Breathtaking Views 11,332 Feet on Top of Europe / Jungfraujoch Train

‪@nomadicmatt‬ once said "traveling the world is like becoming a child all over again. You don’t know what to do, where to go, or how to function." Tap into your inner child, have some fun, stay curious and discover unexpected things along the way. The Swiss Alps is the perfect place to do all that. Join us as we make the trek to the highest train station in Europe and stand 11,332 ft (3,454 m) above sea level, on Top of Europe Jungfraujoch. In Interlaken, we start the day with brunch and coffee at Velo Cafe (velo-cafe.ch/), an all vegan/vegetarian restaurant where we had delicious falafel, carrot cake and vegan cheesecake. First stop was Lauterbrunnen. Unfortunately the Staubbachfall waterfall, the main attraction in the city was completely dry in the winter. One of the cons of travel off peak season. We then headed to Wengen, a town 1,274 ft or 4,180 m above sea level. There was a nice church that sits high on top where you can get some cool pictures of the city above. Männlichen is a nice stop for skiing and snowboarding, although we don't do either.
Once you reach Top of Europe, you are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Alps. The videos and pictures just don't do justice. There is so much to do aside from witnessing the majestic mountains. There are numerous exhibits to learn more about the history of the Swiss Alps. The ‪@LindtChocolateWorld‬ shop is a favorite attraction where you can sample amazing chocolate. We really embraced out inner child in the ice palace, which all of these activities are included in your Top of Europe ticket. We took a total of 8 trains/trams/cable cars in one day.
We have mentioned previously that the cost of living and meals in Switzerland are quite expensive. We really recommend going to the local market to pick up food to make back in your accommodation. It is a great way to save money and a wonderful way to sample the local produce. We made hummus and flatbreads with fresh apples, figs, basil and tomatoes. Traveling truly allows you to become a child again. There is a new city and country waiting to be discovered. Why wait?
Our videos are beyond a simple travel guide, vlog or a list of travel tips. We want to inspire you to explore and see the city yourself! And there is reason why people travel for food! Come slow travel with us!
