Saw this tank at the Bovington Tank Museum recently. Its a BEAST! Went and bought the model so this will be my next build.
Love your videos, very helpful for someone like me who has spent over two decades modeling 1/48 Luftwaffe fighters and is looking to get into German armor. Keep up the great work it's so enjoyable to watch!

This is by far the best model tiger I've ever seen. Great job! I'll definitely use this to paint my tiger!
Great looking job Andy, love the ambush camo. I just picked up one of these kits with a metal barrel and PE parts, looking forward to building it using your video for reference, thanks for posting it!
When I was little, I bought it for my parents. I am grateful.
I'd like to see the Academy King Tiger: Last Production (1/35) tackled by you, Andy, it has the infamous 'octopus' camo scheme and can be built with the narrow transport tracks.
great build of this excellent tamiya kit . well done Andy
I love your videos Andy, I like the paints showcase and also how you explain everything .. really informative.
Excellent build Andy, and a great tip for the dot pattern👌👍
Your new community on G+ is just fantastic! It's so much fun to see, what other modelers built, or to share your own creations.

Someone actually did not like this video? How can you NOT like these videos. They are easy to understand and pretty much explain everything step by step. I thank you for sharing all your SBS videos.

I wouldn't 'dislike' this video because Andy has one of the finest channels for model building going, but even he is fallible. He skipped over quite a few rather important steps such as the mesh covering with the double-sided tape (included in the kit- and not a standard part of a build), as well as skipping over the build and mount of the entire loading breech (separate from the fact he used a metal gun barrel) and quite a few smaller bits and pieces which, because Andy builds in different order to the Tamiya instructions, can make it quite confusing whether to go ahead with a certain part of the build or wait.
Never would I have though about the card to paint the camo dots on. Amazing job! I need to graduate highschool and get back into this when I have a job 😄
Turned out great! I really liked the camo pattern you did for it to.
everytime you make a new video it makes me happy! love your videos.
This man loves this hobby! I have this one sitting on the table now, I'll build soon. I've been working on it for a week or so. I'm just not in a hurry these days.
Beautiful job Andy! I wish your store was a little closer as I would definitely be a regular customer. Once again, well done. Cheers.
Excellent job, Andy!!!

Really enjoy doing Tamiya king tiger, you just need to change the track and replace it with metal one and you get a really awesome king tiger. Good job, Andy!
I have this exact model and thanks to this video ,I have some more idea on how to paint and add some weathering Well done
Nice build! .. my dad was deafened by a Tiger 2 in WW2..I recently got a Tamiya 1/35 Tiger 2 and I like it. thanks from NZ 👍🇳🇿.
I did the same build about a month ago and it was my first German tank, and my first non-America model, I did the same paint but I didn't do it as heavy in color, I put the German cross on the back top of the turret, I wish I could send you a picture so you can see what it looks like, but I like your videos and enjoy watching them and learning!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hey Andy, great build, and I love the paint scheme. Just a little tip if you want to go into tiny details, use something solid to bang up the mesh on the engine deck, it's just a nice little detail to add. Cheers
Very nice love the camo. The dots really do make a difference. Steve U.K.
thanks Andy for this great video !
Im building the very same kit, and it is very helpful to watch your vids!!!
Hi Andy, I follow youre channel for a long time and just made this kit Youre video was a great help and i learnt a real lot from it. I'v seen this tank live in La Gleize (Belgium). Thanks gr from the Netherlands.

I try to get my King Tiger like this amazing paint job :)
watching from phillipines good work
Ive been building models for about 2 years now, I just leave them bare, in this one video you have put more effort into one tank then all the effort it took to build all of mine. If I ever do paint these things im probably just going to flat panzer grey them all, haha!

great build!
Good job Andy
Awesome King Tiger
Great video as always keep up the good work.
Brilliant model... wow
All the Tiger 2’s I’ve seen in person had rubber tired wheels. That includes Bovington, Aberdeen proving Grounds in the early 70’s, ( before the move to the museum at Knox, and the La Gleize, Belgium one in the late 80’s. I don’t doubt there were some because of the quality rubber shortage, but I have yet to see one. Good job.
excellent work.
i love that build, I just built the 1/48 king tiger/tiger 2 yesterday!(but I lost both of the machine guns including the second armament gun)
Beautiful!!
brilliant video Andy well done mate

What I use to hold parts like the fenders is the tack putty. Found in office/school supplies. Teachers use it to put up posters etc with out damaging the wall and paper.
Nice work, Andy)

I’m getting one of these for my birthday and I can’t wait and I’m getting metal tracks so basically LEZZZ GO
Andy, just an advice for building future German cats with the exhaust protectors on the rear, the bottom part of the exhaust protectors are not closed, because when it rains you don't want them to be filled up with water which would damage both exhaust and engine, you might wanna use something to remove it. Its sad that there are still kits like Tamiya not noticing them.

Nice, another quality build, I remember building this one as a kid, loved the box art and the film battle of the bulge, with Robert Shaw, nice film if you've seen it, although they used different tanks to represent shermans and king tigers

The movie Battle of the Bulge with Robert Shaw. They used u.s Persian tanks for the Germans. And u.s chaffie tanks for the Americans. The Persian tanks might be even a M-40 u.s tank.

@@refealibazeta7886 Also, I recall readingthe following: Contrary to what the German propaganda films show, King Tigers were not part of the main assault during the Battle of the Bulge. The King Tigers were considered too slow & unreliable for a mission that required rapid advance in muddy winter conditions, so Panthers, PzKpfW IVs, Jagpanzer IVs, and StuG IIIs/IVs were used. However, once the main German thrust was halted & the Allies went on the offensive, they did encounter some King Tigers.
Great video
Very nice!
your the best tank painter and builder ever good job Andy i ame subscribd ;)
Heyo, I've been watching your videos for a while now. It's always nice watching you build, as you really know how modelling and painting works. Could you, by any chance, do the Tamiya Sturmtiger? Nice kit, even has some interior.
Nicee vid. i have been making models for 40 years, made this same model some time back. i think yours is much more precise. Also i think the individual track links look much better.
I think that King Tiger was one of the best tanks during the Second World War. I'm sure its potential wasn't realised by the best way. As for the model, it is very good. TAMYA provides a high quality. For me it is very important. The author of this video makes a very good job. Sorry for my English.

The King Tiger lacked some of the characteristics that make a main battle tank effective as both an offensive and defensive weapon. It was under-powered which meant poor mobility/maneuverability, it was not mechanically reliable, it required very frequent maintenance to keep it running smoothly (even if it didn't break down), it was impossible to mass produce, and it consumed great amounts of fuel (which was always in short supply for the Germans. Realistically, the King Tiger wasn't even the best German tank. Once some early design defects were corrected, the Panther was the best tank the Germans useed in WWII. Generally, the T-34 and Panther are considered the best tanks in WWII.
very amazing!
As always, a beautiful build. My first model was zvezda king tiger. If you want something novel, try zvezda kits. They're pretty cheap, with good detail and easy to build. Zvezda has an interesting feature in their panther ausf d kit, it has single link plastic tracks which, when built, are fully workable and they sag realistically. Can't say the same about king tiger tracks, single link tracks that aren't workable so you really do have to think ahead when building.

Good build
As always good job ! Andy when you make some airplane ? I would like to see your airplane work ! :)
good build an vid again Andy ..........Looks like you forget to paint the bowmaschinegun
Just ordered this online, along with the 1/35 Tamiya German loading crew for my next diorama project.
Thanks for making these videos. Its interesting to see how a more accomplished modeler assembles a kit. Your previous tips from another video on thinning paint really takes the guess work out when it comes to airbrushing. I remember shopping at your old location in El Cajon, CA. If I'm ever in Arizona, I will not hesitate to stop by & buy some things from your store.
Any tips on mounting the spare track lugs to the sides of the turret? Try as I might, I can't get them to be straight (forgivable) or even stick in their little indents. I'm considering omitting them fully and puttying up their slots at this point.
Cant wait to get mine
Thank you. Very nice.

Wow what a masterpiece!! I got the kit and will try to do this myself, using your video. But i never get the effect of the dry-brushing. I have tried it myself, but i cant seem to get the effect! Or i'm doing it wrong.

Tamiya 1/48 scale is awsome, some of them even have a die-cast chasis, it feels so solid, but I do have difficluties on installing the wheels and tracks. I hope you could build a 1/48 next time
