For everybody wondering why the Shift+G shortcut shown in the video does not work: This is not the default shortcut for unmerging audio events. To unmerge audio events, choose Audio -> Dissolve Audio Part. Of course, you can go into the Keyboard Shortcuts and assign Shift+G to "Dissolve Audio Part" to reach this command more easily.

If youre using the merge method and still want to use clip gain, you can either enable clip gain through the edit menu or enable clip gain before you merge the tracks, also if the clip gain is effecting multiple tracks at once(i.e. if youre sampling) you can hit alt+C to separate shared copies or by right clicking event > event > separate shared copies.

I have another Disadvantage , bouncing affect the quality and add little mud to track , this is obviously with vocal and some time it damage some ending letters like K or T sound i don't advice to use it with Vocal at all. use mixdown instead after disable plugins on track, it want lose quality that way.

great video as always and fantastic S1 gives us so many options. My dilemma though is not knowing which method is best for my own circumstances because its hard to know what you may or may not need. if i use 'Bounce' this commits and is not reversible which at the time of bouncing might be the best choice but later down the line you need to make changes to the audio events that were not planned and then can't undo it. i think it would be great if S1 invented a crystal ball ! :)

I have to do the bounces of the individual tracks, but they have to be exactly like when I hear a mixdown export. I know I should do export in stems, and select "Tracks". But in this way the effects that are inside the bus of the individual tracks and the bus automations are not exported. To do this I have to do a single bounce for each track. Isn't there a way to do a general bounce of every single stem, so that it sounds exactly like my mixdown? Very simply, I export the mixdown. Then I export my complete stems. And it's exactly the same. (Bus automations must not be missing)

I bounce to new track & mute. The previously used tracks then make them in-visible - then I have both - the new version to see and reference as well as the tracks I bounced from :) just in case I need to make edits but I find when I use the merge or group sometimes - some of the waveforms either get much bigger (louder) - and I have to re-edit them

Hi, this is because merging audio events puts them into a part container - think of it like a compound Clip. When you double click it, you can still add fade ins and outs. Alternatively, you would want to bounce your audio instead of merging it using cmd+b (Mac) / ctrl+b (Windows). Hope this is helpful. -GBY

It would be so much faster if you could just highlight all the events on a track (midi or audio) by just clicking next to the name of the track which highlights everything in that track and gives you a pop up menu with option to merge all events with one click instead of having to highlight all the individual parts and then holding down shift and G. Maybe in the future?

You usually don't need to bounce. Bouncing creates additional audio files and won't let you access the original events later. Merging is more flexible, it lets you clean up your song but if you like you can access the original audio events in the editor by double-clicking the merged events.
