Chamonix is more than a resort town. It is the home of some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Take two cable cars, walk through several snow tunnels, pass through endless exhibitions and climb countless steps to reach the peak at 3842 meters. Take a selfie at the Aiguille du Midi Glass Skywalk and descend back down to 2317 meters to have a coffee, mulled wine or hot chocolate at the Bar du Plan de l'Aiguille where you can take in the breathtaking views of the French Alps. We recommend cheesy fondue at Le Fer à Cheval accompanied with charcuterie, cornichon pickles, potatoes and a salad. If you are looking for something light, La Fabrica has an amazing provencal panini with sun dried tomatoes, goat cheese and pesto. You can't go wrong with French bread at Le Fournil Chamoniard and pastries at Chez Richard.
