CABBAGE DOLMA | RECIPE

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Cabbage Dolma or Cabbage Rolls is one of those recipes that shared by many cultures. Dolma actually refers to anything stuffed with a rice-based and beef filling - from cabbage leaves to vine leaves or peppers. I have shared the recipe for Dolmas with vine leaves recently - you can check out here: • DOLMA (STUFFED VINE LE...
Ingredients:
1 head cabbage large
300g ground beef
80g rice
2 onion finely chopped
1 bunch coriander chopped
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp salt
olive oil
For the sauce:
300ml water
1 tsp salt
2 tsp tomato paste
olive oil
Instructions:
In a large bowl mix the uncooked ground beef, rice, chopped onions, herbs, olive oil and spices (salt and ground cumin you can add other spices of your choice). Mix until well combined.
Cut the head of the cabbage at the bottom and place in the microwave for about 10 minutes until the leaves are softer. Then separate the leaves carefully one by one. Leave until cool enough to handle
Take one cabbage leaf, place a tablespoon of stuffing on the border closest to you, roll the edge of cabbage over it, and fold the two sides of the cabbage leaves inward and roll. It sounds complicated but it’s just like rolling up a carpet.
Repeat for all the cabbage leaves and stuffing.
Place each stuffed cabbage roll in a pot with the folded end underneath so that it does not unfold.
Into the jar/bowl of water, add salt, tomato paste and olive oil. Stir well. And pour into the pot with rolled cabbages
Cook on a medium heat for approximately 1.5 hours or until a fork easily pierces through the dolmas. Serve and enjoy!

Very smart. Just microwave the cabbage, not boiling it.

Remove the core (cut off the hard part of the cabbage). Dip the cabbage into boiling water, and take out the leaves one by one with a fork. Cabbage leaves separates in boiling water, will be easy to remove with a fork. Hope this helps

It’s dolma - and a lot of the world’s cuisines are similar. Please educate yourself about other cuisine before making such statements.
