Спорт

Quite Succinct review of these trucks, Love it Man! And you've mentioned about you were riding tall bushings(b-side) and plug barrel (r-side)[correct me if I were wrong] and concerning about that setup do you necessarily need to put cup washers on the board side while rockin' tall bushings in it(for more center feel while riding it)? That's all for now, Have lovely day :)

Woahhh, you're skating in Mass. I feel like there's almost nobody who skates here anymore. I literally have footage on my channel of one of the paths in this vid.

Hey friend you seem to know about the subject, do you know what are the differences between a caliber 3 and a caliber 2?

Biggest difference is that they now have a variety of options to pic from, I got the raked trucks which are very different to cal 2's (more turny/responsive). The best place to go for more info would probably be the Caliber insta page and look for the post about the Cal 3's

it looked to me as if his first ,actual ,technical detail mentioned w/in the 1st 3 minutes of this review ,he acknowledged that there are two hanger widths ,184mm / 10" & 157mm/ 9" versions. And that he opted for the 157mm since he's been on narrower truck setup for past 3 years (& 6yrs on precisions) . not throwing trash at ya , it'd just kinda be hard to miss him mentioning that🤨

Yeah they only come in 44 and 50 so to try a real split you would need to grab a wedged riser

@@ChemTrailSkate fwiw, I swapped my existing setup ( 160mm chopped cArsenal 44°/35° split w 7° dewedge on rear) over directly , using the new 157mm,44° Raked Shimmed Cal3s Instead. I found the advantage of the split baseplate angle setup was unnecessary with the stability of the CalIIIs. They performed as good as that , as stable as that setup , more leverage over the turn/lean and better feel when left symmetrical . I am usually very technical & have a very particular bushing feel I like which is also split duro , assisting w that lower angle rear stability for fast freeride .... the Cal IIIs performed better than that when I removed the back dewedge 7° riser &:mounted the trucks flush then only 44° baseplate, w the 3° raked hangers . I tested the setup w my split duro still in ( 90a RS venom barrel+93a venom plug RS w flat washers on both RS&BS back & 87a venom plug BS+85a venom barrel and flat washers front) the new trucks . It was too unstable . I just returned the OEM venom plug/barrel combo back into both front & rear . only tightened the back kingpin nut 1 added turn of tightness= absolutely perfect. if I'm bombing over 30mph ,I might put the plug 93a boardside or back but haven't really needed to after time on these trucks . I have custom chopped Ronin Katanas on race deck ,Castanas Ronin, Arsenal and cArsenal & had ridden rakeless Cal II s for a long time. I had saved enough to buy Aera K5 for the deck ( Rayne Skyline) when these Cal3 came out.. I took a chance on them & boy was I surprised; they turned out to be so good once I upgraded the pivot cups to Riptide 96a red cups for Caliber , I did not want the Aera . I used the remaining money I'd saved to buy $600 K5s on wheels ,bearings , new shoes/brakesoles, grip ,an S1 retro and some higher quality crash shorts Instead. the deck I run these on is Rayne's Skyline from 2021. It is so good with these trucks I don't need to touch them & my skating is solidifying each sesh . Cast Ronin are a bit different so I exclude those when I omho and say that these are the best designed cast trucks yet made for freeride. There are other trick details Caliber left that I've yet to see anyone mention ,but imma leave that for another time. this was a great detailed review of a truck that can perform almost as well as a precision truck which costs 10x as much and should provide any skater who gets them w a high quslity experience right out of box. I hope it was cool to add this to your post comments. I normally wouldn't go this much into detail but these trucks have made this significant of a difference in my skating.
