The acceleration at 400m is sick.
@runcaz7802
7 жыл бұрын
The acceleration came out of panic because the first lap was too slow. He saw the clock and panicked. He ran a negative split, which is unheard of in the 800 meters.
@mwwwin
7 жыл бұрын
Chronox5 Brandon's 2nd lap was just a second or so faster than his 1st. It only looked like a huge acceleration because everyone else paid the price and slowed down dramatically for the fast first lap. Those runner up guys ran about 57/63+.
@PongGod
6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't describe that move as "panic". He's never been challenged in any of these races for years. I would guess that it was a deliberate strategy to take it a bit easier on the first lap and then step it up. In any case, the outcome is still the same... one more title, one more national record (and a world record to boot).

Ayaan Ayubi please watch a typical d1 track meet... leaders usually come through in 1:52-1:56. 1:51 is faster than most d1 talent on a typical meet day

He ran a negative split. After the first 200 (26 sec.) he coasted the second 200 (30), then exploded on the second 400 like it was a 400 meter race. It's rare for an 800 runner to run the second lap faster than the first.
Old race but still was amazing. I was in staging area in the middle of the field.
The others ran great times and he smoked them

To get into most university track and field teams, you need to do 800m in under 1:54. If he has good grades, he could literally be part of harvard track

when kids run this fast, all they need to worry about is not burning out
Here's a good link to age records. UK and world record for 15 year old is 1.47.5. How the progress is not always how they start off when their young but this kids got magic feet! .My moneys on him in 10 years time to run sub 1:38. Del Smith (PS. I ran 1.57 at 14)

ThinkingTrack as you can see, he ended up in the same place as everyone else. He ran fast as a kid, but he isn't in diamond league breaking records like ingebrigtsen or barega. Running fast in the NCAA doesn't really matter compared to diamond league and runs with big money prizes.
@thinkingtrack8634
2 жыл бұрын
@@Amogus-qw5ph ??? he is a 19 year old freshman who ran 1:44.97 for 2nd in the NCAA - that isn't the same place as everyone else, dummy. That was 52nd best in the world. How much better do you want him to be at 18/19?? the age group records for these ages are 1:44.16 and 1:43.55... > he isn't running the diamond league Irrelevant, because he is an american athlete, he is taking a different route. running fast in the NCAA is in fact a valid route to elite competition, for sprinters/mid-d/distance finally, I know you're stupid bc you said everyone else then brought up Barega and Ingebrigtsen, who happen to be two of the BEST youth talents of all time who are elite young athletes. Never good when they grow up? They are great now... but your original comment was hating on Miller in this age 13 video, when Ingebrigtsen and Barega were also crazy fast as 13-16 year old youths?? you don't even have a consistent argument. Either he's not gonna be good when he's older, or he's not good now? neither of those hold water. the guy is 19 (born in 2002) and is on track to be elite. learn some more before you talk.
@Amogus-qw5ph
2 жыл бұрын
ThinkingTrack 52th place in the world isn't good enough if your planning to run in the Olympic final. Remember how fast he ran as a 13 year old, that didn't matter because 52th doesn't make you good enough to win Olympic trials. And when he has reached age 19 he won't run naturally faster anymore. Make sure he's good enough before you brag about him.

@@Amogus-qw5ph are you not reading what I am typing???? He is 19 NOW. What more can he do at this age??? The amount of 19 year olds faster than him in history is extremely short. He’s one of the fastest U20 athletes ever - certainly 3rd for the USA. So you really are not making sense. Should he be EVEN faster now? He already is AS GOOD as he can be for his age.
