It's okay that Andrea only plays the london. I'm 1800 and I've used the Vienna opening since like 500. I seriously don't know anything else. I watched Gothams Vienna opening video like 3 years ago and decided "yes this is the only thing I'll ever play for the rest of my life now"

@MistaOppritunity

I think the stigmatism exists because people first learn the london because they want to play a set up and just dive into chess. Granted, there is definitely theory to learn in the London, but people get into the london to avoid the london. When they get to the point where they are strong enough to know theory for an opening, I feel like the majority of people learn another opening. I did. I used the London up until about 1300 then I went and learned e4 because I felt like I had a good tactical base line.

It's nice seeing you vloggers and chess KZreadrs supporting each other, rather than viewing one another as rivals to denigrate. Great community and you are an excellent role model for others in it!
That's a great game to recap. They've played each other outside of events, obviously, for content and practice. But covering their first OTB event pairing is historic. It's great to see what they do when there are real stakes on the line and break it down for wider audience understanding.
The point at around 10:00 is really insightful. When there is pawn tension in the center, especially between a C and D pawn, I never know when is good to trade. I swear whenever I look at game review in positions I've had dozens of times, whatever is good is the opposite of what I did. Having the explanation about extinguishing your future attacking potential is really helpful to understand!
Alexandra is 5 out of 5 right now leading the tournament. They are getting 20000 viewers per game youtube and twitch combined. I really like watching them get back into classical chess. Im super glad YOU are going back to classical on the GM quest Levi. Youre gonna have great viewership if you stream your games, ill watch everyone. I think its great for chess to have all you chess influencers streaming tournament games. It can only help chess. Lets face it, you and the Botez sisters have huge followings, meaning you guys are the ones that should be streaming tournaments. See ya next video Levi!

Andrea needs to go through Levy’s E4 dynamite course which focuses on the London! Most beginner and lower intermediate players like it, but the way I see it being a building block opening it can get very blocked up and complicated by the time you’ve finished placing all your pieces. Then you really need to know your moves based on blacks play. Many London games are lost by white because of premature attacks with insufficient pieces.
Gotam never fails to create a thirst trap for his viewers
