Loved the project, saw these a bit and felt I had to give them a try to better understand the world. Immediately validated idea as these are wonderful peeks into the world and potential of Obojima. Can’t wait to start the next episode :)

I'd love for something that hinted at Howl's Moving Castle. Like a house/Inn on legs that walks around on occasion!

The idea of a School of Swords and your character being quested to go around and beating these Teachers gives off a very Pokemon vibe. Which works really well in setting. Could even expand and have it be some old practice to ensure the young kids who wanted to venture out to be ready by going through these Trials.

I really enjoy this podcast! Around the 12:00 mark, they discuss what makes Okiri Village such a safe place. What if there are no evil/dangerous spirits, or perhaps the spirits there are in harmony with its inhabitants? This could be due to a (hidden) guardian entity that watches over the spirit realm in this place. Or it could be tied into the overarching plot of corruption, for example, Okiri holds the secret to fighting corruption. Or just an intriguing mystery. I look forward to seeing how this world develops!

I’m currently running a campaign in forgotten realms that is heading towards a climax involving immaskari technology at which point the players may get stranded in another dimension. Probably around the time Obojima releases my party will be trying to stop their villain from using interdimensional tech. Planning to drop them on the island when everything goes horribly awry…

I feel like a 'Witch' should be in Okiri Village that does general help but us what really wards the village from Spirits. To control the Witch as an NPC (From thr DM side) , if the Witch leaves Okiri village will be invaded by Spirits. But it also opens up a plot hook that the Witch leaves, is killed etc and now its the parties job to find out how to protect the village.

I would love a small playtest version of an obojima village just that dm's could come up with their own versions of a starter village :)

I haven’t really been watching these, but I decided maybe I should watch one since I backed the project, and it might give me some insight into working with other people on a project. Not only has this video made me a lot more interested in the setting, but watching you all discuss ideas like this is really inspirational.

I love this! I will say two things. I hope sharing like this doesn’t add stress to your process! We all just want yall to finish the book. Also it’s so hard to listen and not be part of the conversation, so many ideas. This might be the thing that gets me into the discord.

I'm so glad you like it! We were nervous the first time shooting, but as we got used to the camera and microphones things got a lot easier. You can tell in episodes 2 - 4 that we really start to cook with gas! That being said if the podcast ever starts to slow things down we'll be sure to keep everyone in the loop! -Jeremiah

does "Obojima" mean anything? I can guess -jima comes from "shima" meaning island in Japanese, but does the "Obo-" mean anything?

Hi, as a backer i just want to ask about the beta testing materials, the ones we have are more of a teaser, the potion making seems fun but we can't try it because there is not sufficient information. Thanks in advance.

Great question, The writing team has spent the past 5 months working on developing the world and mechanics. Now we are transitioning out of the development phase and moving into the playtest phase, where we'll work alongside the community to polish up the mechanics we've been working on. I say all that to mention that very soon backers will be seeing a lot more content. -Jeremiah

It would be cool for the schools on the west side of the island to have more theoretical knowledge on how to fight danger but better swordsmanship and the east schools have a more practical knowledge as they actually fought it (Ranger, barbarian). The east schools view the west as weak with no experience and the west view the east as incompetent and barbaric in their fighting styles
