I check IDs & greet people at a bar here in Birmingham, Friday night a small group came in & one of them was wearing a brown hoodie that said 'you are enough.' on the front and 'hey person behind me, if you are unsure, the world is a better place with you in it.' I couldn't help but remember the opportunity that took me for a surreal experience The Choe Show gave me with my parents, that only helped me prepare to lose both of them in the last 4 years. Thank you David, thank you for the will.

On my road to 50 in July.. the inner journey that I've been on for the past year and some months has been amazing. The hardest was forgiving myself and learning to love myself for the first time. You do have to reprogram your thinking.. lot of journaling to get it out of your system. Thanks Dave!

found you when i was hangin on like wallpaper David. was literally trying to overdose and end it all. i had abandoned art after high school. i had an scholarship to an art institute after i had won some art show stuff in high school. but living in Appalachia there wasn't a lot going on back then in the 90's. ironically married a korean girl had two boys, and after i saw you on bourdain's show i became a fan and have been ever since. things have changed so much since then. i am sketching away now and have gotten into painting and spray paint. much to do with your art and how you came off. i immediately followed up and searched your work. at 47 im doing my best art, living better and have found an amazing person to share it with...she's an art teacher lol. and sometimes when i think how i got here, i remember your story. love you brother, love your work. keep being you.

This is so interesting. When you said we are at constant war in our minds i felt upset at its truth and hopeless that I fave to face this for the rest of my life but upon some reflection it was because I was never truly winning these wars. In order to win this constant mental war of doubt and anger we must understand that you are enuf. Thanks David

There are actually 3 trees in the garden. The apple tree is the tree of knowledge of good and evil. We bred the hell out of that one. Then there is the tree of life. The oak tree. The old growth in the succession of the forest. It is there if we want to walk back to it. But that leap is a big one. Luckily between those two trees are the soft woods. The link between the young disturbed grasslands and the old hard wood forest. The white pine is the peace tree. In order for me as an artist and ecologist to help heal the world I need to find peace. I'm am listening to those soft pines now. I am taking refuge under the peace tree. The missing link 💚

Early on at Facebook I worked as a landscape designer and gardener. I designed and installed 2 gardens, one I Los Altos hills for the head of advertising and one outside San Jose for the head engineer. These guys were friends and were both pretty weird dudes. But I listened to what they had to say. And I stayed away from Facebook and social media. Im not saying it's all bad but they made it pretty obvious if I read between the lines that the business model was about compliance over cooperation. That's where they went wrong. Im glad you made a fortune off that because you deserve it. I always loved that part of the story. Yours
