It was a privilege to be part of this George to the Rescue project. Great to see the big reveal of the finished kitchen renovation and the light-filled bonus space.

This is my childhood home! I was born in this home and grew up there. So this was so bittersweet to see. ❤️

It’s amazing how one person can be so careless about another human being and their life. Then here is literally George to The Rescue and his team to care for one human being and thinking every possible way they can enrich and beautify his life. Let’s be more like George.

As usual a great program with heart warming results by amazing folk. My one cringe in these programs is the apparent waste of the kitchen units. Couldnt they be used for recycling by someone?

They usually do, but if you saw in the scene of demo, there was mold behind the cabinets which make them contaminated. Also, the cabinets were made of particle board and there was a lot of swelling and cracking. ❤

First off, thanks for renovating a home for a veteran. If still useable, you should have carefully taken down the cabinets and donated them to a Habitat for Humanity ReStore or someplace else. We've taken useable, but unwanted, items from building one house and renovating another to a local ReStore which helps provide funds or materials for Habitat For Humanity homes. It bothers me when perfectly good kitchens and bathrooms are smashed apart just to add drama on remodeling shows.

I don’t understand why they constantly break up the kitchen cabinets when they’re in good shape why wouldn’t you guys donate them to habitat for humanity instead they could be used again to help someone else. Just like the appliances I see them always throwing them in dumpster instead of donating them or setting aside to be scrapped for money doesn’t make sense paying to get rid of something that you can sell.

The only thing you did wrong that I seen was you put the microwave up, excuse me he's in a wheelchair you can't really reach up, and he's going to get a hot plate or a hot bowl of soup out of that microwave from the wheelchair.come on
