You don't seem to have any digging teeth at the tip of your auger. I believe that would help. A call to an implement dealer could be helpful.

Lol I ran into same problem on mine once I replaced the worn cutting teeth on it it worked great. Plus using a steel bar to help apply down force helps in hard ground
Great to see a tractor that’s being well cared for 👍
We built our feed troughs on the outside of the coral so they could get only there heads through for feed and hay . One or two 2 × 6 on the top and two solid 2 × 8 or 10s on the bottom . That way they can not waste as much feed and hay . Less pushing and fighting , and same with the pig can't push and get their feet in the troughs ? Vertical bar or board is a good idea as well 🤔
We did this for our cows and it has been great. Thank you for sharing.
Evan, you and Rebekah really work well as a team and it takes both running a farm, a lot of work all the time, but the two of you do a great job and keep everything in check.
Great job on the feeder and water troughs, you and Rebekah did a super job on it and the fence. The tom turkey was protecting his girls, doing his job. Thanks Evan, for sharing your time with us, have a great week to you and all your family.
Those 2x6's look like the ones you saved from the pig floor. good for you for saving those.
That was a little scary with the steers running and kicking ..... they were just showing their love for the green grass LOL
Evan, please go to Pengo Attachments and order some weld on holders and replaceable bits. I worked at an equipment rental store for several years and we used the Pengo T36 weld on holder and 1336LC replaceable teeth. I promise you will be amazed at what a new set of bits on a worn auger will do.
I love how much your are upgrading your farm all of the time. It's going to be real nice once you retire 👍 Loved seeing Rebekah ❤️

TYM loves giving away their tractors! I have a T25 and it's awesome.
Great video my friends hope you all are doing well and take care of yourself all the best for the future thanks again Joe
Looking good guys. When the boys started running after Rebekah i thought she was going to get run over. Lol
Great content. You know that tractor post hole auger can be sharpened, grind it to a chisel edge. Some blades are removable, those can be sharpened and then hardened for longer life. I enjoy your videos.
Evan Ihad an Idea for you On the back of the Post hole digger weld some bracket to put weight on it to dig .
Great video Evan and Rebekah
Hubby said "Buy a new tip for the auger. "
Would love to see you try to tackle building a metal round bale feeder over the winter. Less waste than dropping on the ground. Plus your welding videos are probably my favorite ones so asking for selfish reasons lol.
bec adds a lot to the videos, thanks.
I have duplex soils. 6" topsoil then 18" gravel before I hit the hard clay. That way I get to dig 2' before I need to add water. 😁
Great video great to see all the changes to your farm.Lots of hard work but you always seem to enjoy the challenges with a smile .
Dang that dirt was like cement! Always Love watching what you guy's have going!
Great job Evan and Rebecca, turned out great. Might throw some dirt over that gravel in front of the water tank so the stone has no chance of entering the hooves of the steers. Check them if they start walking funny. Watch the turkey, yes he is protecting what is his but it and he is yours and get his attention or he will get worse and become dinner sooner than you might want him to. Stay safe and keep up the great videos, you all are doing a great job around there. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Two things Evan. First you need to get a spud bar. It can be used to break up the hard dry dirt in the bottom in your post holes before you use the "clam shell" to dig it out. Second, I was not able to tell if your auger had cutting edge teeth on it. It did not look like it did. Get a couple of teeth for it and your life will be so much easier.

Add a Weight bracket to the top of the Auger assy to hang tractor Weights on .
Good to see and hear Rebekah narrating, and out from behind the camera. Well done, too.
The more the tractor can do cleaning out the stall etc. the better since winter is coming and so is the muddy season. The tractor has become a godsend to all the tasks and will keep most of the mud off your rubber boots.
Great job guys, Tom Turkey was making sure you didn't make a move on the ladies! LOL
Good fence, good position , with a slope for better drainage. Im Third generation cattle family. The plastic feeder will not last. You could add a board inside so the steers dont rip easily it off the fence..... But I expect it might last a year at most. Id suggest a cement trough is the long term choice.
Don't fence me in!!!! Nice work.
Dang that dirt was like cement! Always Love watching what ever you guy's have going on!
Yall work together real good!
Hey Evan and Rebekah ! Greetings from Michigan! Loved your team work ! We love it when you guys share your efforts working together with us. Everything looks so good ! Love the "boys" 🐃🐂🐃 ! I think it's axing that all your turkeys are offspring from Ole Tom amd now they're all grown ! 🦃 ! All your hard work that you've shared with us is greatly appreciated ! Thanks for sharing guys ! 👋
We never mind watching just you, Evan but there's something about a husband/wife working together which makes even better video's.
My last post hole diggers had a big replaceable tooth on the bottom that seemed to make it dig thru anything except big rocks
I love the way you made the feeders
I really like it when you both are working on something. And I love Rebecca, she is so sweet. Those cows and other animals feel the same way. I hope you are making things better for you taking care of them this winter. God bless.
Look behind you and down in the hole The tree is sucking the moisture up as quick as you pour it in lmao good luck
Great team work very nice result!!!!
And the tree said: wow, extra water, nice! Digging near a tree a always a challenge in itself 🙂 I'm afraid the feeding system is going to have a hard time with the stears, quite curious how long it's going to hold. I grew up on a farm. and one of the rules of thumb was "don't attach anything to any fence, ever".
When i was a kid a friend of my parents got a white stallion from a man who couldn't take care of his animals anymore. When the friends wife went out to feed the animals this stallion would go crazy, snorting and winnying angrily. One day the gate to the fence hadn't been shut all the way and this horse got out. This woman went out to feed the animals and this horse took off across the yard to her. She ran and picked up a 2x4 and turned when this horse got to her and smacked him up beside his head a good one. He NEVER got aggressive with her again. 😁
Looks good Evan Rebecca have a great day.
Evan you need to invest in a digging/tamping bar to build fence with, it will help you on those hard bottom holes and tamping the posts in with, good job on the fence build, I actually just got in from concreting in some posts for my corral. Also, if you had an auger for the front loader you could put down force with the loader, I converted the gear box from a 3pt auger to hyd. I can give you some tips if you want to tackle a conversion
That dirt you were drilling reminds me of putting in a fence for my back yard. 4" to 5" of topsoil then hard as really weak cement slurry. I was digging about 8" or 10", poking holes in the bottom adding water and letting it soak. My 3' deep holes were dug with a hand auger, UGH!
We use a pointed bar to poke holes in clay soil , Clay is impervious to water. Our huge water cattle tanks had clay bottoms and never leaked. Also after poking holes with a bar , Put a couple of table spoons of dish soap in with the water , let set over night with a five gallon bucket with a slow dripping , plus it covers the hole so nothing can fall in or break a leg ? The gravel is a great idea for any dug post holes , allowing for less rotting even if treated .
I sucked it up and bought a new drill tip for my auger and it made a heck of a difference in how it would grab in hard soil/clay like that.
Nice picture clarity,
I believe it may be time to make some turkey jerky!! 😂
When you stepped in the feed ben. You forgot to say.... that's not going anywhere 😀😀
Well those feeders and water trough are about as nifty as pockets on a shirt! Good job!
Another great video guys!👍🏻
You need to make a weight for the post-hole digger to get more downforce. Maybe a metal box of some sort that you could fill with gravel which would make it easy to remove when doing maintenance.
Hello If you weld an old concrete drill with a thickness of 1-2 inches to the tip of your earth drill, drilling will be easier.
I worked with my grandfather many years ago and put a lot of fence in the old timers would take bricks and rocks and put at the bottom one one rack at the bottom then fill in for about a foot rocks around all the sides and then for your grab more dirt you can just put dirt and then it don't matter so I just wanted to let you know maybe it'll help you out thank you have a good day
Good Job Guys!! I Love the Fence!! Great Idea on the Feed Bunk!! God Bless and have a Wonderful Week!! 😊❤🌹
I know I had Tom be the guest of honor for thanksgiving
Great job, looking good!
Great job you two!!! Looks great!!!
Great Job,,,Looks real good...Remember I've got your back and you 2 are doing great job fixing your farm....Just waiting for your next video....your jobs are just how I would do it, too !!!! Be Safe...
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Great job love your videos thank you
I looks good Bud. Keep the great videos coming Evan
I really appreciate your content. I'm surprised the tom doesn't like you, Rebekah; all the other animals love you.
this might make drilling holes easier.... I soldered a hose fitting to the end of a 6 ft copper pipe and I now drill with this water copper pipe thing it works amazing with little effort... It might give your holes a start for the larger drill auger.
Well done
Fantastic Job
Rebekah, it looks like you and I shop at the same shoe store for our barnyard foot wear.🤣
Good Job on the feeder. The only thing I would have done was position it 4 inches on other side of the fence. Just below that 3rd board. That way you can pour the feed in from the other side and it will be lower for when you put smaller cattle in there. It would be a little safer with the big boys. You can always change it up when you get new steers. Just a thought.
Rebecca loves her flip flops, a good Ole country gal. Love your program
You are awesome 😎👍👍👍👍
If you remember we spoke about that same issue we have here. Try 120 holes just like that!
Rebecca, maybe remind Mr Tom Turkey that Thanksgiving is coming soon. Evan, one of my goats chewed the channel knob off of my radio headphones.
Hi Evan, You need to put a cutting face on the bottom of your post hole Auger, that will cut through the hard ground. Much the same as a drill that has a hardened face on it Our soil in the old home we had was gravel in Australia and the post hole digger was just like this.
I love your new cattle setup. I also love your team work!
...LOOKIN' GOOD, KEEP SAFE..
Looks good!
Hi Evan and Rebekah, we had almost an exactly the same fence pole digger that you have, but ours had a rectangle holder on the top, to hold fenceposts, like a rack, and on the sides there where hooks to hang weights onto, like for examle front weights to a tractor, that was what we used when the ground was that hard With a few weights on, it dug into almost any hard packed dirt 🙂 your projects always looks so good, and adds to the comfort for both you and the animals
Great job very nice
Excellent video!
It looks real nice and it is getting the job done.
Great job 👍
Tell that Tom it is very close to Thanksgiving. Tell him you may be having several people over for lunch and you will need a large turkey. Love all your videos.

Good watch, looks like shelter hay feeder is well liked.
There's always a job to do on a smallholding!
Nice job that you both did.
Evan, next time you struggle to get the auger to drill down use your front bucket to push down with lifting the front end and that will make your drill dig without struggle.

Great job👍👍
Love it! I wish our Arizona landscape was as green!!
If u can remove the pilot point on the auger, after ur down a little bit that will allow the digger teeth to contact the soil. Good luck!
The barnyard is really coming along. Were you able to resolve the water issue in the back barn loafing shed? That TYM sure is nice. Maybe Rural King will step up to the plate with a compact tractor so you can maneuver in those tight places better. I think TYM builds those as well.
Wow that's some nice work on that feeder.
Evan your a decent welder so you can do like I did. Rig you up a small platform on top of the arch of your post hole digger so you can put weight in it. It does help in dry conditions.
Nice job
Sharpen the points and cutting edge on the auger.
You can use a 3 foot drill bit to start the hole
Rebecca, You do realize Thanksgiving is a few weeks away. That Tom would make a nice table center piece.

They sent a lot of toms to freezer camp already, it's just too bad this one is not friendly to Rebecca. ☹He's pretty though.🦃
looks like a case of hard pan. compacted clay layer below the topsoil. only way to go through is let the water soak through over a day or so.
Mud on the face beats having a turkey footprint.
Use a digging iron to loosen the dirt at the bottom of the hole
