Build Announcement: Trestle Table

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

My next build is a Contemporary Style Trestle Table. This table build will meet three goals: 1) A wedding gift for our friends, 2) build up my skills and confidence, and 3) free downloadable article and plans so that the viewer can follow along if you so wish.
Link to the free article and plans: www.popularwoodworking.com/art...
I'll be altering the plans to accommodate a table top measuring 31" x 60". You may also want to alter the size of the table to fit your space.
If you've spent most of your time building cabinets, built ins, and shelves, and you're wanting to dive into the world of furniture making, I think this is the perfect project. It involves classic joinery (mortise and tenon, bridle joint, pinning), and a simple but elegant design. I invite you to build along side of me. Together, we can learn something new and have a lot of fun.

A couple of years ago i visited a shaker village, that is definitely a shaker inspired dining room trestle table. I've seen your previous builds. No doubt, you will make the Shakers proud. 👍

It is refreshing to watch a a a YT channel especially regarding wood working skills, concepts by the presenter consumed with hubris. Your intellectual approach and engineering discipline is always evident in your projects and yet, is illustrated with the uncommon fledging work worker wannabe in mind. Always look forward toward to your ideas and suggestions in the craft.

But you are an expert and you know everything you need to know.......with that t-shirt on. 😉👍 If you wear Guy's shirt throughout the build the table will come out perfect. 😁😁 Looking forward to watch this come together.

Good luck! btw Where do you get your boards from around here? Is this part of the craigslist haul you mentioned or are you going to hobby hardwood?

Hey Brian! For the SYP, I highly recommend Littrell Lumber Mill in Decatur, AL. They mill and dry their own SYP and it's a really good product. The Cherry is from a Craigslist haul that I bought a year ago. However, Hobby Hardwood usually has 4/4 Cherry in stock. You might also consider American Hardwood Inc. in Toney, AL. While Cherry is my choice for a table top, you can make the top out of any species you'd like.
