One thing about Jay. People criticize him for being loaded and just having cars as toys. One thing to keep in mind is HE REALLY KNOWS IS STUFF WITH CARS! He preserves them for future generations as well I think he takes it past hobby and gives back as much as he buys for himself. I think he is a good guy in this regard.

Jeremy Clarkson described it as the Concord of automobiles - very fast, very luxurious and only for the super rich. That sounds about right.

Of all the cars I've watched Jay drive here, this has the most (seemingly) effortless acceleration. It just goes! No loud exhaust note. No lag. Just pure, smooth, power. Incredibly impressive.

Lol same. I've heard this alot about the veyron over the years. I heard it's insanely fast even by today's standards. I've heard it's litteraly insanity on wheels pretty much.

I was never a big fan of Jay Leno as a t.v. show host and I've never really been a car enthusiast, but watching these videos have made me appreciate both a lot more. Seeing this guy's passion for the history and restoration of these vehicles makes me want to learn more about cars myself. It's seems like this is his passion and he is lucky enough to do the kind of work that pays the kind of money that allows him to indulge in his passion. We would all do the same if would could.

300 000$ for a clearcoat, i personally love the look of carbon fiber. and the weave from panel to panel matches. by that i mean it transitions almost like it was seamless. which on it's own is very time consuming and for a car to be painted they wouldn't bother puting in that effort.

They Bugatti rep guy talking about the Veyron was really nice. The nicest "suit" I have sen on this show, he actually knew everything and was very professional and didn't talk about how it's "the fastest car, the most expensive" etc.

People have no idea how "high end" this car truly is until you stand next to one, and hear the engine. Then you just "get it". I cringe when some internet mechanic says "I'd rather have a Supra or GTR hurr durr". No you actually wouldn't.

I prefer the sound of a V10, so that automatically means I'd like the sound of something like... a Viper over this. And to be fair, sure, the Veyron is basically a luxury car and it'd be a nicer place to sit, but imagine trying to get the tires for it. And then imagine how much you'd spend a week on gas. I think they'd rather have the Supra or GTR for more practical reasons (providing they don't plan on building rice rockets.).

What I LOVE about Jay Leno: first of all, he loves cars. He's got over 100 cars but it doesn't feel like he's a showoff, he knows all about each one of them. Second, only a "regular guy" like Jay Leno would ask "how much IS a quart of oil for one of these?" Love ya', Jay.

originally the "W" shaped engines had 3 banks of cylinders. the W16 that bugatti uses today is not really a W, it is 2 V's at 60° connecteed by the vertex.

the guy that was test driving with Jay Leno had the face like we wanted to say "Careful. mutherfucka, dont break a damn thing on this car! This goofball better fallow my instructions." Look at the test drive guy in the passenger seat's face. Just look at him, he is watching leno's EVERY move. lol

5:05 - This guy's explanation of what a W engine is, "3 banks of cylinders instead of 2", doesn't make sense. That is how a _W-12_ is arranged, but a W-16 has 4 banks. Even a modern VW W-12 doesn't use the 3 banks of 4 cylinders anymore, they use 4 banks of 3.

+Jay Man The Napier Lion is a true W engine with 3 cylinder banks. These modern "W" engines don't seem like W engines to me, they are double V engines. Check out the Wikipedia page for W engines.

I thought Jay was gonna show me the classic Bugatti old grandpa car instead of this new baby that I have seen it tons of time in Top Gear. Nothing fun at all except the spike of adrenaline joy.

I'm saving up for a Veyron. So far I've got enough money to buy one of the dust caps.

It's that expensive because they have to align the fiber weave from panel to panel, which is almost impossible to do. Otherwise it would like an 6 year old built it. .

I love how Jay is shocked that it's $3 million, while in his garage he has not only a lot of vintage Bugatti's that are worth more, but also a 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC worth AT LEAST $30 million...!

Yes, but those are one off vintage cars that weren't that expensive when new whereas this is a production car and each one costs that much new.

The type 57sc is a rebody not a true 57sc

That open door chime reminds me of the one in my grandfather's '93 Audi 100 CS. I'm betting that's where the similarity between these two VW group cars ends.

A while back I saw a guy driving one of these, and, or similar model on the highway in Denver Co in heavy traffic, and I think that it was winter. Salt, rocks, gravel, ice slicer etc etc. A great place for a car like this. He was obviously trying to avoid potential hazards. Kind of funny.

This car is engineering at it's best you won't ever get a car that has that much power that won't need rebuild after driving it 3000 miles and be able to daily drive

Well a honda civic has proved to be faster than a Bugatti if you add the right parts, you can make alot of cars faster than this, If you know what your doing 😏

My dream car always. Ive never seen one though. A litteral rocket on wheels. This car is still fast today it just now started getting beat like 5 years in terms of acceleration. This car eats the road up. I wanna see one so badly.

The representative is as stiff as the chasis. I wonder if he has ever heard a funny joke in his life. He's also quite condncending in his tone towards Jay

PETER MAINWALD TBH I think its Jay Leno who is condesending. He's seem like he has no time for the expert. The german guy, Jens is one of the best automotive enginners in the world with an F1 background yet Jay can't pronounce his name and takes the piss about him.

I didn't get that impression at all with Jay's attitude towards Jens - seemed more relieved to be talking to someone more on his wavelength. The marketing director seemed "bothered" to have to answer any remotely useful question.

wonder why Jay doesn't just buy one I'm sure he could afford it. What you guys think? maybe to many restrictions and the fact that he couldn't really work on it him self? It's not my favorite looking car but man its a beast.

The point is that when this monster was made, it demolished all competition hands down (was there any “competition” at all ? ) it’s important to remember. This car was the ultimate machine. All others hypercars makers had to step back and review all they’re strategies after the Super Sport and just follow it. A Bugatti will always be a Bugatti. It’s simply the best car Brand ever created.

While people like Jay have more money than he will ever spend in his lifetime, just miles away, are people living homeless and would happy just to have a half eaten doughnut they found in the trash. What a world we live in.

Plus, I used to help out at the local food kitchen, but could not handle what goes on behind closed doors. Those running it, keep all the good food that is donated for themselves and drive around in new cars and do not even need it and the scraps are given back to the public, who actually do need it. The pastor who runs our local shelter, is a millionaire, who became one, from leaching off everything and the shelter is run like a sweat camp. They force the people to work for free all day, and the money goes into the pastors pocket and most homeless rather sleep in a tent in the dead of winter, than to go there. They don't help people get back on their feet and you are not even allowed to have your own job and that is a fact. And the same thing happens there, all the good stuff donated, the pastors and their families take and the scraps are given back to the public and it is downright disgusting. Example, I helped bring in food that a wedding party donated, which consisted of huge trays of fried chicken, meatballs, pasta, huge trays of salad, trays of pizza, all kinds of stuff, which would have been a feast for the public that day. But no, the pastors and their families kept it all and only thing they gave back to the public was a small plate of pasta with a few drops of sauce on it. Yah I was told I could have a huge potion for myself to take home, I said no thank you, walked out and never went back.

Cant work on it cant hear engine growl = no interest for Jay Leno I'm guessing.

I'd love to drive a Bugatti Veyron for it's speed., but I'd never want to own one, cause honestly I think it's hideous. If someone gave me one for free, I'd sell it. Just my opinion though.

That gap between the hood and quarter panel reminds me of my first car. It was a 91' integra I crashed 2 times and I could dust any bugatti on ann arbor streets. Guaranteed.

I was on the fence as to whether or not to spend the 3 million on one of these until dude mentioned the ipod hook up. Now I'm sold.
