I like seeing how ideas evolve through conversation.
There should def be a nakudama drum circle track
A mechanic skill is not really needed. Tinker’s tools and smith’s tools handle that. Xanthar’s guide discusses how to use these when repairing and understanding machines

If someone is not proficient in either tool, they would make an associated ability check. Intelligence for understanding, Dexterity for handling fine components, etc.

That's the best part about D&D, you can just ignore whatever rules you want and it still works, as long as you're having fun. Though I know my DM loves having specefic skills for every little thing, so some people really will use it, even if it is entirely arbitrary.
I love these podcasts and I can’t wait to play everything you folks talked about!!!
Nakudama sound SO COOL! I can't wait to play one!
As a GM i would allow to use the tounge for a touch spell as long as it doesn't require verbal components
My head cannon is that for VHS tapes is that most VHS tapes have (really bad) spirit dubbing and it makes watching the tapes so much more surreal. Since they take place in a world obviously not their own and the people are speaking but the way their mouth moves doesn't match what is actually being said. Bad translations and they keep pointing at something that obviously isn't a jelly filled donut and calling it that.
Y'all keep talking about whether to have the croak or the saliva: why not give the players an option to choose one or the other?
this is episode four :)
Wouldn't the nakudama be pulled to the creature they are using a touch spell on? It's not quite adding extra range, because this will put the caster into melee. Nakudama with mobile feat sounds fun.
In regards to the scavenging ability, it could be a bit of a overhaul and work to put into it, but why not make a compiled list of parts/materials like you guys did with ingredients for potions? And have a table where certain combinations of parts can make different mechanical objects? You could then even go a step further and then those mechanical objects you crafted from materials could even be combined together to make actual machinery. When players initially go to look for parts in an abandoned machine, you could roll on a table to see which parts they fine and how many, though they may not know what they'd be useful for, they could make a check with Tinker's Tools, or an Intelligence check to successfully combine them into a part for a larger machine. A lot of work and a little complicated, but just food for thought.

I stopped the video right before they mentioned portion ingredients, oops lol
Is a translation planned in the future? German, French, Italian etc.
