it looked so bad. that in order to reach the top, Paul decided to go after the boss' daughter. it makes Steph look like a damn skank. and they both, along with Vince, didn't tell Joanie. that one incident, IMO, started Joanie's downward spiral.

  • @watchreport

JohnBlack2345 I do not know why this is any body’s perception of the situation. Stephanie is a beautiful woman, much more beautiful than Chyna, at least in my opinion, they were in storylines together and spent a lot of time with each other. They fell in love. Do any of us know Paul aka Triple H in real life? I think everyone uses his character and thinks that is him and so they think he had this devious plan to marry the boss’s daughter, have 3 kids and live a life with someone he doesn’t really love or care for, only to get a hold of the WWE and put in a position of power? Does that not sound ludicrous to say about someone you do not know personally? Here’s what we know. Triple H dated Chyna. They broke up and or he cheated on her with Steph. It was an uncomfortable situation for Chyna. She got fired or they let the contract run out and she never came back. That’s it. That’s what we as the public really know. Anything else is just hearsay or rumor. Triple H, Steph, Vince, Chyna and a handful of others know the truth and we will never know what that truth really is, because we are not one of them and weren’t involved in the situation. Beyond that, Bad things happen in life. That’s life. Chyna (Joanie) did not handle life very well after that. Unfortunate, but reality.

Because even though you can have the other woman's man their can still be jealousy toward her. I went through it. An ex that got with someone I thought was a friend had her calling my phone, rubbing it in my face, and harassing me. Even though she had him and later ended up cheating and fucking him over lol. Stephanie was probably jealous of Chyna in some way and wanted what she had including her man. Granted I do think her and Paul did fall in love, you can see it when they look and interact with each other, but Paul should handled it more like a man. He should have went to her and said he was in love with Stephanie and wants to be with her. But also Chyna could have handled it better. But granted she had mental and emotional issues and when you are young the way she was you don't really know how to handle stuff like what she went through.

I used to work for a large retail corporation, and I saw a similar situation unfold, although to my knowledge, nobody was cheating on any anyone else. My hourly supervisor started dating one of my newer co-workers, and though it was strictly against policy, the salaried managers looked the other way and even promoted my co-worker so he would be in a different department and therefore everything would be by the book, so to speak. It kind of left a sour taste in my mouth, but they are still married with a daughter now nearly 10 years later, and they were always good to me, like truly good and not just superficially nice to make sure I wouldn't talk about. We still chat occasionally even though none of us work there anymore. I looked at it like Bruce looked at Paul and Stephanie, two people that like each other spend 40 hours/wk with each other, things just happen and it isn't really any of my business

Chyna had a lot of issues, & people try to blame that all on HHH even though they were there way before these 2 even met….even her family said so. The woman lied about both HHH & XPac hitting her & she obsessed about the WWF/E until she passed away. She should’ve just taken some time off, then came back & focused on her career. They offered her the choice of being on the alternate show that Steph & HHH were on, so she wouldn’t see them, but she refused. Vince was “fit” to address the issue, because he’s the boss & Chyna wanted to speak with him lol

Chyna may as well have beaten the crap out of Vince, Triple H and Stephanie. At least then the punishment of being banned and blacklisted from WWE for life would have fit the crime. This would have made a lot more sense than her being wronged and screwed over and then getting an unofficial lifetime ban on top of it.

She didn’t get some sort of ban because of this. They literally offered her a raise to stay following this that she declined. The blacklisting of Chyna was because of the events that followed this. She made a sex tape with X-PAC, had domestic assault issues with him and had widely known substance abuse issues. And later on she made more porn movies. That was what led to her blacklisting, not this incident. But she did eventually get her induction, which I’m happy she got.

I mean, look at how she was booked to squash Ivory. How much more proof do you want, at that point? If they wanted to bury her, they could've. They've done it plenty of times in the past. She reportedly asked for an unrealistic figure to re-sign. By that point in May 2001, there was no more WCW, and the WWF had all the leverage. I think she reportedly asked for Austin levels of money.

Well said Bruce. Well said Conrad. Everyone can speculate what the motives of all 3 people involved were. Paul & Stephanie made their choice. Joanie was an unfortunate casualty of a life event, as human emotion is unpredictable. There are plenty of shoots stating that Joanie was not well-liked backstage, & she had her issues, but at the end of the day, having someone you love leave you would break almost anyone's spirit. If she had a stronger support group of family & friends, maybe things would have worked out differently for her, to where she could have moved on more healthfully & emotionally in her life. As a brother, I understand Shane's apprehension. Vince was right to stay out of the relationship- 2 people are going to do what they want to do.

The more Pritchard "they just fell in love" and "Chyna LEFT!!!!!!!!!", the more I realize he's never been in more than one relationship. If you work with someone you're dating, even if you're all "adults" as he keeps yammering on about, it's still uncomfortable as hell. It's still not a great working environment. In the same breath, he then says that this happens a lot in wrestling. But not everyone ends up in the same situation Chyna was in. And why was it different than Marc Mero, or guys like Chris Candido? Because Stephanie was in a position of power. She was already a featured performer on the show. She was going to be one of the presumptive executives of the shows (and eventually became head of creative). HHH, meanwhile, was in a position of power. Him dismissing it as 'Chyna chose to leave' like she had another job waiting was ignoring the fact that she was in a no-win situation. Joanie's story is read. Pritchard says that's not what happened. Ends up rephrasing it. For the record, if Joanie and Stephanie spoke privately, Bruce wouldn't have been privy to that. So him saying "none of it happened" is disingenuous at best, outside of his knowledge at worst.

  • @mattb.2740

    @mattb.2740

The truth is that the two parties could not have come to terms on a new deal and Chyna left when her contract expired. Bruce saying she chose to leave was spinning the truth a bit. Chyna saying she was fired was an outright lie to appear more as a victim. If it was too difficult for Chyna to continue working there, she wouldn't have tried to negotiate a new deal. If Vince had met her demands, she would have stayed. You have to consider that there would have been massive locker room upheaval if Chyna was mistreated. Sunny was banging HBK, who was a top guy. Melina cheated with Batista, who was a made guy. A lot of how things go in these situations depends on how professional you are and how many problems you create. Matt Hardy made huge problems, which led to his original release.

What Triple H did he had his reasons for doing. Whether they were good reasons or not isn't for us to decide. It's none if our business. The thing is, he did trade and he traded up. Stephanie is HOT and she seems to be a good person. And, she is indeed the bosses daughter. Lol. She did come with benefits other than being hot. Triple H had more than paid his dues. Wrestling prelim matches with the Godwin's getting thrown in the hog slop, he finished a match with a torn quad and afterwards he couldn't even walk from the ring. Who was there to help him? Stephanie. When one of the girls tore her quad and couldn't finish the match she was crying and Triple H was right there telling her "it's ok. Everything will be fine." Beneath what we see, both Stephanie and Triple H are good folks. I'm not knocking Chyna but to say she was "unstable" is putting it mildly. And Triple H and Stephanie have been married for 20 years. So clearly Triple H isn't the kind of guy to jump around and they both seem happy together. Sadly, Chyna lost control and let her life take a nose dive. Edit I have to say that Bruce Pritchard is so totally different from Brother Love. 😅😂

And because it was during the Attitude Era and almost every wrestler was popular and at their peak, I suppose Chyna thought she could do better without WWE. But without WWE and losing Triple H, whom she loved so much. Her life fell apart. I mean, no one could imagine being cheated on. Thank God, Owen was more of an man than Triple H to do a romantic BS storyline with Debra. Regardless of Triple H not being married and having children. Most of those guys like Austin, Rock, Mick Foley didn't bother to boost their careers in favor of a marriage/love triangle/girlfriend/sex storyline. Triple H most likely saw himself really getting pushed to the top with his storyline and just jumped on board without thinking of the consequences. He dance with the devil, a lot of people hate him, Chyna has died. Regardless of being partly in charge of WWE. He still got burned.

Realistically, her run was more or less winding down at that point anyway. I honestly don't think she would have been around much longer regardless.

HHH destroyed Chyna's life and slept his way to the top that's the fact does anyone really beleave that he would be a 15 time champion or CEO of WWE if he had not shacked up with Stephanie.

Destroyed her life? Have you ever had a gf? lol people break up all the time bud. You're not responsible for your ex's life decisions. Can you imagine how many people's lives would be destroyed if that was the case? Use your brain.

Anyone who thinks HHH would have never been a top guy if he didn't marry Stephanie is an idiot. He was ridiculously over in 98 with DX. Way before this love triangle ever started. Dozens of wrestlers, including Bob Holly who has openly admitted that he hates HHH has said he's one of the best workers in the business and was always into the creative/booking side of things. I'm not saying he didn't have an ulterior motive when he first got with Stephanie, judging by the things I've heard about him he probably did, however, he was always gonna be a top guy. And judging by the job he's been doing with NXT while the main product goes to shit, we should be grateful that he's the guy taking charge of the future of WWE.

Someone said in an interview shoot that Chyna confronted Stephanie in a hallway and Stephanie walked away and went into a room, Chyna punched the door after it closed. Vince was smart keeping them apart, Chyna would kill Stephanie.

Triple H was not a top guy before he married into wrestling royalty. This doesn’t mean that he didn’t deserve a shot, but he was never a Stone Cold or the Rock and he definitely wouldn’t have lasted as long, especially when you factor in injuries, the curtain call and the Katy Vic angle.
