When I was growing up I loved nothing more than going fishing, usually on the Skykomish river, and in my late teen years all I wanted to do when I grew up was be a fishing guide. I remember reading all the time about the guide Buzz Ramsey in the magazine Salmon Trout Steelheader and he was a legend in my book. I always wished I could go down and spend a day fishing with him but of course it never happened and things changed. Instead of becoming a guide I ended up joining the navy and the time I had to spend fishing dwindled. Eventually I got out of the navy went to college, got married, had kids and now the desire to get back into fishing is strong. I've been binge watching Angler West TV episodes and it's cool hearing all these names I haven't heard for years. I can't wait to get on a river again!

2014 September we fished Buoy 10 for Coho. The first day we hooked 12 fish released wild Coho and one Chinook. We ended up with four keeper Coho. We stopped at Warrenton Fred Meyer and I ran into Buzz. I told him how we did. I also told him I tried spinner but not one bite. He asked what size spinner. I told him a 6 or 6 1/2. Buzz told me that was too big for the Coho to try no bigger than 5 1/2. He even looked to see what Fred Meyer had and all big spinners. I told him I thought I had a few small spinners. Ended up I put a spinner on that was probably 4 or so Red and White with a red and chrome flasher. I also bought a spinner at Tackle Time. That Red and White spinner ended up getting us a three fish limit each, that year they upped the limit to three hatchery Coho. The third day we fished we got six Coho all ranging from 10 - 12 pounds. Never been able to tell Buzz thanks but I guess that is what he does helps others catch more fish.

Those river beasts are as chrome as the ocean kings!!!! Wow!!!
