Humanitarian students learn rigors of the field in massive simulation

More than 250 students, faculty and volunteers converged on Harold Parker State Forest in April for a massive 3-day simulation of a humanitarian disaster. The exercise, organized by the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, aimed to mirror the real world conditions facing humanitarian aid workers - in this case responding to a natural disaster complicated by a local military conflict - before they head into the field for real.
