I have a Quaker Parrot named Kiwi....I hand raised her a hatchling...she has been with me 25 years.

I definitely heard, "It's HARD, it's HARD, you know...." Always loved the "I guess NOT, smart ass!". Poor Boogie had such a tough life!

I lost my little Quaker, Taco, in 1999. She sounded just like this. Sorry for your loss, they are special little birds.

Way too funny. This fella has some serious motor mouth goin' on... His Southern accent is the best as I've never heard a parrot speak with the drawl. He just throws in so many surprisingly complex sentences, and with perfect tone to match what he's saying (like how his tone rises and falls while threatening to "pack my suitcases right now" :-)

I, too, lost my quaker parrot this year. His name was Bogart and we called him Bogie. My deepest condolences. It's been 11 months for me and I'm still not over it.

Hi, we love to watch this video! I have a Quaker, who is about 8 months old. She doesn't say anything, just imitates sounds, but we love her as much as you loved Boogie! I'm sorry for your loss.

That is so cute!! My quaker does the same "chatter" thing, especially when he hears two people talking loudly (not even necessarily arguing). I can never make any actual words out, tho. This is awesome lol.

We just adopted Boogie, he came from a home where a divorce recently took place. Boogie speaks and sings very clearly except for when he is griping.

Have you thought about it the parrot complains about them going to work and that's something they always do the person said no one cares about what you say the parrot says I guess not I'm always a disappointment that parrot actually knows how to communicate a little bit

My first parrot was a quaker and I think that they are great for first timers if they can get past the bird's puberty stage, that's when they're loudest. Quaker's are the sweetest and best companions you could ever own, they always weant to be with you. You should definitly get a quaker!!!

ive had my quaker for 7 years, and i thought he only acted strange, i guess its in the breed. lol

I would strongly encourage you to get another one!! Although nothing can replace your Long-John, there's another Quaker out there that sure would love to be your buddy.

Yes, it's so sad. It's tough to cope with that kind of loss. After all, they're just people with feathers to us. We have a rescued Quaker named "Gifty". The woman who picked him off the street when he was wet cold and half dead couldn't keep him because of a noise complaint from a neighbor across the hall. We took him in as she heard we were 'bird people' and would be good to him. We have no idea how old he is.

Our quaker Mark died of old age just this Sunday. She didn't talk much, but was a good friend for 20 years. We adopted another quaker, Lucky 3 yrs ago that flew into a friend's backyard 5 yrs before that. She swears like a sailor and goes on some pretty good rants. Not as good as Boogie though. I always come back to Boogie when work gets annoying.

Boogie sounds like one of the bright stars from the QP world. More videos, please.

Teebird, my male quaker was with me 10 years before a family bust-up forced an adoption, luckily with fine, loving people who also let him fly free, fully feathered. Your bird is especially loquacious.Teebird would sound off every night before bed, getting the day's events off his chest. What fun. I miss Teebird. Tom in Utica

My quaker Sami does this when he thinks he's part of a conversation. And he'll say "yeah" and nod when we're talking. This is so adorable!

That is sooo funny! You can't make most of it out, but it is definitely complaining! Haha!

@dinksta We got Boogie from a woman who had escaped an abusive relationship and could no longer keep him. I believe he picked this up from the "Ex" since he ofetn used the "C" word and made reference to "F'ing Brats". We sure do miss him, our Grey and Red Belly keep us entertained, but nobody will ever fill Boogies shoes!

First of all I want to say I was totally entertained by Boogie. I too had a bird (Cockatiel) that had two previous owners. He died this past September. I don't have another bird, but I know what you mean. No other bird can replace Boogie.

im sorry for your loss of sweet little boogie, just remeber he will be waiting for you at rainbow bridge untill the day comes when you and he will be able to cross it together. and when that day comes when you and he will meet again he will know you are there, he will fly on his little angel wings to sit apon your shoulder and greet you with all the love he missed out on giving you over the years.

I really love Quakers - I am so sorry that Boogie had to witness such a horrible environment with his previous owners, but am glad he came to spend his final days with you (I worded it this way since it sounds like he's died since this video was uploaded). I admire and enjoy Quakers for many reasons, their ability to mimic just one of them!

Is your Disco the famous Budgie that is such a fantastic talker? If he is, I think I read that he passed away. I'm so sorry, he was such a a phenomenal bird.❤️

You are the first one to catch that. He does say "I need therapy" usually pretty clearly.

Im so sorry about your loss of Boogie. I have a quaker, Polly and i love him so much. I couldnt imagine losing him. I hope you had a proper burial for him and everything.

This reminds me so much of my Quaker, LongJohn. He used to sit on top of his cage and have these incredibly long conversations. I miss him so much. Unfortunately, he died in August. :-(

I had one named Pookie I thought it was a boy untill she laied eggs. she was a trip but when me and my ex husband split i had to move in with my parents and had to get 2 jobs and didnt have a lot of time to spend with pookie so I gave her to a friend of mine and she still has her any time i go over there even now 7 years later she starts jumping up and down saying momma,momma. pookie love momma momma love pookie. she was smart.

Warrior'ƨ Ɯιиɢƨ I agree 100%, Warrior's Wings!! My heart sank when I read that Boogie passed. My tiel of 23 years died last year and I still get choked up. My Senegal doesn't miss him, however. ❤

This is hysterical. I'm so sorry about your loss -- I love my Coco to bits. She's a baby, but has "Coco" (4 different ways), "pretty bird", "the magic flute", and laughing down so far.

He learned all this at his old house. The funny thing is he will also sing "I Love You" from Barney all the way through. I am trying to catch him singing Happy Birthday so I can record it. My other Quaker sweet talks, but is very quiet otherwise.
