When you almost tear up due to a sound or a memory says a lot about a person. That you have compassion for others and life. Young lady, it's nice to see you feel it deep in your soul. It's what the song was written for. In this world of chaos have a wonderful day.

Boz and the band are SO GOOD. Boz obviously knows how special the girls are and letting them put the exclamation point on at the end of such a beautiful song.

Just so you know this is not Boz Scaggs debut album; but it is one of his excellent ones. His first two albums go back to 1969 and 70 and were just titled Boz Scaggs, and his Slow Dancer were early albums. He left the US for some tours in England and around the area and came back and releases Silk Degrees and this song.

Boz Scaggs... such a great singer, such a great song!
What a great vocalist and gentleman, arranging this soulful, heartbreaking ballad and ending with his backup singers stepping forward intoning such perfect harmonies, and allowing them the recognition that they deserve!
Don't think Boz ever got the credit he deserves for his talent and showmanship. He always had one of the most beautiful and distinctive voices in the industry in my opinion. I sure regret I never got to go to one of his concerts.

I love Boz Scaggs and those women back up singers, WOW.
I remember this from Urban Cowbow with John Travolta and Scott Glenn in late 70's. Good movie and great song.
"Look What You've Done to Me" is a 1980 song recorded by Boz Scaggs, composed by Scaggs and David Foster for the movie Urban Cowboy. It reached #14 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in November, #13 on the Cash Box Top 100,[1] and went to #3 on the Adult Contemporary chart.[2] The song reached #30 in Canada. The song, reflecting on a broken romance (as depicted in Urban Cowboy), features the Eagles on background vocals and instrumentation by Don Felder on guitar and members of Toto and David Foster on keyboards. Two versions of the song were released. The more widely available version of the song (as released on Scaggs greatest hits compilations) places more emphasis on the Eagles' background vocals, plus additional background vocal stylings by Scaggs towards the end of the song. The version as heard in the Urban Cowboy film (as well as its soundtrack) replaces the Eagles' vocals with a female chorus. According to comments made by both Scaggs and Foster on the television special (and subsequent DVD) Hit Man: David Foster and Friends, the song was written and recorded in one night after the studio called asking the duo to write a song for the scene, informing them the scene was to be filmed the following day, and the track needed to be on a courier plane the following morning. David Foster provided a bit more of the backstory on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Season 3, Episode 3, titled "Don't Sing For Your Supper,” as his then-wife Yolanda was a cast member. Foster said that Scaggs wasn't happy with any of the music he played that evening until the night was almost over. When Foster played the intro chords that became the trademark beginning of the song, Scaggs said, "That's it.”

Boz recorded 2 albums in the little Burlap Palace in Sheffield Alabama and hooked up with Duane Allman on Loan me A Dime!
You are an old soul, my darlin'. How about a little " Miss Sun" from Boz, if you haven't done so already. There are very few artists who can still hold their own after twenty years or more. He's one of them.
I thought "Oh no. She's reacting to some dumb live version." Now at the end, my tears are proof of how wrong I was. I always thought this song had another few levels in it emotionally than I had heard from the slightly too-perfect performance on the studio version. I'm happy I got to see that explored in this live version. And glad you were able to sense that :-)

I think it is a tad slower version of the hit. I prefer it more like the Silk Degrees version.
Good ol' Boz. Came from a rocker/rhythm & blues background. When the baby boomers finally grew up and started families circa the mid-1970's, soft rock became a force on American radio. Boz shifted gears and fit in perfectly! He became a major part of that force. And India, you're right! I never caught the soul aspect in his music! But now that I consider, I can imagine the Chi-Lites performing this very song. Might be a good segue into ... recommending that you follow up this reaction by reacting to their mid-1960's smash hit "Oh Girl."
Those first four notes on the piano get me every time. I felt the same way you did the first time I heard it. Iconic love song. Thanks for doing this one, it was my request.
This song.... REALLY got to me... It indeed represents life. Sadly😢and Happily😊 both... It describes many of us.
The song and how this came about is legendary......David Foster got a last minute call from the movie producer/director of Urban Cowboy and told him they needed a song for for one of the most legendary scenes in the movie.....Foster then called Boz, and they wrote this and put in together in less than a few days, then it had to be rushed to the movie set in TX...........and then it so happened to turn out to be one of Boz best songs ever........
When I hear this song it immediately makes me think of The Urban Cowboy movie that came out when I was a very little kid. This song was all over the radio back then too! It brings alot of sweet memories flooding back. Sometimes it's bitter sweet though!
Dare I say it...underrated! Boz Scaggs really is. Seen him twice and let me tell you...the man is THE MAN!!

This probably one of the best live recordings Boz did of this song. Great rendition!
THANK YOU for listening to this magnificent artist. I've been Boz's No. 1 fan since 1970; seen him in concert many, many times. His distinctive voice, his musicians. . . .ahhhhh...
India welcome to the early '80s! We had great tunes in the 1980-1983 time frame. Glad to see you're enjoying Boz Scaggs's music; he is an incredibly versatile and talented singer and songwriter. And you're right; those harmony singers really light it up, especially the young woman standing to the left. Cheers, kindest regards, and welcome aboard
It makes me so happy that you like Boz Scaggs!
I liked Boz back in the 70's. The Lido Shuffle, Lowdown. But wasn't all over him. (If that makes sense) I rediscovered him a few years ago when I got free tickets to see him in Boulder. I was so taken. Since then, I have been " all over him" and love everything he puts out. Loved your reaction.
This whole concert....which is....Boz Scaggs Greatest Hits Live.....is all like this song.....just great. One of the best concerts I have ever seen. It's available on DVD.
As much as I loved this when it first came out, I believe this is my favorite version now because of it being live and you can see, feel and hear the emotion and that to me is what music is all about #MusicIsWhatFeelingsSoundLike
I'd forgotten just how great this song was, back in the day, thank you for reacting to it

Yeah ,girl -love your expressions ...! and the 2 backup singers just nailed it so superbly -too. beautiful
#IndiaReacts - I loved your reaction to this song. I've loved it since it originally came out when I was much younger. In my younger days, I saw this as a romantic song for sure, but I missed the darkness in it. Years later, this song means vulnerability to me, summed up in the throwaway line - "Love you wouldn't lie to me - WOULD YOU?" The singer in this song is damaged by past love(s). Even though he says, "After all, you are THE ONE", there is still that lingering doubt in adding the "would you?". He's afraid of being hurt again, but desperately hoping that he's not wrong this time. I can relate to this song. It's special to me. I loved that you felt it so keenly. It is beautiful and this is a beautiful version, and you are a beautiful soul to have the sensitivity to understand it so fully.
I have many of Boz albums.Probably in top 4 of my all time favorite singers from back in the day.His girls add such a taste of sweetness to this masterpiece. Musicians and sound quality in this song is impeccable.😀👍
