I really LOVE your videos & You as a FARMER.!! I like how you Think your projects through and you are reusing a lot of what you have on the farm what does running to town and buying a Lotta new stuff. My father was the way you are in many ways but I just like watching how you work and this was a wonderful video of taking something you already have and turning it in to another very Purposeful Shelter for a different type of animal and it turned out wonderful. I also like that you measure your stuff not once but twice and you build your stuff correctly and not sloppily!!!!! I don’t mean to try to embarrass you with My comments but I am sincere about it. I have seen a lot of men work and they just want to hurry and get the job done quickly and they don’t take pride in your work or integrity about their work. My father always said “if a job is worth doing, Then it is worth doing right!!” And that seems to be the way you work. You also are constantly thinking through your projects and doing everything you can to make what you’re doing right, and by that statement I am referring to you added your extra links onto the prongs and then you observed how it looked and decided that you needed a little more links instability both so you provided that as well I need a student hurry and you didn’t just hurry in to what you were trying to do, Causing more problems for yourself. Anyway that’s enough flattery LOL I am anxious for the Little pigs to be Added to your farm. And to see what type you get. Everybody has their favorite breed. Thank you so much for taking us along on your videos and sharing with us!! God bless and have a wonderful day
Man can do a lot with a few C clamps and the right attitude 👍🏻
Evan, you are a Jack of all Trades. That was a fantastic idea to make a chicken coop into a hog coop. You saved time, work and money by using what you have. The piggies will enjoy their new hoop. The lift extension was a brilliant idea in moving the coop. Rebekah you have a best friend. He knows when you are near and he is going to get a treat. The both of you are fantastic homesteaders and I love watching what’s going on on the homestead. I be waiting for the next video to see what’s happening next. A repurpose job well done. Thanks for sharing. God bless you both and bye for now.
T-posts on the corners screwed into the 4x4 posts and maybe a 2x4 or bigger across the front of the pen to help support the two front corner posts together. By the time you get this you’ll be setting down over supper ( dinner) which ever one you call it a light bulb will go off saying this same thing but maybe that’s why we’re here to think for you sometime.
My Grandmother always said “Where there is a will there is a way - just stop and think”. You are a great example that it is true.
I've gotten my cornish cross from Cackle Hatchery for years, never disappointed.
Don't worry about making us feel safer or happy, if you're comfortable with your idea, roll with it. Those pallet fork extensions are clever thinking, what I call farmer ingenuity! Well done, Evan!
...i'm sure the hogs will be happy in the new condo...lol..keep safe..
JudithB Great recycling project! A little paint and never know its salvaged!!
Hog shelter looks great. Might not hurt to stack it down, be terrible if a big wind flipped it. Also would be good to coat the siding with water sealer. Make it last much longer!
Evan that's what we call jury rigging. We all got to do to save money. I liked your fork extensions 🤔 that's using head!
Looks good! I'd probably drive some tpost on the corners to keep the pigs from pushing the structure off the blocks
For a moment there I thought "what could possibly go wrong". But I should have known you'd have it under control. Well done, and great re-purposing.
Hi.... Evan and Rebecca nice to see you, thank you for showing your video homestead chickens duck goose farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐣🐥🦃🐩🐕🐈🐐🐄🐖🐝🌱🌺🌹🌻🌼🌸🌷🏡🎥👍👍👍
You have made a great farmer good luck with pigs!!
That's a lot better then alot of other pig shelter I have seen. Rebecca loves playing with the animals great job guys.. Great video
I am always impressed at how clean your tractor is. I wish had the time for that. I got the grapple you have. It is my go to attachment 😀
Your farm your job do it your way. Nothing to loose if you are slow in the going.
100k coming soon Evan! GREAT JOB!!!!
I would still love to see the back side of your barn where you began working on it last fall. Maybe tell us your new plans. Is it possible that some of that wood is from what you removed from the barn? In that case awesome.🧡🧡🧡🧡
Your animals hit the lottery when they met your wife. Also that was a pretty expensive hammer you had putting up the siding. Another great video. Thanks!
Quite worrying about what all the "couch experts" think. I they did a full time job and then came home to work the homestead they would probably have a heart attack. ❤ You and Rebekah just keep being you. Homestead engineering!!!! How's that go....git er done!!!
For future projects use your concrete mixer and form with lumber and make 6 to 8 foot concrete post to with no.3 rebar for reinforcement they would make great post for small permanent shelters and sheds.
Dawn liquid soap with water in a sprayer will kill them (wasp) go heavy on the dawn
Your doing a great job watching every video you put out but be careful feed cows walnut branches they are toxic to them I didn’t know tell i started working with trees and same with cherry trees
What great savings using a former chicken coop. Saved money and labor time on a rebuild. They should be quite happy in their new home. Evan, I am afraid your brown steer is going to be a permanent fixture on Country View Acres. I doubt Rebecca is going to let him go to freezer camp. LOL. I don't blame her though. That has to be the tamest steer on the planet. Y'all have a Blessed day.
Between your channel and “Hometown Acres “ the race race is on to 100k
You got this buddy 😳😂
Thanks for the video, always enjoy watching!
If you was in the Dallas area you wouldn't worry about heat lamps. Our high Tuesday the19'th was 108.Today the 20'th is going to be 109.
Fella, I have to give you your props. You have a VERY creative mind. I have watched you do various things in your videos and many things that I would never have thought of that truly worked out well! Great video!
Use to work at a mill, they just had the shop take some C- channel and build a couple long fork extensions that just had a chain keepers to hold them on the fork lift. Used em for years.
Silva Bros tshirt!
Something to help with hauling stuff around is using tie down ratchet straps at least 2 inches wide and hooking to the bottom front than hooking to your forks and tighten it up but not to tight.
They are so cute.God Bless, the best.
You like your drill hammer? I love mine. It’s very handy at times like we saw!!!!
Nice work Evan Rebecca have a great day.
I gave up on cross head/Phillips screws a long time ago and switched to Torx/ star type. No stripping out the screw head or grinding of the cheap made drive bits. Front end loaders have so many uses.

I also like the Robertson or square drive.
Grate job guys love it look like it will be good for your pigs he ha love it from steve c from state Oregon
Suggestion: Think you should stack the four corners as the pigs are strong enough to push the shelter off the leveling blocks!!!
I'm thinking that when those pigs get a little size to them they will knock that shelter off the blocks or rub on those rails hard enough that they will spread the front legs at the bottoms. You're going to need to brace those front legs so they can't spread.
Like the chickens ans great pig shelter
Good evening, great job. Steve from N.B Canada
Good job Bro!
Thank you very nice love your videos
Wow, for hardware cloth that cutoff wheel really cut through it quickly.
Maybe fasten it down at the corners. Put posts well into the ground and fasten the shelter to them. Rooting and rubbing pigs can shift almost anything
Well that worked out perfectly! Love watching!
Love to watch you come up with good plans and work them out !
You guys do an excellent job of repurposing used material. The pigs will love it. Thanks for sharing with us.
Very nice work!!! 🔨
WELL DONE!!
Thanks for the extra C clamps!
Nice Dewalt hammer you got there Evan.. 🤣
Whenever I have a load longer than my forks can handle I use ratchet straps to hold the long end tight to the beefy part of the fork frame.
Hello from the Netherlands and thanks for the video . Sincerely Hollandduck
Evan, I have to admit you had a great idea for the extensions to move that pen and it worked very well and now you have a shelter for the pigs. The old Marine adage of "adapt and overcome" fits you well, as you always come up with a plan that works.

Congrats Evan! Today, 7/20/22, "Big Jobs Need Big Tools" reached ONE MILLION views. Great job on that video and all your other videos. Congrats to both you and Rebecca and thank you both for all the hard work in creating your videos. I truly enjoy and appreciate your channel.

I will be cutting hay again soon. The alfalfa is blooming.
Sweet video thanks 😊
Nice work. Great editing
Totally addictive videos
One of the most bestest things about working a farm/homestead, is using what you have..👍👍💚🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥
That's the homestead way to deal with problems
Evan, you da man, bring on the pigs! Great videos and job!👍
Looking forward to seeing the pigs.
I like then way you handle your tool...tape. 😉
That barn is a great thing for the animals and I'm sure the steers will enjoy that shelter for the winter.
Loved the "Hammer Drill"
Amazing work
Those pigs are so lucky to have a nice big shelter. Chickens are so cute.
Oh my goodness, those pallet fork extensions were such a simple yet unsafe solution to your problem! 😂 Those kinds of solutions come from years of experience with a "run what ya brung" mentality because the store is an hour trip away and, if you're like me, you don't usually have the time or money to spare. 🤣😂
Good job dude fun video Evan 👍🏻
Very nicly done
Can't wait to miss the pigs.
Great job as always, really enjoy watching all of your videos.Wish you could put out a video a day.💯👍👏❤️🙏
Good way to reuse/ purpose that pine and saves money. Or doesn't waste money by throwing away wood
While I’m glad this worked out well, there was a part of me that wanted to see the structure crumble. I must be going through a destructive phase. Chicks were really cute.
Really nice job
Great video!👍🏻👍🏻
I'm going to hafta look into getting me one of them there dewalt combination screw driver/hammers. Just love versatile tools. 😉😅
Thanks for the video . love the new chicks .
Well that worked out just fine. Everything is coming together.
Yay! A new Country View! RAID ant and roach works well as a cloud producer in an enclosed space, to kill several wasps nests at one time. SMART to use those resting screws for the new braces! Rebekah be salty! And sweet!! Ingenious work, there, Mr. Evan! And thank the Lord for that tractor! Farming in Pennsylvania: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mquhtNZ_marck6g.html
Only thing huh oh i have to say Don't ever get under that loader. If the right hose/seal or the pump fails, that thing will drop like a rock. I knew you'd have a solution for those forks!! I've done that myself. Extensions aren't that hard to work up and the tubing works way better than the channel type. Just have to be a little extra careful since you can't lock the tubing to the forks. Great job as always Evan!!
Well done, Grasshopper. Nice job. Fireball is really fond of Rebekah.
A friend of mine said that he has used old camper shell off pickup trucks for hog shelters he live just north of Jay, Oklahoma and he raises registered Tamworth hogs for meat and breeding sales
Maybe you could get on of those stick trimmer and mow at the bottom of these objects that are coverd in gras!? I've heard the STIHL one are pretty good! Yeah well they may be expensive at first sight, but they totally make it up in longevity! Whereas the cheap one, they last just a couple months and then you have to buy a new one. Consider this, do you have a lot of sparetime to run around and get a new one or do you want a machine that lasts 4 times as much!? Hmm well it's your choice I just want to give you a heads up...
awesome idea
Could the pigs push that thing off its blocks? Might wanna pin it into the ground. Also small triangles at the top of the entrance side will help stabilise any wobble if the pigs lean against a wall.
Nice videos
Well ... at least it wasn't another fence 🙂
Great job!
Great Job Evan on repurposing that for the pigs 🤙
Good job!
Great job! God bless❤
Good watch. Like your inside rub boards idea.
You’ll Never cease to amaze me!
darling little fuzzballs
really enjoy watching your farm projects
Great video! Thanks for sharing! 👍
