Join Fy Nyth on social media - mewe.com/i/fynyth ! If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for "My Nest") in general, welcome! I'm Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/arielcelestepho... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

Ariel, thank you sooo much for being a useful, thoughtful inspiration to this old man and his family. I have watched you since back at your yard in the trees. You have continued to bring true joy through your videos of your gardens, critters, your homes built and planted with hundreds of trees and vegetables. We are retiring on the Little River, in East Tennessee, this coming December and we are grateful for your most excellent lessons and example. Clay is a fortunate fellow and seems to be a fine man…(a bit camera shy). 😊.

Enjoyed the vid. Great to see Burley improving and so energetic. So sorry to hear about Clay's mother; my condolences. I'm making a garden similar to yours, starting over a year or so after you did. Going heavy on the food forest concept, and I built a high tunnel this year that's basically cattle panels over raised beds; my own design, but it's been a blessing so far.

Was more nervous than I expected watching this video, as i have been very worried at the lack of Burley in your content. So relieved and, so glad Burley is improving I do hope his jaw continues to mend and he can chew on bigger sticks. His recovery is testament to your diligent and well controlled care, which I bet was super hard when all you want to do is spoil him when he is sad or in pain. Please pass our condolences to Clay on the passing of his mum. Looking forward to cwtching (welsh word 😂) by the fire and lots of cooking video's, and future plans for the garden and new house (Ty Newydd) Much love from very a very rainy Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

You have some really good sized red cabbage heads. I remember your video years ago about the Danish Red Cabbage recipe. 👍 I've not tried growing cabbage, but would like to .. although, I tried brussel sprouts this year and they got eaten badly by those yellow moths .. ugh! I tried putting mesh around them and then a bird got caught and I was like, I'm done! We got the bird out and he survived.🥰 At your elevation perhaps you aren't troubled by those yellow moths?

I grew 200 pounds of potatoes in (5) 30 feet rows on less than a 1/4 acre here in Cheyenne. My favorite are Kennebec's. I had a pretty good cabbage season as well. The red cabbages did exceed their normal size. But, I had some pretty good green cabbages as well. What variety of red cabbage are you growing? I grew Mammoth Red Rock this season and some Red Acre. We are trying our best to get more than 5 acres, but we're still waiting for our house to sell. Peppers really struggled this season for us. It was just too cool and wet all Spring & Summer.

so happy about Burley's health....one question off topic, could you please do a demonstration of how to care for and trim your lamp with the bag wick, is it a coleman? or an aladdin lamp? I just don't know how to change out the little net bag on a lamp, and I have one that was made in 1900, it doesn't have all the parts but I am searching for them. would like to know exactly how to trim it, that's what mama always called it anyway, replacing the wick bag thing...do I even make sense to you? I have searched youtube but no one that does the lamp like you have, just a camping lantern....thanks...
