My videos and articles come from a position of pure sharing of my knowledge: a knowledge that is never ending and grows every time I have the humbleness to say "I don't know" and learn from others. From you, today, I learned that there are still good people out there that see the hard work and get inspired to do even better. I will surely check your channel. those sticks have been lathed out of oak wood. They are two of the three arms of the wooden dummy I built. You cannot find'em for sale, but you can build them. Here's the link to the page of my project, with all dimensions: www.martialartsexplained.com/wooden-dummy-instructions/

Excellent video Master Fabio, I have a doubt Master when it comes to conditioning the calf muscles even those of the forearms said muscles should be contracted or relaxed. If the muscles contract, does the hardening have no effect? Thanks, greetings.

Hello Yender, muscles should be relaxed when practicing conditioning exercises. Think about a trampoline and a panel made of glass: which one adapts better to impact? Conditioning your muscles when they are contracted is not a good practice: first of all because your whole body tenses up (even more for trying to win the pain), second: because impacting on contract muscles creates micro-injuries to your muscles fibres, that you will surely feel the next day. I hope I answerred your question. Fabio Zambelli

@@martialartsexplained-real Really, thank you very much for your answer. Master Fabio had no idea about that detail, he made me understand why he did not progress when it came to hardening his forearms through impacts, thank you. That is why I love martial arts, it is always in constant learning, and thanks to teachers like you who share their knowledge without selfishness, I will continue training and in a while I will comment on my progress, I wish you health and successful greetings, OSS.

Do these exercises affect the length?

  • @martialartsexplained-real

Hello, and thanks for your specific question. The length of your individual muscles won't be affected, as long as you try to keep you calves relaxed: tension is the main enemy for exercises like these. Plus, a targeted post-workout massage + some specific lotion/herb is highly recommended. And don't forget a minimum of 10 minutes of warmup (jogging and cycling at top), as an increased blood-flow is the best preparation you can do. Thank you forr this question: added to the FAQ of our website. Fabio Zambelli

Obviously your muscles do not rest and sit hard, they are hard when upon EXCITEMENT. Very different concept but,
