As we don't live anywhere near Mexico, we don't know how to create traditional homemade Mexican food. Most have not experienced it... at it's best. 😭 So that's why most have literally NO clue about the different types/ arrays of delicious foods and their names. Unless, Families have moved to the UK and passed their recipes down and opened restaurants here. Sending love and light from Wales UK. I know for a fact, I would adore the best most delicious Mexican cuisine. I've only heard great things and I'm super jealous. 😌 💖

Seeing how they are deeply connected to korean culture and, in this episode, like mexican food I think they should check out the large korean community in pesqueria, nuevo leon, mexico. It is a community that started when a kia factory moved to the town of pesqueria and some koreans along with it as well. Since the factory moved there in 2015 there has been a booming community of close to 200k residents that, before the kia factory moved, had only about 20k inhabitants. This was because so many koreans started moving there and was soon after being called "pescorea" to show that the town had such a heavy korean influence. It said that its such a big community that a lot of the residents haven't needed to learn spanish because they only interact with other koreans. While other koreans have adopted their new home and started to mix korean and mexican culture. Y'all should try and see about going and filming in "pescorea" to see what its like for this channel or korean englishmen.

If only the people appreciate the people as much as the food. Lots of Americans like to shove their faces with Mexican food, then turn around and hate on Mexicans. A great example would be those Republican politicians who are anti-Mexican and then out of nowhere show up in a Mexican restaurant the next day. Not to mention them taking vacations to Mexico.... Mexicans should start gatekeeping and only share to those who show genuinely love.
Love these travel food series but I also find myself missing Rev Chris, Ollie’s Dad, Josh’s Mom and all the other friends and family that used to appear on Jolly before. Hope we will see them again in the future.

I love this show and especially when you guys were in Savannah recently. Your guest Hooni Kim was great. So charming and endearing. I loved his explanations without being condescending.
I love these videos. I've always loved their food videos, but my appreciation has just grown exponentially since they did their American South episodes because I don't know what korean food is supposed to look like so everything is new to me there, but watching them eat things that I have grown up on is so nice to see. I don't know how this compares to the other cultures that JOLLY pulls from in their videos, but I can say definitively that when they ate southern food and gave a depiction of the south and southern culture, they did a damn good job at how they depicted the south (in culture and food). I truly respect the level of care for the region that they gave.
Mexican Food Dates are always a great idea.
Mole you can’t get better than that, my favorite dish. My aunt use to make it all the time; as taught by her mother in law and the first dish that was emptied at a reunion. Unfortunately she passed before unexpectedly before our cooking lesson.

Love you guys! I subscribed last year but only recently started watching your videos. I don't know why I waited, quite entertaining.
I grew up making guacamole at home. Still do. I was surprised when I got older and found out some people don’t. I prefer it chunky than the over blended version many restaurants serves.
Jajajajaja Josh saying that the enmoladas look like a soggy burrito is just so funny to me for some reason lol I'm so happy you got to try mexican food! Hopefully next time you try pozole, tamales, even pan de muerto! Saludos desde México 🇲🇽
I NEED TO SEE MORE CONTENT LIKE THIS!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!
As a fellow Mexican, I’m so proud of the dishes that were introduced. Since most of the dishes present my media is always tacos! The “Sopes” dish is actually a sort of flat corn doughy tortilla that it’s traditionally pinch on the outline of the tortilla to make a sort of plate form. In order to spread black fried beans on the bottom, it’s typically know to use shred chicken, lettuce, and queso fresco “Mexican cheese” to top it off. (1/2)

The mole enchiladas, are actually called “Enmoladas”. Mole can be made in multiple different ways, but it depends on the region that you’re are from. Typically most moles have some sort of seeds (ex. pecans, peanuts, sesame seeds, or sometimes even toasted bread) and the OG ingredient Chocolate in order to make this sort of sauce be nutty and creamy. Don’t forget the Chile peppers (passilla and ancho) (2/2)

I hope it reaches out to any audience that would like to know this small facts about this dishes!!!
Been waiting for these episodes since I saw hooni’s post on IG. Love the NYC series!
I wish they wouldn’t put sour cream on everything. Some Mexican households hate sour cream. We use fresh cheese. 🤦🏻♂️
Yes as a Hispanic I’m glad you’re trying Mexican food….Dominican Cuban and many others are waiting 😅

As a Dominican 🇩🇴, since they are in New York. I would love for them to try out food. Since we have such a big population in NY. But they probably need a local to show them a good spot

@@dangercat9188Mexicans are waking up and dropping those ridiculous European terms that were “misused” and then coined by the Anglo Richard Nixon administration during the 1970s. Hispanic’s are from Hispania Spain and Latinos are from Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, and Romania. Mexicans are from North America!!!!!!!
What a fun guest. Really knowledgeable and nice!
I’m sure it was delicious, but like barbecue, the best Mexican food comes from holes in the wall.
I am so going there !!! Definately want my first mechilin star experiecne to be this welcoming and friendly!!
I’m Mexican and love seeing this ❤ the little tapas like bites are maybe supposed to be a fancy Sopes but idk actual sopes are amazing Chilaquiles are a great every day breakfast but best with a fried egg and on a hangover 😅 and enchiladas ARE kinda like a wet small corn burrito lol there is usually 1-2 ingredients inside though. The cheese is queso fresco 🫶🏽 glad you guys liked it

I was thinking the same. I love a good mole, and Chef was right, it's impossible to describe unless you've tasted it before!
