King Tiger full of scratches - Tamiya 1/35 - Tank Model - Part 2 [ Painting - weathering ]

This is a video of King Tiger painting, weathering, and completion. I tried to express the appearance of having passed through fierce battles many times, such as fenders full of scratches, with weathering. The scale model that I make while thinking about the background of the times is really fun and profound.

I agree. Too much weathering on them. They do look like they were in service for 30 years. I was in a mechanized unit for 6 years and our vehicles were old when I got to the unit. They were no where weathered as much as this model.

beautifully weathered but if you don't mind me saying, i doubt the King tiger would've been that weathered, i'm building one right now and when i research the actual films, they look nothing like as weatherd as yours or what i imagined it would look like too.....they only look as weatherd as yours after they've been wrecked and abandoned. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qIhkyLuuhJnWfbA.html

Well, the video you linked and the videos you were watching were all shot by German propaganda artists, who rarely captured (tank) film from actual combat. This is to say that they have a bias towards presenting footage of nice, new, clean, Tiger IIs rather than the disrepair they would fall to on the field.

@@malcolmmacdougall yep, same as carrying empty ammo shells for no reason and all those gallons of flamable fuel next to the engine exhaust. You would have never seen anything like that, neither in this or in any other tank, anyhow i get the artistic purpose and aesthetic of making the tank superduper weathered but is not real or accurate.

That's too much weathering on the tank. Have to remember that the Tiger 2 wasn't in service that long before the war ended. I was in a mechanized unit for 6 years and our vehicles didn't look that weathered or beat up and they were old when I got to the unit.
