Thanks for covering this Jardier! rF2 receives a lot of critique but when the puzzle pieces come together the driving experience is fantastic.

Looks epic, sounds good! For non rF2 person I must say Im really surprised and also happy with these two cars! On the other hand I dont agree much with the price. Yes its cheaper than iR but way more expensive than ACC. What do you guys think?

rF2 and iRacing need to stop the overpriced crap and make the content way more price competitive, alot of ppl don´t touch their games cause of that. i´m really hoping AC2 throws more water into the pan. Outdated engine that is on the brink of the limit asking prices as if its a post 2020 game...

I bought a year pass for iracing and used it for a month.... then uninstalled it and will never pay it again. I just didn't like the game, the people in the lobbies, the basic cars you get or limited races you get with a basic sub. Not tried rf2, but I'm not a fan of games you can't buy and keep.

These cars on Laguna Seca are so cool! Just done a hour race. Simply lovely

As someone that got into RF2 earlier this year and wished more people engaged with it I appreciate the coverage. There’s just something about the driving feel that’s brilliant. That is once you actually get going in the car and track with the correct AI and desired weather and time settings 😅

Maybe you already know this but the original Automobilista used the rfactor/ISI engine so it's a very similar experience that came out just before Rfactor 2. It's Basically Rfactor 1.7. automobilista 2 has become really good but that's only recently I still go back to the original all the time because it's such a similar experience to Rfactor.

These two cars are one of the best I have driven in a sim. Feels amazing, looks amazing and with rF2's updated sound engine I fell in love with rF2 again. Can't wait for other cars and tracks of BTCC.

Love BTCC, Followed Plato Sinc Mid 90's, Cant wait to see how Sutton does in FWD this season, he was on fire in the last two with infinity, oh yes a BTCC standalone game would be fantastic, I wonder if they implement HyBrid into it like this season

Thanks for the video Jardier. It was great to hear opinions from someone who is both an accomplished e-racer and raced similar vehicles IRL. I am ok with the pricing -- non-trivial amount for sure, but the quality is outstanding for both the tracks and the cars.

Love BTCC and can't wait for this to get more cars and tracks as I'd love to join some tournaments racing these

the BTCC game will come at some point, but, it will never be, nor was supposed to be, a true sim. All titles in the pipeline are supposed to follow - roughly - the mold of the F1 games.

I like how rF2 feels compared to the Madness Engine sims, but the monetisation really puts me off buying any extra content, despite a lot of it appealing to me.

Highly agreed. The driving itself is unparalleled in rF2, but as a complete package something like AMS2 just blows it out of the water. I personally mainly drive AMS2 and bought rF2 to supplement with the cars where AMS2 isn't good enough (the limited GT3 selection for example) or straight up not present (Formula E and LMP cars for me).

@@Coasterfan312 1) nobody forces anyone to purchase all the content 2) 350€ is not very expensive for a real simulator Ams2 is fun and maybe cheaper but it is not on the same level as rf2, it is more than ok but overall, it is not as good. Most simulations (cars, planes, spaceships, etc...) are pretty expensive, even way more expensive than rf2 (flight simulators are surely the worst) but when compared to serious hardware, it's peanuts.

Other people are still going to buy it, but it's not very consumer-friendly. 2) You're not paying for a "real" simulator, you're paying for a mediocre one with a lot of cars and tracks locked behind a paywall. I'd want a much more realistic simulation for that kind of money.

The price is a bit high but getting 3 tracks in q2 compared to just daytona in q1 gives a lot more content I think. Also they look amazing.

I agree that the price is a bit steep, it looks good but when rfactor 2 already is a bit of a mixed bag tbh I hesitate spending so much on dlc for it (I do love RF2 though, but imo it's the most inconsistent in performance, visual quality etc of the big sims). Might pick the bundle up when/if it goes on sale.

Ash's Infiniti was so good last year especially with handling ballast. I wonder if that is the same in the sim

Having just tried the new cars and tracks, bloody superb! As for the price, nowhere near as expensive as iTwatting.

We need a 24h race on the nordschleife with these cars + GT3s. But before that, S397 needs to get a grip on monetization, because they'll force everyone to buy *all* cars on the track, which is ridiculous.

thats a lot of money for two cars and two circuits! But....imagine the laugh with a lot of cars on the north loop for a couple of hours.

Bought them, tried and appreciated. These BTCC cars are not properly for everyone I suppose. Tricky in some way...or maybe only old fashioned on drive (and I like that). Little trick Jardier if you want to use AI on rF2...between 116% and 118% for to have the AI at a good (human) champ level. Between 104% and 106% for vintage cars using manual. For AI aggression and limiter is more personal...generally i use 30% and 50%.

Oh, and it's the no HUD challenge as well!!

Looks like I need to get back into playing this game again. It's been a while and you made it look like a lot of fun Jardier.

I wish there would be a standalone game, built from the ground up and not on top of rFactor with all its baggage. It can have the same physics engine but optimized for BTCC, and going in the same way ACC went. Specialized for one group, and optimized to perfection.

Yes, physics optimized for BTCC like they used different physics laws from another universe. Uninstall all base content, install just the BTCC content and enjoy the Earth physics.

rFactor 2 is an amazing sim and this content is really good !! Hopefully it will bring more people to the lobbies ;)

Hotlapping is one thing, but I'm waiting for a community race so we see how they handle our carnage :D

Only if ACC would have rF2's FFB ACC would be the game. But everytime i start racing ACC i end up racing rF2.

well your screen size will be the same but you will a wide wide specter to what you will be able to see to the sides :)

Single player? This is a sim, you can do some hotlaps or race the AI. There's not many sims but a lot of car games.

AMS2 pales in comparison to rF2 in terms of the actual physics and driving feel, It's just not even close. If you're not into hot lapping though its probably not for you as the AI is rather spotty and to race online you need to find and join a league or community. You can buy tracks separately, as well as the cars, to save some money, so again, if you're only looking to hot lap rFactor 2 is amazing, especially considering there's already Dinnington, Brands Hatch, Laguna Seca, etc on the workshop for free as mods. Are they laser scanned 1-1 replicas? absolutely not, but they get the job done for what you're paying which is literally nothing.

to me the infinite is good but the Toyota is boring . did you switch off ABS? (I lock my front tyre (unloaded side) easily in the infinite) could you share your wheel setting and in game setting ,it does not work great in my CSL DD.

Hey Jardier, I know you don’t play RF2 a lot, but what do you think of the AI? I’m trying to get a PC for more serious sim racing and have been curious. RF2 seems to be a bit of a mess right now unfortunately, but the new updates look nice.

Price could indeed be lower, as for instance was the Q1 Pack which, percentage wise, had a larger discount, but the content is of an extremely high quality in my opinion (disclaimer, I am a rFactor 2 fan)

Rfactor2 Is that accidental unloved third kid the parents never intended to have who grows up to be a Elon. I've built a nice mod btcc grid to fill in the blanks until they release more. Great Stuff!!

It's amazing how there is no true btcc game yet. With how many people want it and the amount of exposure the games gave the championship and basically made people fans for life. Those games made close to 25 years ago and they are still being talked about now !

TOCA 2 guy here, the rest of this field cannot come fast enough.

It looks great, but should be more cars, dont know how many, manufactors there is inBTCC (and tracks)

Last time i tried rf2 in 2020 in VR i was suprised about the poor performance and the bad look (rtx 3090,11900k). As someone who only race in VR the game looks out to date imo. The menue was a pain the ars back then in vr..Does anyone know if the have been any major changes? Thanks

For me same kind of specs (rtx 3090, 5950x, reverb g2), it performs pretty good and really nice graphics probably the best of al simracing titles, that is the newer content in rF2. This is because with all my tweaks it's much clearer then most simracing titles, Only Iracing is just as clear. But it needs a lot tweaking and still I have some issues with multiplayer and going back in the main menu. So basically I use the reshade mod, rf2 settings widget and most importantly openXR. OpenXr is where you gain a lot of fps, but it's still kinda buggy. So probably I will go back to steamVR if I can't find a solution on the forum.

The BTCC game is "on hold" because Motorsport Games has no money left. Executives ran away with most of it.

The infiniti is one of the best cars in simracing. Just stunning

Recently tried rfactor 2 and bow its all I drive. I used to be a big ACC guy but rf2 has kinda ruined me for that. I think it's great and I used to be a skeptic. I really hope it doesn't go away because of all the bullshit going on with motorsport games and their money and stock troubles.

24 bucks for 2 cars and 2 tracks?? I'd hate to see how much the full btcc package would be 🤣 too expensive 🤑

2022 regulations have the Hybrid powertrain - which ends up being a push to pass. It's not yet fully implemented with the HY deployment varying as per BTCC rules as a success penalty.

i do like RF2 but they should have done a better price as a bundle ... im sure many people will think twice before purchasing ... plus too many AD barriers , not good .

I have RF2, and I like it a lot but there are problems with this game. One is subjective. The price of DLCs. Not only this one, but all DLCs in rFactor are quite expensive. But that could not be valid for everyone. The other 2 problems are objective. The first is that you can not play this game as a casual, like you can do with other games. Public servers are almost empty. So if you have not a community to join, this game is pretty dead. Racing in a community is a lot better, but sometimes you just want to turn on the PC and play! And we can go back for a second to price of DLCs. If you are almost sure that you cannot play a lot online outside Community championships, will you spend 30 euros for a content? If it was me, I would think about it twice. The second problem is that this game has a lot of bugs! I had some races with a friend of mine, that was a rookie, and we had a lot of problems like loss of FF in change session. Or whatever bug that crashes you the game. And so on. The result of that evening was that we spent a couple of hours playing the game, and we spent at least half an hour solving problems. So as the things are going now, Studio397 has a lot of work to do to make this game more user friendly. All these... factors (badum-ts ahah) make games like Automobilista or RaceRoom, more attractive even for casual players as an alternative to Assetto Corsa and iRacing that are the most played as today.

One of the reasons I dont play rF2 is cause its same as ACC you need to find leagues and communities to race properly (would help to have lfm style website like acc that gets closer to iracing and made game way more popular and simpler). I also for many years hated workshop style in rF2 and all things around that + problems or bugs. I actually opened game after year I think now and im surprised how menu changed and how awesomer nordschleife is. But as you said. Price is way way way too much compare to competition on the market :(

Too expensive unless they can actually provide competition. Their competition system is dead in the US at least so gave up on it. They need LFM support

The update broke my game, it crashes trying to use any content. I was playing the game hours before the update..... then poof. Going to reinstall later.

Touring Cars were always cool. £31? Naaaah.

Btcc is so good

Some music in the background would make a lot of difference in your videos. We often overlook this and dont think about it but it changes how we perceive the video. Take some inspiration from other sim-type youtubers. Cheers!

Because 'Motorsport games' are now involved, it's that simple! And once they bring out other BTCC cars/tracks, who knows the final cost

FWD cars in rfactor 2 just feel all wrong.

Rfactor 2 IS the best sim on the market for real sim racing. Assetto Corsa Competizione feels like shit to drive compared to Rfactor 2. Assetto Corsa is a good compromise between the two.

Ugh you're complaining about 5€ for cars and 8€ for tracks. I've been in iRacing for the past year or so and I'm paying 13€ for cars and 17€ for tracks. It feels normal after a while, until you're then reminded how much cheaper it is everywhere else. This pack would have been 70€ in iRacing. After the bulk purchase discount.

@@fried1603 Yeah, which is why I stick to iRacing. What iRacing offers in actual racing and community makes up for any shortfall in the content quality and physics. I feel like content is improving slightly and the physics has definitely come on a long way in the last few years. Remember about 10 years ago it was worse than Forza.

@@fried1603 Yeah I'm the same these days. I try to get in an open practice and a race in the Formula 3.5 each week. Last week didn't even manage that. So I don't have time to play many sims and just play iRacing because it is the best overall.

new content. new video?

I was really excited for this, so I dropped around $80 on the game and content only to find out, there’s a sound bug that nobody can fix. I get all the menu sounds and music but when I start a race or practice event, I get nothing. No car sounds, No track sounds, No road sounds… Nothing. I feel I’ve wasted good money on this. I’ve been thru the forums and tried all the past fixes for sound issues and not 1 worked. I’m lost.

Calm down man... something must be wrong on your side and you have to note the following, a reinstall may require that you first disable the settings cloud storage which steam does since that will make it retrieve what might be a corrupted file. When no one else suffers from the same problem, then we can't even call it a bug. It has to be something else.

@@Jardier I did all that this morning. I really don’t know what’s wrong. I’m using Voicemeeter to split my audio with the buttkicker, maybe I’ll try Nvidia broadcast as see if it changes. Buttkicker works in car, but nothing thru speakers. I was able to get 1 practice session in, with sound this morning, after deleting sound files in the root folder but after I changed cars it went back to the same, so I don’t think it’s VM causing an issue.

Well... BTCC is my favourite series right now and IMO NGTC regulations provide peak racing. I hope that someone more competent will create proper BTCC game soon, as Motorsport Games seems to be going down in flames. I am dissapointed that these machines are RF2 exclusive currently, as RF2 is deeply broken with its singleplayer experience. I will propably will still buy this DLC once they add 330i M Sport.

The AI has some issues, but it can be tuned to work really well. Watch the video which La Broca Racing made and see what he says about the racing against the AI with these cars.

i totaly hate rFactor & the price they charging is out of order tbh ,, & if anything they should just make a one off price for alll content for BTCC & everything that gets intruduced should come free. & PS caant get on a server to save ya life taken so far on that game 7hrs just try get in a server ,, just Rubbish,,,

RF2 is basically a single player sim in my eyes. They keep snatching up these big names but if you cant do the fundamental thing.... racing other people at a reasonable skill level to your own then its a massively overpriced single player sim. If that's what you're looking for then im sure its great. I love the physics but that's it for me with RF2. Its super clunky (yes after the update) Its still clown shoes. So what's the plans with RF2, to make a 20 year old sim back to relevance with a IR pricing model without the online structure? Hard pass.

Worst FWD cars in all of sim racing can be found in rF2, this one is no exception. Infinity is okay but has a terribly looking dash. Tracks look fine.

I like the high sharpness of rF2 and sunset/sundown looks amazing. They should add a preset for that since it's difficult finding the right time for it.
