Really nice utility row at the top; built in power too (saves 4hp). If I needed a portable case, this- rather than the 4ms, Intellijel, or Nifty alternatives would be the one i’d go for. Excellent demo Dean- thanks! *Jealous*

Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! Well, which MIDI to CV module you choose is a BIG decision... There is a huge list of options on Modular Grid under "Midi". 😁👊 I also use the Polyend Poly 2 module for midi to cv/gate and midi CC but they've discontinued that module now....

The Nifty case is probably more affordable but like you said, the built in modules make this case a good deal.

Hey Hey, Jim! Yeah, the nifty case would for sure be a nice way to start off, too! 👍👍 I had no idea that I would get so much out of just having the 1/4 inputs and outputs always being there as part of the case - so easy to integrate with everything this way!

How does this one compare to the Nifty case? And which one do you like better?

Hey Hey, Professor! 😁👊 I don't have the Nifty case, but from what I know of it - it's a little more budget friendly for sure. You don't get any of the **features** that make this case so special however, like the 1/4 inputs and outputs, plus the other built in modules that are making the Caixa so convenient to use imho. I also think there are a lot of plastic parts in the Nifty case, where this one has a really amazing build quality, with all metal construction. One last thought - in a video I saw on the Nifty case, the audio was getting distorted when the guy ran hot signals through it, he said it was not too big of a deal - if you just keep all the signal levels in check to prevent unwanted distortion in the system. Conversely, I run **CRAZY HOT LEVELS** through the hi-quality components of the Caixa, and was never even able to get to full volume on the inputs or outputs because it was just too loud. The Caixa LOVES hot signals, and I can run *ANYTHING* through it with no worries of overdriving or distorting the inputs/outputs. It's been simply magical to work with. The quality is just *dreamy*. ❤
Most of my modules have jacks at the bottom and it is not useful for me to have a top row of 1U utilities. Cable mgmt is fukt with a top row of utilities. This case is a fully-hard no. Extra big no on all cases like this regardless of mfg. But it’s for sure only a preference thing. Powered and complete with totally useful bits is a nice touch.

Hey DEAN great review but you omitted your favourite from demo DIGITAKT would love how you would set this up with detailed info of Midi, Audio connectivity,also the patching between Case included modules and ones you put into case, like the Midi to trigger module I have and connectivity to Sample drum module and what other trigger connections via separate modules in case??? All I can say is Loike it ACE, DOPE,EXCELLENTI 🆒🎶🎶🎶🌟🌟👍
