Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

After raising four biological children, Bob Vess and Joanne Swift decided to also adopt four children. Raising eight kids is no easy task so George to the Rescue makes its way to Cromwell, Connecticut to give this family an extreme home renovation.

This is possibly my favorite episode, as my wife was adopted from Henan province and she was also a victim of the one child policy. Thankfully, a hobo found her as an infant in a box on the street. She was adopted at 12 years old by an American family in Florida and is amazing, even though she is blind.

What I love about the George to the rescue episodes is that George and the contractors and laborers and volenteers take on projects that change a families life without going over board like another show some years back with Ty Pennington. These are projects most people can relate to. Basement/bedroom/kitchen and other general living area remodelings. Backyard and property renovatiins like this one. Instead of complete demos of entire houses George and his teams bring new life to individual parts of houses. Brings back memories of when I helped my Dad with the renovations of the house my parents raised us kids in. Thank George for the winderful things you and your contractors do for these families and thank you for bring back so many wonderful memiries if me helping my Dad with the home I grew up in. All my hopes that you have a long beautiful life of following your passion to make ither peoples lives better.

I've been watching a few of these this week and am under the impression that George only ever does something when it's on-camera. When the camera's off, everyone else is doing the work. Sort of suspected that the guy spot-painting the deck with the paintbrush was the one originally using the paint roller that George had when he was talking about it. Notice he was still painting while George was talking and pushing product. _He_ actually had work to do; George just had to smile and do an ad. =)

Wow, you beaut, what a great & grand job, but what about some play stuff for the kids... ?? They still need some recreational/play equipment, even one or two small easily moved or removed, to keep their childhood going, like where would they climb up and swing and frolick now... ?? And I wondered, dont they need some fencing in case someone comes and tries to pilfer the nice new outdoor furn?? Or is that a driveway along the side, not a road? Probably. Either way some privacy and noise reduction from the street would have been good, it sounded like a lot of cars passing earlier on... Georgie boy!?? George did a nice job picking out the lovely outdoor rug for the deck. Besides all of his sweatty muscle work...as per usual. The boy sure has stamina! And Im just thinking, from my design game, they could have done some potted plants up around on the deck, which the girls could have helped with, and with the veggie patch they have, a bit more "raised" garden beds would be nice, (well I would like some type that can be put higher up for my mum, at her house, so she can still manage a bit of gardening now with her ailing health and sore knees...) but what they have already is still ok, good they kept it, at least kids are young and can bend and stretch easily A designer involved may have done some special touches for the girls like decorating a tree with fairy lights or paper lanterns, all in white, ((or had them assist with some crafty decor project that would be incorporated, to make give a more personal touch)) I would do for them something extra special, to make lasting memories of their youth, (kind of like the other kids had in the yard with their play equipment) Something like a quaint ALICE IN WONDERLAND style mismatched fancy tea party table set up!!? my personal wish!! Then I would have to plant a bunny statue or two, one dashing by and or a fuzzy tailed rear end of a bunny poking out from around the base of a tree... And I would put a rotating whirl around thing like they have for kids at playgrounds in the US, which they can all sit on at same time, maybe also a set of swings on a washing line-type contraption? so it goes round like a carousel... if not an ACTUAL carousel... !!?? Now that would be magical... (with unicorns and pegusus flying horse, each one different...?) Well at least a large teepee, (or belle flower style tent, more ideally) big enough for all the kids to hang out, and an outdoor movie projector & theatre screen set up... booyaah

@@alatwood3274 - Why would a budget here be a factor when what they've done elsewhere far exceeds what they've done here? I mean they don't appear to scrimp on most of these, and most they seem to even waste money on using top of the line when normal would do just fine. I think the problem with this one is simply the designer. Using a single landscape designer that simply planned a normal landscape instead of actually incorporating features well thought out for interaction with a large family of young and even upcoming grandchildren. I'm really disappointed this time because it could have been done so much better, not just for current usage, but for the future also.

@@alatwood3274 Sorry I wrote a reply comment bk ages ago and lost it... But, Oh HAHA! Yeah, nah basically, it wouldn't be that bad, I would keep it subtle, not TOO over the top, with a little whimsy, just a few little girly touches, to evolve with the growing girls; there is plenty of time for being grown up, and kids need to keep/preserve their childhood as long as they can Actually imagining this backyard with the individual ideas - not overboard just some, & how the girls would enjoy them, (especially a bit of a playground, and an outdoor teepee glamping on the grass with colourful pillows, for summer nights,) was the most enjoyable for me of any design for others that I've given thought to... Ok I admit a bit of Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatters tea party was a big factor, (just a tea table made for outdoors, some colour & a bit of frivolity balanced with some subtle touches, of white and plain lights/lanterns,) that is more my wish ;)

WTF? Then please don't. If seeing this 20 show is what made you think that.. then I'm sorry, but you are not a person who should be doing so. Adoption is not a 'whim' based on whatever you're thinking here.

Im happy for the family in general, but this ep was so underwhelming. They really were not spending any money on this ep and it is so bare bones especially when the family is so big and only put 2 chairs around the fire pit. Like really George. You have to go back and do another follow up renovation.

With all due respect. Pretty sure theres tens of thousands of families that needs this more then this guy. A building contractor himself, lays off a 17 year employee, cause hes broke but then takes off of work to help people to renovate his house for free, hmmmm.

Never buy Benjamin Moore. Fired my FIL after 33 years of dedicated service just to hire some one for less money. Screw them.

Shit company with an appealing product, that seems to be the way of the world. People can't stop using Amazon despite how workers are treated, or buying Apple stuff while their factories in China have suicide nets. Benjamin Moore products are probably good, even if the people running the company are not.

WTF? Why do they have to adopt American kids? WTF is wrong with adopting these girls from a country that doesn't value girls, who don't adopt them, and who need a loving home? You're a total ass! I say good for them! If you're so concerned about American kids needing adoption then how about you do something about it yourself and help support American kids who need adoption in some way.

Really? The entire house was painted, a rotted deck removed, old structures removed, new pathways and sod everywhere, a beautiful firepit sitting area added … if that is ordinary, I welcome George to do something ordinary for my family!
