The "Super Bowl" of Salmon fishing kicks off each year on August 1st! Watch as we head out to learn where these unpressured fish are staging on the first day of the season! Follow along as we bounce around this 40+ Square mile area in search of thousands of Salmon, beginning their upstream migration to the Spawning grounds. This is a difficult fishery simply because the Chinook and Coho flush in and out with each tide change and can move 20 miles every 6 hours...every day is a guess on where to start and how to adjust throughout the day!

    16oz weight set up has me interested. What speed are you trolling and how much blow back do you experience effecting your depth ?

  • @DayOneOutdoors

    @DayOneOutdoors

    In Astoria, the scope is dependent upon the current at depth! Sometimes we are near straight up and down, and when we are nosed into the current, they are sometimes just barely under the surface! The best thing to do is trust your electronics and change your depth to where the fish are cruising!

    Wait till you see them in the estuaries of creeks that the runs are endangered in .now that will make your blood boil.much as i like them it should be legal to shoot them when they steal from your lines .theyre smart and would soon learn to give man a wide berth like they used to when it was legal to do so.

  • @stingray4540

    Why doesn’t every guide carry a shotty with rubber slugs? You could really help with the broken by putting one in their head. It’s legal, use it.
