There are a handful of street food places with stars but the ones in this video just appear in the Guide without any commendation - the plaques would show a star/s or a Bib if they had those awards.

I grew up watching the Food Channel and any time there was a similar travel show, I always wondered; are the camera men and sound people getting to try this? It can't just be the host, right? And with JOLLY I know it isn't! They're always panning out to show the crew and inviting them to try the same bites, no matter how fancy what they're eating is, and it fills me with joy. It's like watching a group of friends experience the world together and that's amazing.

We have them here in america too, normally with a red chili sauce or an orange "duck sauce" or even that same sweet & sour sauce they use on chicken, just depending on the place. I was actually surprised, because the sit-down place they went to looks SO MUCH like chinese places near where I grew up, and many of the dishes were familiar as well. I always thought chinese-american food was just sort made up here, the way italian-american food is (you can tell i'm italian lol), but I guess there are some similarities after all! I'd really like to try the real versions of dishes I'm familiar with...

I haven't come across many videos that delve into Michelin-starred street eats, so I was thrilled to learn that there are a few, more accessible options on the list (I.e. no need to reserve a table 3 years in advance, and/or re-mortgage your home to taste them 😋) Also, It's wonderful to see that the guide is willing to look outside the box and highlight dishes with unconventional flavours. Sure, some items may not suit everyone's palate, but if it meets Michelin's high-standards, it's definitely worthy of a nod 😊
