find any quartz crystals there so I'll have to bring some better tools now that I know🙂
