Beautiful. The detail and craftsmanship, selection of wood and finish is to be admired.
Just when I start to think I’m developing a little bit of skill in woodworking. Then I watch one of his videos and it puts it all into perspective.
Doucette and Wolfe you are a dying breed. True artisans with an amazing attention to detail. I love your videos and enjoy seeing the process as well as the end result. Absolutely beautiful!!!
Absolutely stunning. Beautiful figured Tiger Maple. Love it, great job.
It is indeed refreshing to see the smoothing and planing process being done without the use of sand paper and orbital sanders. These works of functional art must be a privilege to own, and are worth whatever is written on the price tag.
Spectacular table, so beautiful !!
Post from Holland: Looks like you never get tired? I appreciate the way you work! For me its a pure expression of art. Thanks 4 sharing!
As always and needless to say BEAUTIFUL! And in my opinion one of the nicest Trestle tables that I've ever seen on KZread by far that's spring clamp is very cool never seen anything like that before really anticipating upcoming videos
There is something magical at the 6:20 mark when you are smoothing, and you can literally watch the grain start popping out, even from far away. I love your work. As a novice, I find your work greatly inspiring. There is an elegance in your work that is rivaled by very few. Thank you for sharing your mastery with us!
Never a disappointment. Beautiful work
It’s a beautiful thing!

Thank you. Your work, your process is amazing. Your product is truly a work of art. I'm starting my endeavor of woodworking late in life. If I can achieve one piece with the finesse you do, my hope will be fulfilled. Thank you for sharing you art, your patient and above all, your respect for the wood.. Jack.

I found you via "The Drunken Wood Worker" Inspiring stuff. Looking forward to watching more.
I think I learned more about hand tools and their uses in 8 minutes than in any other video ever before. What is the music as well?
Excelente 👍 👍 👍 👍 CDMX.
REALLY MISS YOUR VIDEOS! IK I E SD THIS B4 BUT W.E. I NEED SOME INSPIRATION I WATCH ONE OF UR VIDS.ALWAYS DOES THE TRICK! #THANKYOU
D&W, What sharpening system/style do you use?
Beautiful work. Nice proportions. I realize this video is more about advertising the business than showing others how to make one but, if there is a chance you could make plans or at least vital dimensions available, it would be great. I plan to make one in the near future. Thanks.
Beautiful piece of work. Reminds me of some of the ones I have done! How long did this table take you from start to finish? Thanks for the video! Keep up the great work!
the people who choose to dislike these video's are in my opinion very jealous individuals.

Or maybe because he explained nothing. So yes it is gorgeous and yes I want to do it. No I didn’t hit the dislike button but I thought I would learn how. I still don’t understand what he did

@@ReubenZeigler Hi Reuben. I saw your comment was a year ago. Have you watch woodworking videos, tried projects since watching this? It is a long journey. 2 years ago I wouldn't have known what he was doing. Now I do although flattening a large table top scares the hell out of me.

Very beautiful texture! Tell me, what is covered countertop?
nice
hi, with all this perfection and passion for what you do,, is it possible to make musical instruments, like acoustic guitars or electrical?would be awesome to have one of your handmade
Thanks for sharing the making of such a beautiful piece of work! I have a question for you: why did you cut 4 tenons on the table top end instead of leaving a big one? Thank you.
At the 6:30 mark your smoothing the top. Is that the Veritas LA Smoother or Veritas Small BU Smooth Plane. Another incredible piece and awesome video to accompany! Beautiful work. Thanks Again.
That is a truly stunning table. What finish is used to give the maple such a rich colour?
Can you tell us what finish you used on the top?
Who makes your shop apron? I've been looking for one and I like the shorter length of the one you wear in this video. Thanks.
What angle blade did you use in the low angle jack plane?
How is the top attached to the trestle? Once attached, can it come off for long-distance moving?
Utterly beautiful. Your work is truly amazing. I still fail to understand how breadboard ends can work with a dimensional lumber top and seasonal expansion. I get the spring joint, but then it seem like the draw pins effectively negate that effect? Or is that the purpose behind the odd-shaped holes, that it allows the end not to restrict expansion? And despite all of that, won't you always have ends that are often wider or narrower than the rest of the table? Gah! Help!
@lateralus423

Yes, the holes are elongated on the tenon to allow movement for the top and yes there will be some degree of movement resulting in a more or less proud bread board end.
How long did it take you to build this from start to finish?
Could I learn from you? I mean I work for you for just watching you work. I clean the shop, I do the shoping, I clean your house, I walk the dogs, anything just to have the oportunity to learn from you. I live in Holland but I can go there, find a place to stay and work for you. If it doesn't work for you in a week you just let me go. Isn't that a crazy idea? But I ll do it! :)
Nice work. What is the music?
What finish did you use to ebonize the legs of the table?
I really like your work, the design and attention to detail. I can't help but noticing that your finishes mostly have amber/yellow-orange tints. Is this an American thing? The maple for example is lovely and light but the finish darkens it considerably.
Thanks for the comments and for watching our video. The Music is Antoine Dufour and Andrew White. The finish on the top is aniline dye and varnish, the base is milk paint.

Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers Absolutely stunning! If you don't mind me asking, how come you don't show yourself using the jointer planes anymore? Have you stopped using them? Also, do you camber any of your plane irons? If so, which ones? Not really expecting you guys to have a lot of time to answer questions in youtube vids, but there it is. All the best and please keep the vids coming.
The delicate lines are beautiful, as is the contrast between the painted legs (trestles?) and the wood finished top and cross piece/wedges. I imagine that is milk or chalk paint?

What is the name of the plane you use to clean up tenon ends (1:19) and dovetails/pins in other videos? It looks like a LN plane but I can't find it on their website.

No reveal on how the top is attached to the base? I guess you can't give all your secrets away.
I saw numerous uses of machines there why did you not saw by hand too ? is that not cheating ?
None
