I thought it was so cool when I found out Brian Setzer was going to be playing the role of Eddie Cochran in the movie La Bamba. He must have been thrilled to be playing his hero. You did great Brian!!

The best scene in a classic biopic! I love the whole movie - the acting, music, story arc and all. But when i was a kid and this movie came out on VHS, i would watch this scene over and over because the song is a banger and Brian Setzer performed it with such swagger and style. I love the crowd’s reaction to it as well

Nope. He doesn't have Eddie Voice, Eddie Look, even Eddie guitar. Don't get me wrong , Brian is great, he created his own Summertime Blues version! I felt like Brian played himself in La Bamba, not played Eddie. They both are great and both are my inspiration to start play guitar.

I saw la bamba on a pay movie channel soon after its release and they deleted all but a few seconds of this scene. I'm just now seeing it all these years later. Brian's rendition is excellent, longer than Eddie's released version. Thanks to whoever made this possible.

The issue with Brian Setzer is his voice, It's one of the best rockabilly voices of all times, I dabbled trough enough rockabilly theese past weeks now to get an idea. But Brian isn't just a raw voice there is so increadible much talent behind it. So I believe that he can take an original song and make it as good or even better than the original.

I love this. The story is he chose his Gretch because it was the same one Eddie Cochran played. There's an Australian Guitarist Chris Cheney (The Living End ) that chose the same guitar because Brian Setzer played it. I think that's kinda cool.

There was a young copper attended the crash scene where poor Eddy died.He took Eddie's Gretch back to the cop shop for safe keeping till it could be given to his parents .That young copper was Dave. Who would eventually be in Dave dee, dozy , beaky ,mick and Tich.
