Studio One really deserves its name. I have worked with almost all the DAWs for years and man you are THE BEST.
Between Gregor and Joe Gilder I have learned more about studio one in the last few weeks than I have in the last year on my own! What I like most is that neither one of them utter even one word that isn't absolutely necessary.

I just wanna state my deep, deep appreciation for you Gregor. You're truly a lifesaver and I'm really grateful you do these videos, and so well by the way. You make everything perfectly relatable and understandable. Cant convey enough how much you've helped me. Thank you.
You’ve made studio work doable, and I couldn’t thank you enough
For everybody wondering why the Shift+G shortcut shown in the video does not work: This is not the default shortcut for unmerging audio events. To unmerge audio events, choose Audio -> Dissolve Audio Part. Of course, you can go into the Keyboard Shortcuts and assign Shift+G to "Dissolve Audio Part" to reach this command more easily.

I mean, Studio one is just crazy good. And this videos are a real treat :)
explaining the pros and cons of each feature is super helpful! thanks 😁
I'm getting a lot of value out of these videos. They're great! Keep them coming :)
These video are all pure gold of you are a Studio One user.
Awesome! I haven't used bounce at all because of the knowing it's un doable merging is so much handier for me at this time! Thank you 🙏🕊️
Thank you Professor G! Always helpful!
Very useful. Just got studio one with my new interface that I got for Christmas and these videos have been very helpful
Hi, When I hit Shift+G, the command I get is "Group : Suspend Group [Show]". And when I search for "unmerge" in the keyboard shortcut commands, I find nothing. What do I have to type exactly in order to get this command ? Thanks.
Invaluable tips here..thank you Greggor
Clear and succinct as always Gregor. Thx.
Great knowledge here!!! Thank you Gregor!!!
Thank you! Excellent tutorial!
Love this program 👍🔥
Awesome video once again💯
Love the pros of bouncing that I can process the event as a whole, I always keep backups of edits by copying into layers to compromise the cons ;P LOVE STUDIO ONE
The value that PreSonus packs into their products is insane! Across the board my favorite company to purchase from.
If youre using the merge method and still want to use clip gain, you can either enable clip gain through the edit menu or enable clip gain before you merge the tracks, also if the clip gain is effecting multiple tracks at once(i.e. if youre sampling) you can hit alt+C to separate shared copies or by right clicking event > event > separate shared copies.
Awesome. Thank you.
Studio One Is simply amazing.
Thanks Gregor! Presonus Community loves you!
thank you that was great!!!!!!!
Excellent feature.
amazing, gregor!
Thanks Gregor 🙏🏽
excellent video
INCREDIBLE
great video as always and fantastic S1 gives us so many options. My dilemma though is not knowing which method is best for my own circumstances because its hard to know what you may or may not need. if i use 'Bounce' this commits and is not reversible which at the time of bouncing might be the best choice but later down the line you need to make changes to the audio events that were not planned and then can't undo it. i think it would be great if S1 invented a crystal ball ! :)

You might want to take a look at Transforming to Rendered Audio. This is track-based but can be transformed back at any time.
well explained
Thanks for explaining the advantages and disadvantages of the two Gregor. Is it possible to merge the original track and then bounce it? Also, "Freeze" the original one to save CPU power and undo the effects later if need be?
Hey Gregor :) another great video, thank you! Is there a way to change the settings in which bouncing is performed? At least in my current settings a bounce is always done in 32bit, which differs from the settings of my song which is in 24bit. Thank you for your response ;) Cheers from Vienna!
I have another Disadvantage , bouncing affect the quality and add little mud to track , this is obviously with vocal and some time it damage some ending letters like K or T sound i don't advice to use it with Vocal at all. use mixdown instead after disable plugins on track, it want lose quality that way.
Thanks a lot Greg! Can you tell me which mouse you use? My TRACKMAN LOGITESH M570 wirelles drives me crazy from time to time ...
Legend!
could you guys make a video on floating windows?

🔥🔥🔥
How do you get the double audio files as shown in that video using Presonus Sphere 5 Professional? I'm learning and that 1 function I haven't learned how to do yet. Help!!!!! LOL!
Do functions such as 'Merge Events' and 'Convert to Audio Track' have any disadvantages on CPU resources or RAM?
Hello Gregor! I have some issues with bounce contact get good drums. When I try to bounce midi track of drums with ggd on it I’ve always got only kick sound (Chanel) as result. Outputs is multitrack advance but I cannot get the whole drum master track. What am I doing wrong?
Will be great to have multi track in container.
So towards the end of the video, when you are making duplicates.. Is there any differences in making ALL your edits before you made the copies? VS making copies then making your edits to each ghost part?
is there any way to bounce instrument track and it wont affect the audiowave form on its gain,for example on my bass vst track , i just want keep the plugins and the gain on wavform, i want the bouncing affect on faders and insert, and the waveform be flat, like logicpro x,, is there any way?
Bạn đã làm clip thì nên làm phụ đề Tiếng Việt Nam cho chúng tôi cùng xem
If i use melodyne how can i use gain envelope or use also vocalign??
How come when you bounce an event it slightly changes the appearance of the waveform, even on events without any inserts or gain edits??
I bounce to new track & mute. The previously used tracks then make them in-visible - then I have both - the new version to see and reference as well as the tracks I bounced from :) just in case I need to make edits but I find when I use the merge or group sometimes - some of the waveforms either get much bigger (louder) - and I have to re-edit them

Does this contribute to increased CPU usage?
@timgouthro9620
2 жыл бұрын
@@ryantaylor-memmory7015 I'd would think a little bit / but as I'm aware so far no, - your muting and making the tracks invisible so the audio is there - but nothing is being processed / and it's not in view so I'd assume it's not taking any more CPU but freeing up a bit to use - (need to actually check this tho)
So on a PC why isn't SHIFT G undoing the merge? I get a box that says SUSPEND Group?
I'm sorry but have to ask, why did you change your greeting?
Hi.. How to make the background music gets lower when the human voice starts and then the music goes up when the voice is pausing? ❤
question I use studio one 6.5 and merge audio (G on keyboard) and after that it will lose the ability to use the fade-in fade-out tool. The crossfade I also use for this
@presonus
3 ай бұрын
Hi, this is because merging audio events puts them into a part container - think of it like a compound Clip. When you double click it, you can still add fade ins and outs. Alternatively, you would want to bounce your audio instead of merging it using cmd+b (Mac) / ctrl+b (Windows). Hope this is helpful. -GBY
How do I make it so when I duplicate a clip, editing does NOT edit both parts? That’s one feature I wish I could turn off.
@presonus

Use Clip Versions, or bounce your event with ctrl/cmd+b to create a new clip. -GBY
I have to do the bounces of the individual tracks, but they have to be exactly like when I hear a mixdown export. I know I should do export in stems, and select "Tracks". But in this way the effects that are inside the bus of the individual tracks and the bus automations are not exported. To do this I have to do a single bounce for each track. Isn't there a way to do a general bounce of every single stem, so that it sounds exactly like my mixdown? Very simply, I export the mixdown. Then I export my complete stems. And it's exactly the same. (Bus automations must not be missing)
When I have merged events, and then cut up that event, the cross-fade doesn't work. Am I missing something?
Does the shared copy function work with midi tracks as well? Sometimes I’ll layer with another drum VST and if I make any edits to the programming it’d be nice if that would transfer over without me having to delete the midi track on the other drum vst and then copy and paste the new one
@studioonetutorials

Yes, you can create shared copies for instrument events (MIDI) as well. Just press Shift+D or choose Edit -> Duplicate Shared.

Is it possible to transform a track to free some cpu if its been merged instead of bounced? also thanks for all the videos
@studioonetutorials
2 жыл бұрын
Sure, that's possible. Just right-click the track and select "Transform to Rendered Audio".
How come when I try "Shift G" on merged events, I get a prompt asking Suspend Group with "Type group number or name"? I have been wanting to know how to unmerge events since I started using the program over a year ago.

Same problem here.. I figure out that the commando to "unmerged events" is ==> Audio ==> Dissolve Audio Part. You should create a shortcut to it... maybe "shift + G"... here, I use "control + G"

Had the same problem! Thanks alot for the help!
It would be so much faster if you could just highlight all the events on a track (midi or audio) by just clicking next to the name of the track which highlights everything in that track and gives you a pop up menu with option to merge all events with one click instead of having to highlight all the individual parts and then holding down shift and G. Maybe in the future?
Instead of merging, couldn't you bounce to a new track? I don't have a lot of experience with bouncing so I don't know if it keeps the original and then bounces the output to a new track or not.
@studioonetutorials
2 жыл бұрын
You usually don't need to bounce. Bouncing creates additional audio files and won't let you access the original events later. Merging is more flexible, it lets you clean up your song but if you like you can access the original audio events in the editor by double-clicking the merged events.
i dont believe i have the merge feature on Artist, only bounce?
Reason number 5347 why Studio One is the best DAW (don't flame me - I know Ableton users can probably do something similar with 8 mouse clicks and a jog around the workstation).
Merge doesn't allow time stretching.
Audio bounce selection and Mixdown selection is good, but INSTRUMENTS track bounce selection isn't good, why bouncing with Inserts FX . S1 need to work on it.😢

Hi, if you use Track Transform on Instrument Tracks, you can decide whether you want to bounce Insert FX or not. Best of all, the MIDI data will still be accessible in case you need it later! Please watch this video to learn more about Track Transform in Studio One: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gmioltynl87Ym9I.html -GBY
Windows: select the events hold CTRL and press B
