I think it already is. Livestream is a bit amateur but in person, it's nuts. Also shows who's the most well rounded + strongest strongman on Earth more than any other show.

That's exactly it. Always loved Worlds at Christmas in the UK because of the nostalgia, but Brian's seems to show the absolute strongest

Hands down, imo it was the best last year, (but I’m a little bias because I was there in person) it was so good I had to buy vip seats for this years Shaw classic. He is VERY dedicated to taking care of the athletes AND making sure the fans have an awesome show (implements, expos, meet and greats, many special moments in his show for sure) to me the Shaw classic is next level for sure, especially with the different open and gender divisions. Absolutely next level!

I think Brian’s show will always be more interesting because of all the vlogs he does and all the behind the scenes stuff he does on KZread to really build up the hype before the event. I love watching his new implements being built and him testing them and what not. I think other shows could really learn from him.

Obviously worlds has the name and the history behind it and therefore attracts the most guys at their best. BUT. in terms of the variety, design, and number of events, and having 16 guys in the comp all going together i honestly think Shaw does crown the SMOE. And in by having a livestream its miles ahead for fans. Id be glad if SMOE took over entirely

Yeah I haven't cared about WSM in YEARS. Because all I see is 5minute clips and some chart where I can see who did what. ... Vs. SMOE: live stream, full events on youtube afterwards, behind the scenes stuff. I'd gladly buy WSM ppv if there was one 🙄

Brian shaw has announced the athletes, he has announced the event to give the athletes their chance at a good prep, and his team is working round the clock to ensure a great strongman show for the fans and athletes. The Shaw Classic and the Rouge Invitational will be the shows to watch. Also, with Brian not competing himself, he can put in the full time and attention into building the show. It will be awesome - no doubt.

Shaw classic is already better than WSM in my opinion and its only a few years old. 10 years from now I can see it being the new industry standard for everyone who isn't a WSM die hard because of the history

Why did WSM +40 nr.2 Johan Espenkrona not get an invite from the beginning?

Honestly think if worlds don't improve on a few things like being able to stram it live then Brian Shaws comp will surpass worlds in a few years

At this rate, they'll be flying Lucy Underdown out for WSM. Ok, I just did a fairly quick grouping with the 28 listed on Strongman Archives. Assuming 6 groups of 5, they can have a Brit in each group (if they'll count Pa, being from the British isles, as counting), 2 from 'The Americas' in each group, and another athlete from 'Europe' and from 'Rest of the World' would be ideal for the last 2 competitors for the groups. I'd say - if they can - Jordan Osborne, just won australia's strongest man, and either Kelvin De Ruiter or Dennis Kohlruss could be good shouts. , both doing very good things in the SCL and wining Netherlands and Germany's strongest man last year.

I've been a fan of loz back when he had no beard, would be great to see him at Shaws doin anything

Are you still training Liz? Brian is definitely showing WSM how it should be done here, so much better and fairer to know in advance these are the people that should be there. They've been hampered by injuries for sure, but it's crazy only announcing the last few in the weeks before!

Does Thor plan to break his deadlift record at the Shaw classic? Seems interesting that Brian has event 1 as a max deadlift and Thor is training it currently.

Two more years and the Shaw classic will take over WSM.

Brian's comp will be insane this year! I think it truly will crown the strongest man on earth! I'm thinking the last two athletes almost have to be American based on the short time. Maybe Canadian? And I like the colors this year, should look great on the beach

@@gabrielpeterson3991 From 2014 to 2023 there were 285 contestants at WSM, over 250 of them coming from North America and Europe if you split transcontinental county competitors with Europe and Asia (Russia and Georgia). That puts it just short of 88% of competitors.

As impressive as Lucas was at the uk Arnold’s, I’m surprised to see him announced for smoe. With respect, he hasn’t really competed at a ‘top level’ competition and the uk lineup wasn’t a healthy one

Personally love purple (my 2nd favourite colour) and I don't think it's that bad but even I prefer the blue one, so that probably means sth.

Love Brians show, but..in Athletics, The World Championships has better athletes, faster times and the athletes say it is more competitive. Any winner though would swap 3 Golds for a single Olympic Gold. The Olympics is always criticised for lots of reasons but its still the daddy. Same with WSM. I remember the same stuff being said about the WUS 5 years ago! Where is that now

I think he already had a wake up call at the Arnold’s. If you watched his video he is definitely coming back very humble. With his life being thrown curveballs I like the calm and collected Thor. I also think he will be doing the comp for the max deadlift. Wouldn’t it be a site if he broke the record (again) but in a comp with Eddie being there to witness and no figure eights or suits. I still believe he can make the podium. Would you agree with that? I definitely see Moose, Tom S, and potentially Thor or Singleton as top three.

One of the favourites for this year's WSM(Tom) beat Thor by half a point at the Arnold's after Thor zeroed an event lmao. Once Thor recovers fully from his pec tear and gets near his best he'll have no problems. If he was 💯 with his overhead this year he would've been competing for the win at the ASC and arguably would've won the Arnold UK.

WSM this year might be the weakest line up I recall seeing.

Why dont they put some events in it what kyriakos grizzly dose and allow him in it. I bet its because the other strongmen know he would win
