Boston's Most Feared Irish Gangster

The Charlestown Mob was one of the most dangerous factions in the pre 1960's Boston underworld. Among this dangerous group the Hughes brothers stood out. Stevie Hughes is considered to be one of the most dangerous and feared men in Boston's history. No criminals could get a moment of peace while he was still out on the streets lurking about. #irish #gangster #boston #mafia #massachusetts #organizedcrime #mobs #hood #thuglife #thug #irsihgangster #irishmobster #crime

Wow. California kid here. I have devoured pretty much every Boston Organized crime book that’s been written starting with Black Mass back in 2010. These are the best mini documentaries I have seen on the subject. It’s rare to hear names like Wimpy Bennett or Indian Al mentioned on KZread. Very well done. I’m subscribed!!!

Glad I came across your channel. Great content and good job on the story telling and narration. I am a big true crime fanatic and you do an awesome job at that. For your next content, I wanted to see if you can dig up some stories about Boston's Chinatown underworld as well as the Chinatown Massacre in 1991. We seldom hear about it anything that goes down in Chinatown. I think that would make your channel well rounded in terms of true crime stories in Massachusetts. Keep up the great content.

Watching this is wild. I met a bunch of townies. Even met a Mchlaughlin who's a long shore man. I met them all through AA a bunch of these guys didn't 20-30 years for murders or robbing bank trucks and pharmacies. They came out and stayed sober because they didn't want to go back. I am having a brain fart right now and can't think of Mr. Cambells first name. He was one of my roommates at the Hamilton house. He went in for 8 years and ended up doing 32 years because him and his codefendant were locked up with the other codefendant that ratted on them. They cut his dick off and shoved it down his throat while strangling him. That's when the standing count started because his body wasn't found for days. Jack Campbell from Charlsetown MA...he ended up dying a few years ago but I spent a lot of time talking to him. That'd be a great google search and story for you.

The OC wave wiped out what was left of the Irish in Boston. Most of them got hooked then moved on to fentanyl. That’s the Irish biggest enemy, drugs and alcohol. Not judging because I suffer from the same issues. That’s just the truth, I’ve been in Boston since 92. Lived in Somerville by Mystic PJs and across from Winter Hill school.
