an interesting concept, perhaps the distinction between demons & devils could be that demons are corrupted spirits & devils are corrupted mortals...
Just found out you guys were doing this and have been binging these episodes! Made supporting the project such a no brainer - I wish other projects would just speak candidly on their vision/process like yall. Thank you for these!
The spirit world warping non-spirits into a demonic form reminds me a lot of the way people are warped in spirited away. The idea of an elder spirit becoming a demon also reminds me of the great river spirit becoming a mound of trash and filth through pollution.
I get so excited to listen to these every time they come out. Cant wait to play my own game in this world.
39:40 maybe places that were super well loved/lived in/had lots of energy, even if the physical building (body) is gone the spirit remains and its like a ghost ship that can travel.....but a ghost building? i hope this makes sense. i soooo get into your discussions and just think up stuff along with what ya'll are saying. thank you for doing the podcast process
Wandering Line!!!!! Yessss... Mooooorrre...
45:23 yes, yes it is. next kickstarter project idea! obojima 2 exploring new depths
If you guys make another Obojima book, expanding on the Spirit Realm would be a great idea!
36:50 so maybe if by having a building or structure there for long enough it gains its own 'spirit' and having that spirit now makes it corporeal on the spirit realm.
What if these amalgamated structures acted as gateways due to the unique ability to enter a house on one plane and leave the house on the other
Love all these vids, thank you for sharing!
I’m late on this but what if undead are not spirits, but a disgruntled spirit of some kind can trap the souls of the living in obojima, creating the undead.
Nice
When you were describing how demons are transformed spirits i could already see multiple scenes in front of me where my PCs first encounter their first demons. A few sessions later they learn that demons can not enter the spirit realm.Again a few sessions later they learn that there is some connection between spirits and demons and then it climaxes in them experiencing how an elder spirit is transforming into a demon and suddenly everything clicks. Overall I love the whole spirit realm shenanigans that are possible here 😁
At what point do these guys just make a game based on the Advantage and Disadvantage system that uses a d20? Not everything needs to be 5E compatible to sell well! I backed this Kickstarter because it gave me Windwaker vibes, not to feel restricted to the core principles of D&D 5E. Either way, these podcasts are great and I am really looking forward to the final product! I just wish the book came in A5 instead of A4.
Oh my goodness... JOHN 4:24 GOD IS SPIRIT. The bible has 27 verses about God is Spirit and you've not mentioned Him once.
