    She dumped Dylan because the relationship ran its course. She went out with Rick , the guy she met on her trip to France, and he ran to Kelly. I learnt this from binge watching 90210 clips.

    No, at the beginning of the show, he lived with his Dad at that hotel. I really don't think he was living by himself at 13.

    @@user-ob1ci4zn7x She was 17. What's the first thing a 17 year old is going to do once they turn 18? They will do whatever you told them not to do, so why fight it, or fight with them. Just gently guide them. If you create a power struggle, especially when it comes to teenage girls and their boyfriends, it will not end well.

    @@user-ob1ci4zn7x Jim has been up Brenda's butt since she met Dylan. It was ridiculous. He never did that to Brandon, and Brandon has gotten into more trouble than Brenda, but there was an inequality and double standard because of their sex. Even when Jim set Brenda up with Stuart in Season 4 when she was in college, Jim was flipping out because Brenda was spending too much time with him. He treated her like a baby.

    I have no doubt that Brenda loved Dylan but i do wonder if subconsciously she wanted to be with him to get at her parents because Dylan was the bad boy type that most parents may not have wanted their daughter to date.

    ..this is a CLASSIC scenario.....'Bad Boy' warms up to 'Good Girl', Parents see their 'little Girl' slipping away.....but remember, BRANDON befriended Dylan, and brought him Home...He met Brenda in HER shower....took her out (WITH Brandon), and they clicked INSTANTLY..... ....both never expected the *LOVE OF THEIR LIFE* , at Seventeen, but Brenda is a maturing young Woman, Dylan is independent & introspective, and Parents need to let it play out....Jim was overprotective, but if he's controlling Dylan's MONEY, the Kid can't be TOO bad.....

    ...Jim was SUCH a GOOD DAD!! ... but... *THIS WAS HER FIRST LOVE!* ...He's being protective of his Daughter, but has a problem loosening the reins, for her to become a young WOMAN... Listen to Jim's 'B', in 'Brenda' (2:41).. he's SCARED of losing his Daughter for GOOD...notice his EYES, at the words, '...at Home...' (2:23) ....that look SCREAMS, "...please, come back Home, Baby Girl..."...they gotta grow up SOMEDAY, Jimbo..... (2:26)

    The cheesy guitar riffs work way better on Melrose Place because that show only took itself half serious. I think that’s why it has aged better than 90210, which is still entertaining and I remember fondly, but is sometimes so embarrassing I feel uncomfortable. 😊❤😊❤😊

    Brenda should’ve ran to Kelly’s house. Jim would’ve been more accepting to Brenda crashing there, and it would’ve allowed time for Jim to cool off before talking things over with Brenda, but include Cindy’s input too.

    ​@@paulndenver I don't think she had the baby here. However I do believe moving in with Dylan created another dynamic between Jim and Dylan. It also created too much to fast for Dylan and Brenda which ultimately led to more cracks in the relationship. 🤷

    I don’t think so. She dumped him multiple times and had no problem kissing Rick. Luke Perry thought the love triangle would create drama and it was his idea. Sadly he regretted it because he felt he and Brenda were the perfect couple.

    Maybe script-wise but if you look up the addresses they used for the real homes they filmed in, the home they used to portray where the Walsh's lived is four houses down from the house they used for Dylan.

    No Jim was totally irrational. He should have had them take a temporary break after the Mexico trip. A week or two. Then he should have sit them down and told them what the rules were going to be.

    Brenda was 16 with a wealthy bf. Her parents didn't approve of Dylan. What was she supposed to do? It was the 90s. There was no sm to post her feelings to the world. Her parents really needed to take a page out of the Kris Jenner parenting manual. Kris let Kylie date Tyga for YEARS and he was much older than Kylie.

You can't exactly say no to a child who is financially independent from you, but I do think Jim mistreated Brenda, but honestly, that is how parents were back then. It was the "as long as you live under my roof, you will do what I say" mentality.

    You are young. 😊 This show (the original), Beverly Hills 90210, was a hit in the 90’s and had a long run on regular t.v. for years (10 seasons, I think). This show put Shannon Doherty on the map and made her famous. Charmed, her other show, didn’t come until many years later.

    When I was a kid I hated this show. I thought it was a goofy teeny bopper show that exploit how the "blonde" Kelly was the top choice. It gave off disgusting vibes to me, but when you experience life you grow to appreciate certain moments of the show.

    My Dad would have called the police I would have never done something like this Brenda was pretty bold. Unpopular opinion but I love Dylan and Kelly together they were soulmates
